Another fantastic story in this series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤💜❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: 😍😚😉🥰😘
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Rihanna - She was sentenced to twenty years in prison . She was a smuggler and bounty hunter, she was always on the wrong side of the law, but misdemeanors more than felonies, until her shady associate makes her the fall guy for arms dealing on the planet with the strictest anti-armament laws. She is sentence to serve in the most brutal penitentiary. However, she is offered a chance to commute her sentence if she agrees to become a mail order bride to a Orc-like minotaur like male.

The Hero: Zatruk - He is a Yuru who recently overthrew the previous chieftain of his people who was only interested in war and subjugating other sentient species on their planet. Zatruk is starting a new way of life for his people starting with getting married and trying to keep his people from going to war again.

The Story: Rihanna is a small human female so Zatruk doesn’t quite know what to do with her. Though he really likes how fierce and spunky she is. Rihanna plans only to spend the required year married to Zatruk, but she is attracted to the huge muscular male and exited to know all about the planet and the people.

Like the rest of the books in this series, the world building is by far the best of any alien romance that I have read to date. The details of the world, the technology and the issues the culture faces are so great. The Yurus have a physiology in which they go into a blood rage at times which is why they fight so often and go to war. In order for Zatruk to make changes so that they can be allies with other clans and their human and Zelconian neighbors, they need some way to assuage the blood rage.

Zatruk decides to create a gladiator arena in which foreign fighters throughout the galaxy can come an fight against each other and the Yurus. They also have the ability to created weapons with the ditanium which is locally sourced and the Yurus are able to shape and smith unlike other, smaller species throughout the galaxy will be a source of income for the Yurus. All of this is specifically detailed in the story and quite interesting to boot.

Of course the book is also steamy and the romance is great between the two main characters. I have really enjoyed every book in this series that I have read. It was told in dual points of view via solo narration and narrated by Daryl Mayfield, I didn’t mind the solo narration at all because Daryl has a deep voice which matched the Orc-Minotaur very well and he also does a softer female voice better than most male narrators. All in all, this was a great audiobook.

Zatruk's story did not disappoint!!

Man what an amazing cover!! I wouldn't mind a little Zatruk action myself. He is hot as hell lol!

I loved this story and once again Kayog knew what would make Zatruk's perfect mate. It wasn't a sweet quiet girl like Luana from I Married a Birdman who first intrigued him, but sassy spitfire Rihanna. She came in like badass whirlwind that helped support Zatruk and help change Yurus society for the better.

Zatruk was a fluffy sweet teddy bear under all that growly roid rage. He was so loving and reverent to Rihanna. And embraced her new life and culture with an open heart and a mind to serve. I wish there had been a little bit more steam but it was a nice surprise with the equipment and knotting! Great job as always and I can't wait for what comes next!!! ❤️❤️

3.5 stars. So I’m not sure how filthy and vulgar this is going to get, so reader beware. I’m feeling a bit frisky today. Now Peter Topside is a plain Jane in the bedroom, but much like Zatruk here, do enjoy the occasional tusk play. Good to spice things up, especially when you have interspecies breeding goin’ on. This is the fifth entry into this science fiction sexfest series, and the writing is continually on point, clear, concise, and crisp as can be. So why the lower rating? Let’s get real…why is anyone reading these books? If they wanted pure science fiction, they’d be reading Michael Crichton. These books are read because of the crazy, strange sex happening between different creatures and their ‘mates.’ The formula is exactly the same…a beautiful woman is mandated to be sent to a mate on a different planet (Like a sci-fi ChristianMingle.com), who is always of an extremely different and exotic species. They feel each other out, make some wierd jokes, always find out how ‘density has popped them’ (Who knows what movie that’s from?) to each other, and they just get sloppy in the bedroom. Horns, tusks, snake-like tongues, wings, and God knows what else I’m forgetting. The girl is always questioning if she can handle the giant, girthy alien johnson, but somehow does, amazingly without being spilt into two perfectly symmetrical pieces. And the penis is always like built with ridges and protuberances that get the lady wetter than The Little Mermaid’s tail. Also, much like a Lifetime film, there may be some additional bumps in the relationship, which are quickly extinguished. More sex is had. All is well. The end. This had two sex scenes which were fairly brief and not all that unique. That took away a lot of points. Just once, I’d like to see one of these monsters drop trou, and their little friend looks like one of the worms from Tremors. And the woman flees in fear and is tried, hung publicly, and an all out war goes down against the failed Primal Mating Agency. Pretty awesome, right? But when you have a series like this, it gets stale when it’s almost verbatim the same story and characters time and time again. Regine Abel is an awesome writer, but there needs to be some really interesting changes made to make anyone want to read the next few books in this series.

