"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!

Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various times and cultures. When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.

After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."

Wow! Absolutely loved this mind blowing story full of shocking surprises!

I had a vague idea what a Campaign Manager was required to do, to get his or her candidate elected. However, I had no idea how much power they wielded or how far the investors, as well as the political enemies, would go to stop them! Break a few laws, so what? Deceit, threats, blackmail, payoffs, and betrayal are all on the table to get the job done.

However, Terri Summers was not to be played with and when the low life creeps went low, she went high and kicked A$$!!!!

This awesome book goes on the "Great Read Again" pile!

Reader's whiplash galore plus the signs of the times in politicking !!

Tension aka drama was extremely high in Race for the Senate by Erosa Knowles. The main characters, Terri and Max had a lot to overcome in this story and most definitely their engaging and thought provoking storyline was so worth
reading about! Also , the secondary characters were just as engaging as Max and Terri!

A must read!

Awesome Read

I dont know if I can do the review any justice… Let just say that it was hard to put it down. I read it on my downtime at work, relaxing time at home. Terri is one sexy-classy-gorgeous-smart-intelligent & more woman, I just love her and Max is no foul, he knew a good thing… 😉
I love all the Terri, Max and Anita’s entourage… like I said it’s hard to review this book. Too many twists and turns, a definite page turner.
No spoilers !
I am hoping to see Terri and Co in the future…

Great read !!

Political gains!

Some people would do anything for that power. But Terri Summers always worked for the candidate she felt was right regardless of affiliation. Her ex, Jacob tried to sow seeds of doubt in her campaign capabilities. Her own father was the worst at it and blocked he and her brothers from her life with their ultra-misogynistic attitudes.

She found the perfect candidate to work their campaign. Judge Anita Knight was everything her opponent was not. Terri was put down for running Anita's campaign but the opposition came hard and dirty.

The campaign also came with a financial backer that had Terri in his eyes. Max Cannon tried to be subtle with his attraction to Summer. He smoothly courted Terri until she couldn't resist. I would have liked to have read more of their HEA. We still don't have a clear idea why Liam and his concerts did what they did. I enjoyed reading this book. I'm just glad I'm not into politics. It's a game of chess that's too dirty for me.

This book was so realistic. I felt like I was reading events that were playing out in the politics as we experience them in the present. So happy they found love with each other and didn't let the negative talk detail them.

I received an ARC through "Booksirens" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with Terri and her team celebrating the election of their candidate Ezra for the governor of the state of Missouri. Terri took over running the campaign after the 1st person did not perform. At the time, it was thought there was no opportunity for Ezra, their candidate, to win. Through hard work and effort, she and her team managed to pull the impossible.

At the completion of the campaign, Terri was looking into handling various candidates' campaigns, but nothing really inspired her. She was hoping to work on Tony's Bradford's Senate campaign, but learned she wasn't wanted. She was even willing to work as a volunteer, but no dice. She was layer presented with the opportunity to handle Anita Knight, a member of the opposite party, who had decided to put her name in to run for Senator. Terri after learning more about Anita decided to take on the role of running the campaign. She laid out her groundrules and once they were agreed to, she then started working in order to win the primary. Once Anita won the primary, then the hard work began. As the end of the campaign was coming to a close, the other parties' campaign did not seem to be doing a good job so in order to improve their chances, they began running a dirty campaign. It was time for the voting and it was only a matter of waiting.

To learn who the eventual winner was, what steps Terri took tp promote Anita, who was the individual that wanted Terri to run the campaign and what his role was as the campaign went on, then you need to read this book.

The description of Anita's campaign was quite enlightening. It also highlighted how certain individuals were looked down upon even though they turned out performing better.

Max and Terri romance was entertaining. I liked their 'no game - no bullshit' attitude. And that they were something of an equal pair. Terri was a bad ass, efficient professionally, and driven. The campaign aspect was interesting. I liked that this aspect of Terri's storyline was not dealt in passing but was central. I appreciated also that there were no unnecessary drama. Max's side was a bit light in comparison. I liked him alright but apart from being a billionaire donor, there wasn't much about what he actually did, outside the campaign. Not that that should have been the focus, I just felt a little bit less connected to him. Still liked the book.

