At last, one of the biggest-selling self-help books in history is coming to America
Now you can discover the easy-to-learn strategies of super-achievers to energize and improve your life in just 7 days! Paul McKenna, PhD, made a remarkable study of highly successful and effective people from around the world, and discovered that success and happiness are not accidents that happen to some people and not others. They are created by specific ways of thinking and acting, and can be mastered in just 7 days. He has distilled these proven techniques into an amazing life makeover that will help you to think and act more creatively, positively, and confidently.
-Would you like to make more money and be more successful? -Would you like to have more energy and feel happier every day? -Would you like to start living the life of your dreams?
The book comes with a hypnosis CD that will train your brain to be regularly in a peak state of performance, and a DVD with 7 power-coaching sessions from Paul. Now you have Paul McKenna on tap 24 hours a day, and in a week you will learn how to master your emotions, become more focused on success, and become the person you truly want to be!
Paul McKenna is an English hypnotist and self-improvement author. McKenna has written and produced books and multimedia products, hosted self-improvement television shows and presents seminars in hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, weight loss and motivation.
I just finished it and took the time to copy a lot of the exercises and different ideas out into another book so that they would solidify in my mind. I think that if you have the time to really concentrate on the exercises and incorporate them into your daily life then it will certainly change your life. Mine is definitely different from 7 days ago. I have a very different outlook on myself and my place in the world. I didn't think of myself as worthless before this, but I certainly feel like I have more self worth now. I also really enjoyed the Immunity booster exercise. No I'm not a millionaire with an entourage taking care of my every whim, (that will probably take a couple of months), but I know that the future will definitely be better for me.
I am a strong believer in the power of the mind if you can truly focus it. This book helps you to focus your mind onto what is important and by doing that it will bring you more to your life.
I got this book out of the library and really enjoyed it, even though these books are usually laughable fluff you can't help but glance through.
But, yes, I think it really did change my life. I have several of the catch phrases mentioned in the book - such as: there is no such thing as failure only feedback - on my vision board! When in certain situations they pop into my head.
Also, a few of the visualisation exercise I found really helpful. There is one to combat worrying, and I have used it over and over again.
The CD is actually more fun than you think. Learning to relax and breathe is probably worth it in itself. Trouble is everytime I put the thing on I fall asleep before the end! ;o)
Do not take me wrong, I am usually rather skeptical about this sort of book and most authors who write this type of literature do not strike me with the sound honesty of Paul McKenna. His book is REALLY helpfull if you are trying to renew your life and energy and get into better routines and a more productive phase of your life.
This is brilliantly prepared to couch you into finding out your better, brither SELF and criatively developing your best route to HAPPINESS and FULFILLEMENT.
The tips and advice in this book are great! This book will definitely help but you need to have a positive attitude and the belief in yourself as well as in what McKenna writes.
I keep this book on my "active" bookshelf at home. It is one of a few I turn to whenever I start heading to my negative side. It's a must have for anyone that suffers from depression and/or anxiety.
This will give you an insight into my fleeting mind. It comes with a CD, and to be honest I had a bit of a freak-out whilst i was supposedly "meditating". If you have taken any LSD, Amp's, weed, mushy's.. don't listen to the CD. It didn't really change my life, just made me realise that i have taken way too many drugs and that my mind should remain confinded to "reality" and not altered, even if McKenna tells me it will improve my quality of life. I am only one action away from a mental ward ;0)
At first, this sounds like an interesting and educative book. But when I got further in the book, it felt rather irritating. So many obvious things stated here, not an enjoyable read. I give it two stars because of the quotes and sometimes good life lessons.
Great book, it did inspire me back when I read it as I was looking for a job and was unemployed so was very helpful in that respect. I need to read it again though.
THE new book by Paul McKenna, CHANGE YOUR LIFE IN 7 DAYS, is in my opinion, one of the best self development books this year.
Paul McKenna is world leader in self development coaching and hypnotist, he has several books regarding self image and weight lost, also created several course and programs to facilitate with his teachings. You can find more at http://www.paulmckenna.com
The book is very easy read, and it comes with the meditation CD, and DVD, on the program where the author himself demonstrate and facilitate the reader to practice the techniques from the book to reprogram your mind to work for you.
The book reminded me of Tony Robbins' UNLIMITED POWER, which I highly highly recommend anyone who wants to live a more fulfilled and powerful life. But McKenna simplified some of the scientific side of the mind power, and went straight to the points where he wants the readers to work on their minds immediately after reading the short chapter (thus, 7 days stood true).
This book can really change your life in a short 7 days, especially if you don't usually read this kind of books and take the exercise within seriously and work on your mind daily. of course the author can tell you all you need to know, but if you do nothing about it, nothing will be changed. So, it is totally up to the reader how bad they want to change for the better life. The book has done a great job as far as the "how to"s is regarded.
I have just finished the book and did the exercise as I read it, now I want to go back to the exercises (in my notes) and practice them daily. Your life might not have any big changes right after you did your first set of excercise, but it does change your perspective on all things in your life, and thus help you to get into the habit of living the moments fully. Which I think is vital to live a fulfilled life to anyone, you have to be able to appreciate now, wherever you are whatever you are going through, in order to live a happy life no matter what the circumstance.
Overall, the book did what it claimed to do and the author, once again, shared what he knows on improving people's lives.