**4.6/5 stars**

When I picked up this book, I literally didn't read the blurb, so I had no idea that the main hero, Zatruk had partly been the antagonist in I Married a Birdman , which happens on Cibbos, the same planet. He'd left a very strong impression to me as the new Yurus Great Chieftain and I even vaguely recall that I had wanted him to get his own story due to his interaction with Luana. And here it is!!

I think it was super cool to see how misunderstood the Yurus species actually is. Victims to their own Blood Rage, it's very hard for them to fight their need for violence and that hormonal imbalance. After their failure to invade the human city in IMAB, Zatruk's goal, as new Great Chieftain, is to find a solution to stop the impending War bubbling between the different Yurus Clans who will soon enter their Blood Rage, and repeat history. Rihanna, on the other hand, and to avoid being wrongfully sent to a dangerous prison planet, is given the opportunity to marry Zatruk who, according to Kayog the matchmaker, would be a perfect match and give the PMA the authorization to help Rihanna, freeing her from her sentence. Marry the Yurus for a year and give a proper try in making that relationship work OR be sent to the most dangerous and unsafe prison planet in the galaxy for twenty years; the choice is easy.

If Rihanna's plan was to leave Cibbos as soon as the contract of one year ended, she didn't think she would get attached so quickly to Zatruk. I had some doubts about her in the first few chapters. I'm very picky when it comes to 'badass' heroines, and she was mildly acting the way I hate it; overly confident, smug and too strong it didn't make sense. I normally prefer badass heroines whom are more humble, witty and clever. To my relief, she had a little bit of both . It was all easily overcome by the fact that she was likable in the long run. She was playful, nice and committed. I also liked her fierceness and how smart she was. I loved that she was teasing Zatruk and never recoiled facing him, which really impressed him seeing how small she was for that big attitude. Overall, she was agreeable and grew on me.

“I think you’re just trying to show off how strong you are.”
“I am strong. I’m glad you noticed.”

As for Zatruk, I loved how strong and intimidating he was, but also how he showed so much tenderness toward his mate. The way he constantly teased to get a reaction out of her and how he tried to be near her was adorable. A real teddy bear. He was obviously very protective of her. I also liked the fact that he was a bit shy about showing his need for proximity with her, how he would be shown to blush and how his ears would flick with embarrassment. He showed just the right amount of grumpiness and playfulness. I had no idea he'd be like that from the way he appeared in the other book as a secondary character, but I was happily content with how he was in intimacy.

“Considering the size of your proportionally tiny hands, I doubt both of yours will suffice to handle me.”-Zatruk

The strength of this book was definitely the complicity between Rihanna and Zatruk. The cute bantering made me smile more than once. They truly were a perfect match. I think I would've liked to see more moments between them, because they were that cute. After the initial pair up and mating, I found that their relationship took a little bit of the backseat, giving the reins to their attempt in avoiding the impending War. This is where I lowered my rating a tiny bit; I felt like the pace slowed down too much in the second half and I didn't feel as engaged as I was in the first half.

His chest vibrated with a purr, and he gently rubbed his temple on my forehead, marking me with his scent. My heart clenched when I stole another glance at him and saw the happy and content expression on his face as he turned back to read his book. My beast was a cuddler who simply didn’t know how to ask for it.-Rihanna

Another thing that I absolutely adored was the development we got with Wonjin. Just like Zatruk did, Wonjin showed potential to be a great main character in future books. Sadly, we see that he got his own HEA in this book's epilogue but we don't get to see how it happened...which is a shame because Wonjin and Lara were so cute together. The PMA series seems to show the marriage between a human and a vaguely humanoid alien, depicting a new species in each book, so the chances of having another Yurus/Human pairing is mostly improbable. I still cross my fingers though! (EDIT: OMG!!!! My wish came true! There is actually a book for them that just dropped. I'm hyped! What a great surprised! )

Overall, a very good installment. I find that it pairs very well with I Married a Birdman as it shows the three main sentients beings (Humans/Zelconians/Yurus) of Cibbos trying to find peace and work together on an innovative project. Since they are all standalones, you don't have to read them in order...BUT, I would recommend to read I Married a Birdman before this one, if you want deeper context as to why there is this tension between the Humans and Zelconians vs Yurus.

3- 3.5ish Stars
Fans of the series have been waiting on this since I Married a Birdman, and after the disappointment of I Married A Merman, I was a smidge hesitant, but I decided to give it a shot. These books can be read as standalones, but this is closely connected to the Birdman book, so I would recommend reading that one first.

