First, let me say this is how I show up at my desk every morning to write. Dahling, I couldn’t possibly write a word unless I was wearing 3-inch heels with a Martini at hand. NOT!!! But it’s so different, and face it, infinitely less scarey than the way I usually work, running shorts and t-shirt with a cup of tea nearby, that I had to put this picture up.

I’ve been an avid reader ever since I was growing up on a farm in south Georgia. At that time I dreamed of writing poetry while living in The Big Apple and traveling the world. Fast forward, bypassing lots of not-so-glamourous jobs such as barbeque joint waitress, telemarketer, and corporate numbers cruncher, to today’s reality. I write contemporary romance, live in The Big Peach (ya know, Atlanta), and I’m working on the world travel.

I actually live in the suburbs with my husband, daughter, three cats, two rescue greyhounds, and chihuahua who bosses the whole house.

Writing is one of the best jobs in the world and one of the most miserable–depending on which day you’re asking. However, obviously the best outweighs the most miserable or I wouldn’t be working on that next book. So, here’s the straight skinny on the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.

For construction foreman Sven Sorenson, Good Riddance, Alaska, is as close to heaven as it gets. It's the type of place where a man can be a man.... Unfortunately, there's one thing missing--women!
A high-flying bush pilot, Juliette Miller's not interested in clipping her wings for commitment. She's tried that and come up empty--twice.
Her attraction to Sven is sizzling enough to melt the Alaskan chill. And it might convince her to find out whether the third time really is the charm.
Sven and Juliette are very lovable, working people. They each have their idiosyncrasies, but will they get in 'their' way? A nice story plot that begins very early in their lives. 5 stars!

I've liked this series and this book is no exception. No surprises but does deliver as required. Sven is nice - and usually nice guys dont come packaged like that! Where was his bit of snark? I know its fiction but come on, everyone has some dark bit in them. By contrast, Juliette has baggage a plenty. No surprises where they end up. I do like Alberta, the psychic outdoors woman that breezes into town when she's needed to matchmake!

Another okay read from Ms LaBrecque. I must admit I am getting fed up with the town of Good Riddance and some of its residents, especially Merrilee. She's too interferring for my liking and takes up too much room in Sven and Juliette's story. In actual fact, Merrilee has had too much room in all of the Alaskan Heat series. Please leave her out of the next one!

Not as good as the picture on the cover promises. However, I enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed the landscape. I suppose it wasn't enough to drag me into the series, but if I found myself bored once again, I would probably try it.

#5 in the Alaskan Series by Jennifer LaBrecque - I have enjoyed all the books in this series, some more so than others. This one was great.

Wasn't that good, but got better as it went along. In fact, the ended had to have been the best proposal EVER! It was touching but hilarious.

Alaska setting, carpenter, Sven, and pilot, Juliette act on their mutual attraction.

True love is not smooth. There are family and alcohol issues to work out.