If you are interested to find more on the self development material and to really truly want to change your life for the better, while make 100% commissions. (no kidding or fluffing) you can find out by clicking the links below and /or watch the FR.EE Vid on this site.
I love Paul McKenna seriously I do .. I have all his books and read most of them , I even have his quit smoking book although I don't smoke .. yeah that's how much I love him .. this book was a summary of all his previous books put in a neat way in a form of seven days , the problem was I felt all the information I read was just a repetition from his previous books , nothing new in the exercises but the articles were so good and he is a really great man .. I do recommend this book to whoever didn't read anything for Paul McKenna before .. you will sure enjoy this book so much
Successful people make plans, not the beautifully highlighted in pink and yellow with coloured shapes drawn over the top but one you create from within yourself. I did mine in a motorway services carpark where I had stopped for a rest. The CD is an important part yet I can't get mine to skip to the sections. It always starts at the beginning and I am totally relaxed after three minutes. Maybe I will leave it playing just so I can hear what is at the end!
This is only okay. Some useful insights- some visualisation techniques that were almost laughable. Also he made some seriously bold claims about using his techniques to cure cancer and then said things like “I’m not saying this was the cure but... it kinda was” Overall not terrible. I enjoyed the quotes and stories involved, plus the motivation towards the end was nice. Quick and easy read!

The book is very useful but I think its idea rather common. So I rate this book 4 star .Thank you Paul McKenna <3333
Introduction I started this book more than twenty years ago. Put it down, and finally came back to it more recently. When I finally got back to it, it probably took me a month or so to get through it. I think it did actually change my life a little bit though. So, for this review you can also think of this as ‘Change Your Life (a little bit) in 20 years +/- a few extra weeks’.
Introduction (2) This is hokey-as-fuck hypnosis stuff, including a 100% serious discussion of the law of attraction. It’s not my usual cup of tea, but a few things drew me to this: 1) I enjoy keeping some sort of meditation practice, and I’d gone a bit stale; 2) I came to a recent recognition that self-talk can have a massive effect on wellbeing etc (e.g. if you are angry it’s pretty easy to stay angry if you keep repeating angry shit to yourself, and conversely, if you find the right self-talk things can change in an instant).
Summary The book contains a lot of standard hypnosis-y stuff that anyone who’s ever been exposed to NLP might recognise: state determines our behaviours; state is a combination of internal representations and physiology; we need to learn to take some responsibility for these or someone else will; and then a series of tools/ exercises that play off this basis to address various areas of life. Like all self-help books, it is peppered with some nice inspirational quotes. The book comes with a CD (or at least the version I bought way back when did), which contains a 30-minute recording of McKenna pounding you with literally just about every hypnotic suggestion he could think of. Again, this really isn’t my cup of tea, but I liked the recording. I put it on every day either before bed or for an afternoon nap. I don’t think it radically changed my life, but I’m feeling well rested and a bit more chill, and I’ll take that.
Conclusion It kinda surprised me, but if you can get past the cheese, this was good for me.
DNF at 77 pages. Paul McKenna is a hypnotist who's written a whole lot of books. He talks about himself (mercifully not in the 3rd person), and his many successes. He tells you repeatedly how rich he is and how we could get a session with him but we can't afford it. He says he's hypnotized large groups of people and been very successful in changing their lives.
He's written books on every subject imaginable - losing weight, stopping smoking, sleeping better, getting rich. I guess he thinks he can hypnotize people via his books and they'll be successful. Personally, I doubt it, because the book I just struggled through is really terrible, redundant, and a rehash of others ideas. Plus, his own ideas are so bizarre that you just can't do them. "Look in a mirror and see yourself as BIG then small, control time, what colors do you see", etc. Also there was supposed to be a link to a trance state he does, but it wasn't included. Others got CD's or DVD's.
I contacted customer service, and they were completely useless and rude. He has a website and an app, (plus all the books he's written), but neither talk to each other - and yet when you have trouble with one, they say contact the other!
I do NOT recommend this book - or any or his books if they're all like this.
Edit: I signed up for a free week on his website, just to get the trance download. I listened to it with an open mind, but, again, his style is so weird and he talks about absolute rubbish so it's impossible to be "hypnotized" by him. I will say I'll try it again tonight with headphones as recommended, just to be sure.
Paul is a very talented and focused individual and if I was even a fraction as able to focus on my well-being as he is this book would get 5 stars. Unfortunately am more mortal and fallible than that so, while I can logically appreciate how well written and important the information within is, I either can't fully engage with it or engage with it long enough to get the results on offer. While that is a failing of myself, it is also a failing of the book for not catering for mortals like me (of which there will be many). It comes with a free audio CD and again, very logically great but, again, my issues are not based in logic. And that is why this book is a failure in my eyes. Am an emotional human being, not Mr Spock. No regrets about buying it - just displeased with how hard found it to stay engaged with the material, on any meaningful level.
Positive feedback, self affirmation, and guided imagery. Put them together, they're a powerful combination. If you do the exercises, they can make a difference. The title's a little over-hype, but, hey, you have to sell books, right?
One of my favorite books
A great practical motivating book. Taking notes on the exercises and quotes from the book and applying them to my life made a huge difference in the way I look to people and things. I recommend this book to everyone out there.
Lots of very useful tools, fresh and practical perspectives on commonly known methods. McKenna doesn't go into a lot of detail but explains everything clearly and concisely so you understand the first time you read it. Lots of repetition, visualizing and easy to do exercises.