This book opens with Rihanna meeting with Kayog (the Temern match maker from the other books) and given the choice to either enter into an arranged marriage with Yurus (minotaur) Zatruk or serve out her 20-year prison sentence… she chooses the marriage. The timeline picks up a few months after the I Married a Birdman epilogue. Luana is now heavily pregnant, and Zatruk is the new Yurus High Chieftain.

I liked this but kinda felt liked I’d already read it because I thought Rihanna was VERY similar to Serena (I Married a Naga) ✔️ neither were participants/interested in the arranged marriage ✔️ both were pushed into it with a life or death choice (get married or die/jail) ✔️ both entered with the plan to put in the time then get out ✔️ both were tough hunter/bounty hunter chicks ✔️ both even had a birth control implant with 2 years left.

Bottom Line- This was MUCH better than the last book, but the “formula” is starting to lose its sparkle. I enjoyed it, but it was really similar to the first three books, and there’re only so many ways to tell the same story without it starting to get stale. I don’t mind the low couple drama, I actually find it refreshing to not have them bickering constantly and supporting each other, but IMO there just needs to be something extra sprinkled in. (maybe resistance from the villagers, OW/past relationship drama, some type of danger or obstacle, etc.) It had more of a plot than I Married a Merman but still had large chunks of page-time dedicated to unimportant details… like coming up with prizes for their project. I loved the crossover/visiting past characters, (Dakas/Luana/Graith) and there’s a nice epilogue several years later with updates from both couples… and maybe a hint at a future human/zelconian hybrid + human/yurus hybrid matchup.

I think this was the best one in the series yet! It went back to the world in my previous fav (I Married a Birdman) and we got to see the bad guys' have their own culture & struggles explored. I liked that our h/h had a little more bite to them in this one than the other main characters... yeah, overall, just a super good version of this story! Keep 'em coming!

This one is good! 😘

It reminds me of the first book in the series and why I like this series so much.
The heroine is strong, smart and was there to give the hero a helping hand, how to live in a world where technology involves, not just the physical strength 😳😆.

The epilogue also super cute ☺️😍🥰

If you’re following this series, don’t skip this one! 😘

“Sí, creo que eres muy dulce, además de ser esponjoso y tener las orejas más bonitas”

★★★★★/ 𝟻

🌸 ¡Hola lectores! (●’◡’●)ノ

Heartwarming, hot and so totally adorable 🥰 Our sweet, lethal minotaur is a giant cuddle-bug 😭❤️ This book rivals the snakeman one (book 2) in my heart.
Arranged marriage trope, MCs who are just fated to work, the coolest matchmaker of all time with the craziest track record - why is he not real?! 😭 The problems faced within the community of Yurus (the minotaurs) were hinted at in a previous book, so it kept me invested throughout. Easy read as usual. At about 89% through the book my heart melted into a useless puddle. I need to go find something to cuddle the crap out of. Good book. Big recommend. Me happy.

Option 1: GO TO JAIL
Option 2: marry a MINOTAUR 😈

Rihanna has an option to escape her harsh conviction by marrying a primitive orc-minotaur. Challenge ACCEPTED! She is sent to a minotaur tribe that is genetically required to constantly fight & cause a ruckus 👀 Rihanna becomes instrumental in finding a solution to his people’s problems.

Rihanna & Zatruk were actually very similar with a feisty exterior but soft marshmallow personality. Their dynamic included playful teasing and banter, which was cute if a little cringy.

😈 size difference

😈 he has a built in vibrator

😈 strong & independent fmc

The story ended up boring me towards the end. I just couldn’t really get that invested in the characters and the low stakes plot. Strangely enough, I also have some high standards for minotaur romance (looking at you Ruby Dixon) and this one just didn’t seem as interesting.

“Considering the size of your proportionally tiny hands, I doubt both of yours will suffice to handle me.”

Started reading this purely because the cover intrigued me, and it's totally worth it.

Rihanna is sentenced to the most savage prison for a crime she didn't commit but she’s offered a deal to commute her sentence, which is an arranged marriage with a grumpy orc-minotaur. And this grumpy minotaur happened to be very sweet and adorable, a giant fluff, Zatruk.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this; this is my first book from this series, which is my fault because I was kind of lost a little bit on the world building, but it was really refreshing to see their world.

The relationship between Rihanna and Zatruk was a little bit insta-love for me. I don't know, maybe it's because they are mates for life?

