Toyin is a witch that knows her destiny, and being rejected by her one true love leaves her feeling empty, desperate and hopeless. However, one night, one mistake, birthed a beautiful blessing. Toyin may not be able to have the man who owns her heart but they will forever be bonded through their son.
Xander is an Alpha who refuses to lose this family even if it means denying his heart. This one time, the moon goddess may have gotten things all wrong. His only recourse is to endure the pain of denying his mate while focusing on his son.

Awwwww shyt! It’s the battle of the werewolves and the Bennett Pack is in the lead! Xander has been runnin’ from his fated mate like a runaway slave since she was chosen for him by the Moon Goddess. But, not because Toyin is a witch. He’s been runnin’ because of a prophecy his mama use to tell him as a bedtime story that might actually be true. As far as Xander is concerned, as long as there is even a hint of truth to the prophecy, he is determined that he and Toyin can never be together. When Xander finally comes home after his self-imposed me time year long journey, Toyin has a 10 month old gift waitin’ for him at the doh. Insert head tilt here. While the Bennett Pack is tryin’ to find a solution so Toyin and Xander can be together, the evil buzzards are circling the block. With Baby Rafe’s being the product of a witch and a werewolf, his future powers have put him on someone’s radar and that someone wants Baby Rafe’s powers for himself. Hexed Wolf was a great addition to this series. Xander’s story did not disappoint. It gave me all the suspense I didn’t ask for but, needed. I’m looking forward to Zion’s story but, what I’m not looking forward to is Keerah being his mate. I guess we just gon’ forget about her f*ckin’ his brother for three months huh?!!! Nah! I don’t accept this. Keerah’s pick me energy was embarrassing and underserving of a Bennett Pack member. We, the members of the Reader Pack, do NOT accept her. Find somebody else!
The Bennett pack is back in the building and big brother Xander has his hands full dealing with his little spell casting mate🔮. If you’re reading this, then I can only assume that you’ve read Lone Wolf. We left off with a huge reveal after Xander finally returned to the pack from his “find myself” journey! Or maybe he wasn’t trying to find himself. Whatever it was, was a coward move.
Xander spent most of his time keeping Toyin at arms length and despite her clearly being his chosen mate, no one could understand why he was fighting so hard against his natural, animalistic desires. Toyin was determined to get Xander to submit to his desires and took matters into her own hands and sadly things backfired! Xander felt that his only option at the time was to dip and cut off all communication with his pack. While away the other Bennet men took Toyin under their wing to protect her and the product of her and Xan’s love, baby Rafe!
When Xander returned and not only discovered what he missed but also revealed the real reason why he could never claim Toyin, everyone went into fight mode to defend and protect their family!
Just like book 1, I thoroughly enjoyed Xander and Toyin! The progression of the story captured my full attention and flowed really well! K.C. has definitely shown range with this series. I never saw myself enjoying a story of this magnitude but the way she’s written it, leaves me searching for more like it!
I’m looking forward to Zion’s story and hopefully more from the Lafayette crew! I will say that somebody else HAD TO have left their scent behind on Zion’s bed because there’s no way I’m convinced that Zion’s mate is who K.C. says it is! Keerah was trying to get chose and presented as a real desperate, pick me and not worthy of being with an Alpha. I definitely have a few theories on what I HOPE happened but I’ll wait to see if I’m right. Until then, let me go brush up on my howling 🌓🐺 so I can find my BDE shifting werewolf 😏
Who knew I would enjoy a story with wolves, vampires, warlocks, and witches?? Definitely not me, but I enjoyed it.
This was a new story line for me, so I appreciated the originality surrounding the love story. Xander a 🐺 had been fighting his fate with Toyin a 🧙🏾because he believed it would lead to more harm than good. However, during his time away he had no idea that fate refused to be denied and his family had grown. Toyin would forever be a part of his life. Eventually the urge to accept his mate was too strong to deny. Listen when these wolves lay claim to their mates it is nothing less than explosive🧨 for days 😏 This was such an interesting story and low-key reminded me of interracial love and how it initially wasn't accepted. After mating, their connection was so strong the other wolves couldn't deny their love was real. I loved the silent way they communicated to each other and the passionate way they loved.
Idk why Zion was matched with Keerah, but it kind of made sense because she was alone just like Jo and Toyin which seemed to be a thing for the Bennett brothers. I look forward to seeing how that goes.