It is rare that I read romance with a political elements, I think this is the 2nd one I've ever read. It is definitely the BEST!! I love the bold, practical, drive and integrity of Terri. Max... is off the chain with some of the same character traits with some edginess. The story is intense, engaging, romantic and steamy. Kept me very well entertained and on the edge of my seat with the surprising twist and turns, loads of fun!! I don't think I've ever read anything by this author before but I will be looking for some more to gobble up. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed the book's plot, especially considering the current political environment. The intricate details surrounding running a political campaign were insightful but overshadowed the romance. The dynamic between Terri and Max was engaging, but I felt like their relationship could have been developed further. I expected their first intimate moment to be impactful, but it fell a bit flat for me. Their follow-up encounters also didn't land for me. Although sex isn't everything, if politics is a central theme in a romance, it's important to heighten the chemistry between the characters to balance out the weight of the storyline.

Race for the Senate: Billionaire. Political. High-Stakes!

Perfect read. Everything you want to know about dirty politics versus the real things good in politics! Hard to put down the truth! A must read. A read that prepares you for next important election if you want the real thing! Know your candidates! If it smells you know who not to vote for! Max and Terri, an ideal romantic couple, why, because they had the same morale ad fight in them to do the right thing! Love and respect the truth!

Always a great read!

This book is great and it tells a story of how you can accomplish anything despite people discouraging you! I am glad Terri had her auntBarb to give her what her father wouldn’t. I love strong, intelligent women who won’t stop at nothing to make it. Max is determined to, sexy and powerful and knows how to take care of his woman and the things that are important.

interesting (contains spoilers)

The political side was interesting, however the romance was lacking. Beyond surface level of their professional ambitions, I don’t know anything about them as a couple and their common dreams I.e living together, marriage, kids, values etc… The ending was also abrupt. We didn’t get any sense of how they would be as a couple outside of the race.

Not be best but good romance set within the dirty politics of US

I like and enjoy this author's books. I always look forward to her books. Whilst this is not y favourite story from her I still have it a 4 stars because she writes good solid on topical topics such as child trafficking and such.

slow burn with heat

I’ve read a book by Ms Knowles in awhile (no fault on her side); my book energy has been sifting lately. I so enjoyed the complete book no cliffhangers or dragged out scenes.

What you get is a compelling story, characters that not only hold your interest but you root for their HEA.

Well done!!

Too much complicated politics

This book has too many characters and details. There doesn’t seem to be any depth in the main characters relationship. Not a range of emotions that a reader can connect to. Very sterile. The author can write and is talented but it reads like AI could’ve written it.

Interesting political plot with lots of detail but it kinda droned on and was boring. Wish there was more focus on the romance between Terri Max. Really enjoyed Terri as a character and Max’s emotional intelligence throughout. Was a bit boring at parts and sped through some parts, but was a fine read.

VERY VERY GOOD

This story was a little different It mainly focused on the ins and outs of a campaign and the relationship was second, but I loved the way their relationship happened organically. I also liked how Ms Knowles didn’t gloss over the racism in politics but addressed it. TERRI & MAX were a good fit. I enjoyed this book.

Attractive looking couple on the cover….check. Office romances…check. Duplicity in a political arena….check. I loved the character of Terri and she reminds me of an Olivia Pope; a true fixer and ultimate strategist. The chemistry with Max was not all that convincing but I enjoyed reading the entire story.

This is politics well done

The imagery of the political settings was spot on. Their romance grew as the story progressed was marvelous and had me from the very first chapter. Oh and when Max and Terri fell….the heat they produced was steamy as Heck !!!!
Wish there were more stars to give. 10+ sounds good.

Great love story and how a campaign works

I could not put this book down. The excitement of how a campaign runs, integrity of a good candidate no matter party, race or gender. Most importantly a wonderful love story. A few editing errors but overall, I highly recommend.

Hi,

Honestly this book is not horrible but there was not enough romance, if you love romance this book may be disappointing.
Too much political aspects , at first it’s really interesting but after a few pages it became annoying
I will read others book from this author because I like the writing.

Ok I really really like the idea and plot of this book. It was intriguing and could have truly been great. But I didn’t enjoy the way it was written. Too often I couldn’t work out who it was that was talking. And kept stopping the flow of the story

Hooked from line one

The synopsis of the book sounded interesting, but I was not prepared for how good the book was! I couldn’t put the book down I was so entrenched in the story! Terri is the coolest character I’ve read about in awhile!

Excellent Read! The author clearly knows politics and how the game works. This book kept me tuned in from the very beginning. There were a few grammatical errors here and there. But for the most part, the book was smooth reading. I enjoyed it immensely. I also loved Terri and Max!