I may have fallen in love with a fluffy, cuddly, mountain of muscles

But other than that, I love them. Zatruk was so sweet to Rihanna, and I love how smart and strong Rihanna is, and both of them became a team, supporting each other.

And, um, the next book is Dragon.. so maybe I'll give it a try🤭😂

3.5⭐

Okay, getting kissed by a massive beast with an attitude had turned me on.

I loved Rihanna and Zatruk from the first moment they met! Honestly, the plot was kinda simple and predictable but I still enjoyed it! I liked seeing how they worked together to lead. And I loved how they worked to change the Yurus for the better and their futures.
I loved their banter. It was cute and so funny!

4 stars!

So good once I got past the first 15% or so. The beginning of this book was too similar to the previous books in this series, and made it hard to immediately become excited about more of the same thing (especially because I found the last book to be lackluster). However, I once I got into the story, it was definitely different, and very enjoyable.

My one minor complaint is that the hero wasn’t all that different an alien species. Her previous books had aliens who were SO out of the ordinary. I really enjoyed that little bit of the ick factor that came with such strange heroes. This guy is basically just a big human with fur and tusks. He actually reminded me of the IPB aliens by Ruby Dixon. He even has a similar appendage for clit stimulation, lol.

Anyways, it’s a really good addition to this series, I really enjoyed it!

Safe; no real mentions of H&h’s past. Hero didn’t strike me as a manwhore, and mentioned turning down women who were interested in him. Heroine mentioned being celibate, no om/ow drama, no scenes with om/ow, no cheating.

I love this series and I'm glad Regine Abel circled back to give Zatruk his own story. We met him in book 3, when his people - the Yurus - were attacking the human heroine's tribe. Zatruk usurped the previous leader at the end of that book, and Kaygo has now found him his perfect match - in the form of a petite human woman who's a hunter and smuggler.

Rihanna was feisty and handled herself well - she was so fun to read, because she's a typical small person / big personality.

I really enjoyed the additional information we got about the Yurus and their blood rages and I thought the plot (while at times a little rushed) was a perfect companion to the romance between them. Just a really fun read all around - even if the epilogue was a little cheesy.

LOVED this 😍🥵

Rihanna is about to serve 20 years for a crime she didn’t commit.. until she’s given an offer she can’t refuse. Zatruk never expected his mate to be so small or fragile.. until she immediately proves him wrong. Will he be able to woo his new wife into staying forever?

Zatruk.. what a big teddy bear. He comes off so intimidating and scary but is actually so sweet and caring. I love that Rihanna calls him on it so often that he eventually leans into it… but only with her. They are so perfect for the other, it’s adorable. The way they rile each other up is so funny. Ahh I just loved this so much!

I think this might be my favorite in the series so far! 😍

Good romance, not the most solid plot

Rihanna and Zatruk had all the banter and tenderness between them. Rihanna fit into Yurus culture well and was a good support for her spouse. The biological issues the Yurus were running into weee interesting and complex. However, I’m still a bit confused about the complexity of the solution. The was a simpler way forward.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: imprisonment, violence, mild gore, discussion of war, mention of death of parent, pregnancy, mention of c section

- I absolutely love them already and i’m on page 18, their banter is amazing and her attitude is just AMAZING
- i love them
- i like how this one is sorta like a spin off of the birdman one and i’m interested to see how it develops
- she doesn’t take shit from no one and is super sassy and doesn’t let intimidation effect her
- AND SHE CAN HOLD HER OWN, she don’t need a man
- “I may be a little impulsive at times, but i promise that i’m not stupid.”-44(18%)
- “As i’m a sore loser, i never make a bet i can’t win.”
- Rihanna is actually kind and caring too, the way she helped out some other guy who was part of the clan was sweet
- there wasn’t a set epilogue but i thought the ending was like one and it was cute, liked how it involved all the children

Highlights:
I love how the marriage of convenience is set up in this series. Both people have to genuinely try and consummate the marriage early on. The plotline around the world and problems of each alien race this book focuses on is also always interesting. Rhianna and Zatruk have great banter. They both have this playful, cocky, likable asshole vibes to them and they play off each other well.

Lowlights:
I feel like this book dragged a bit plot-wise in the second act. I was really impatient for the plot to move forward faster.

I give this book a 4/5🌟 rating. I love love love this series!

