'Storynets' is a captivating fable for grown-ups. It is deceptively simple, yet profound. Pia is the first-born daughter to a poor family of sea folk who live with and by nature. Her father is a fisherman and her mother gathers the wild herbs in the hills. Like her mother, Pia is a gatherer. She gathers stories. Some of her stories are her own, some are her ancestors’ stories. When the seasons are good, the stories are full of light and joy. When the seasons are harsh, the stories are of hungry bellies, hardships, and despair. Pia’s stories pile up year after year until they are a heavy burden which she drags behind her every day. Pia must find a way to live with her stories and be free to live her own life.