This was such a fun and adorable read from start to finish. The heroine is given an ultimatum, one that will keep her out of prison but require her to marry a brute, AKA what we'd call a Minotaur and to boot he's the leader and an albino. Luckily the heroine always knew she'd marry an alien species and she's willing to do anything to remain free and actually looks forward to her new life. Her husband is new to the role of leadership and while his people are his priority he really goes out of his way to show the heroine how important she is to him. She may think their marriage will be a temporary thing but not if he has anything to say about it. I really loved the dynamic between them and how the heroine was able to become part of his community and even save his people from their rage. Great addition to the series but still works as a standalone.

Sweet pairing between Rihanna and Zatruk, but kind of just typical based on what I expected from this series. We've got the hero and heroine meeting and matched by the Prime Mating Agency, both of them willing to give their marriage a shot, but otherwise just getting along together and there not really being any disagreements or conflict between them. Instead, the story is about their partnership in resolving the conflict and while that is GOOD...

...I guess I was expecting more of a Beauty and the Beast type of plot here, something that starts off with them NOT getting along, either because they're too different or...I dunno, just have Zatruk be a jerk for a bit.

I think that a lot of this book was hype and setup from I Married a Birdman, where the Yurus (Zatruk's people) were portrayed as being really bestial and violent, and that while Zatruk is definitely the more reasonable of them, ultimately he's still fighting against his own nature.

And yes, we SORT OF have that, with banter between the two and Zatruk indeed having to temper his more violent impulses, but...well, the banter's good natured, and Zatruk's impulses never create problems for the couple.

It's all well and good, really--as is reflected in my 5-star rating. My only hesitation from the full 5 stars is just that I didn't find this book all that exciting, and I wonder if the build-up of it wasn't higher because of this character's previous appearance in an earlier book.

So, to conclude: GOOD, but not great.

This was a wonderful story! The narrator OMG is the best!! I swear I had to go back and look to make sure their wasn’t two narrators! That’s how good he is!
Then the story was chief kiss! I love all Ables stories but I think this one is my fave!
So I’m telling y’all now don’t pass this one by you will regret it! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!

I was surprised to see some reviews from people who love the series that this book didn't work for them. Honestly, this book was the exact same vibe as the previous ones. Mature relationships, differing cultures, slight subplot that requires working together to problem-solve some issue within the alien culture that the heroine can help with. Boom. Just what the doctor ordered honestly.

I liked the minotaur aspects and the interesting explanation of their aggression. Sweet, sexy, and full of mature conversation and communication. Doesn't disappoint.

This one was one of my favorite installments in this series for sure! We return to the world of I Married a Birdman, but we are focused on the Yuru race, a race of Minotaurs. Zatruk, our hero, is an albino, and does everything he can to supress his violent nature. It's a genetic thing, so a lot of people struggle with it.
Rihanna is facing a 20 year jail sentence on a slave planet, because she was left behind as the fall guy. The PMA comes to the rescue, because he senses that she will be a good fit for Zatruk and the Yuru people.
It's such an amazing title. Definitely pick it up, but read I Married a Birdman first! ;)

I love a couple with a little sass and teasing. Not afraid to stand their ground, not worried about being themselves but also not tearing down the relationship either by saying whatever inflammatory or hurtful things that come to mind. This was fun. It had limited fun since a lot of this book was based on logistics, planning and negotiating, but I really enjoyed the banter:
-----------
“That’s really sweet,” she said, with a smile.
I frowned at her offensive words. “I’m not sweet,” I whispered sternly.
Rihanna’s smile broadened, and her obsidian eyes sparkled. She leaned forward to whisper to me. “Yes, I think you’re very sweet, on top of being fluffy, and having the cutest ears.”
I glared at her, annoyed beyond words.
----------
“I think you’re just trying to show off how strong you are.”
“I am strong. I’m glad you noticed.”
----------
"I could already hear her stubbornly arguing with me. I looked forward to it."

There was some sadness when we learn of the volatile nature of the Yurus and the Great Wars, what a waste and shame. But an interesting take on them and their genetics.

This book tied back to other storylines, so we got to check in with other characters. It did take me a hot minute to remember those characters since I was in NO way ready for that, but it came to me eventually. Another enjoyable read of the antics of the PMA.

This one was set on the same planet as I Married a Birdman, so we got to catch with some of the past characters, which was nice. Best thing though, this time the love interest is the antagonist from their book! Yep, bad guy gets his own story.
As usual, the male MC is actually very sweet, and everything is consensual. This one focused on the race as a whole, and it was really interesting and so well done. There's a lot of dangers and inherent vices of their physiology and the way their hormones dictate growth and aggression. The culture shock was pretty funny too. I truly loved these widescale stories where a whole community is impacted, not just a single couple, and the fact it was a morally grey MC was just extra icing on the cake.