We left off book 1 with Xander coming back and realizing he had a son with Toyin. We start book 2 with what happened the night Xander left and I'm sorry I would've done the same as Toyin! Now where Xander had me Toyin and the pack f’d up is who he brought back to the pack. I was pissed! Then the forced proximity situation to raise their kid but not be together about killed me 😭. Xander and Toyin’s son Rafe is the biggest blessing even though he was considered a mistake or not possible to happen. Xander and Rafe’s bond is so beautiful and I'm pissed it could have been sooner if he was honest with Toyin on the true reason they couldn't be together. Also once they learn the true history of Toyin’s past all hell breaks and something bigger than their mating bond becomes an issue. This book was spicy, suspenseful, and just a perfect follow-up to book 1! Now let me just say this world is too small cause why the hell is Zion’s mate that girl?!? KC Mills, you really trying to stress us out!!
Okay, book two was good, but I was ready for this one. So... I wasn't as fascinated as I was with the first story. Anyway, I think you will enjoy this one if this genre is your vibe.
I’ve been waiting for this and let me tell you Mrs. Mills did NOT disappoint 🐐👏🏾‼️
Toyin and Xander were such a cute little family with baby Rafe. Just knowing that they couldn’t be together how they wanted was torture for me lol so I can imagine how they felt. I was so excited when Xander finally marked his mate and all smiles when Xander shifted and how baby Rafe took to him instantly ❤️
I’m still in shock at who Zion’s mate is but I CANNOT wait to get my hands on his story!
Toyin and Xander were stressing me out but were able to push through the obstacles. I could feel the tension, anguish, desperate need and want between them. When Toyin was marked I was like finally. Toyin and Xander definitely had a fated bond, and oh what a beautiful and more powerful family they are now. I wasn’t feeling Keerah and the possibility of her being Zion’s mate, why!?
Toyin and Xander really know how to complicate their fate. It works out but lots of twists and turns. The vampire sisters were so funny and gave comedic relief for a life and death situation. Anyway like book 1 the ending wrapped up so fast. It shouldn't have been that easy but I will look the other way. Poor Zion your book is going to be quite complicated. I hope you find your mate.
CN: murder by a partner, dub con (using magic to influence behavior), mind control
I was hoping for an expecting more. Mills is such a dynamic writer I’m not sure why she would short change these characters and not give them the depth I know she’s capable of. Fated mates isn’t a substitute for relationship development. And the plot had the potential to be really interesting but it was all rushed and choppy and honestly had a few holes but oh well, maybe as she gets more comfortable with the genre things will get better.
I definitely love a good paranormal romance. Toyin and Zander definitely delivered with little Rafe. Although they got off to a rocky start I was so glad when they were able to express their love❤. The chemisty and seggs of the wolves is 💥💦😛. Can't wait to see more from this pack, great job definitely 5 star.!!!!!
Yes 👏🏽 this series is fire 🔥!! I can’t wait for more!! The Wolves 🐺, Witches and Vampires 🧛🏾♂️caught my attention in this paranormal story! When she comes out with more I’m invested!
If you are here for book 2 that means you should have read book one. Since you've read book one it's no secret that Xander is now a papa. A fact he wasn't aware of months because after he and Toyin hooked up he ghosted her and the whole pack. In this book you find out why he was fighting the bond between him and Toyin so hard.
Just like with the last book I felt like with the info that was given the story could have easily been expanded on. That's just me because I was enjoying the story so much I wasn't really prepared for it to end. For example, why was Keerah picked to be the host for the mystery powers. Was it because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time? Can anyone be used? Was her being rogue or even a shifter something that made her easily targeted? I also would have liked a little more expansion on the warlock.
With the way this one ended I was ready to dive right into book three to see how Zion's story was going to play out. My flabber was completed gasted when I was hit with the realization that Zion's story has yet to be released. I am hereby petitioning the immediate release of Zion's story so I can be blessed with the knowledge of how his journey ends lol.
I enjoyed this as well. The twist with Xander and Toy being together or avoiding each other. These lives can continue on endlessly, in any direction and I look forward to it. I can’t wait to see what Rafe will bring to the table and I love he has a cousin to grow with. Excited to see what Zion’s story will tell.
The 2nd book in the Bennett Pack series does not disappoint. The family dynamics were shocking & the twist towards the end shook me. I was not expecting that at all. Can you say no way or small world?
Toyin and Xander are mates and they both know it. But an ancient prophecy is keeping them from mixing their kinds together because Xander is a wolf, and Toyin is a witch. So Xander hits the road to journey on his own, but is summoned home for an urgent reason. And Toyin is still there.
This was one had a bit more drama and was emotionally charged throughout. Coming home to meet your child and the woman you abandoned is heavy. I understood why he left and why he felt like he couldn't trust Toyin anymore. That was sad. Because she didn't mean any harm, and things went horribly left. But I like the way they worked their way back, and how when Xander finally admitted what was holding him back, his family banded together to find a solution for him and Toyin. The two of them had great chemistry; you could feel their longing and the angst was really good. I love the way they loved on their son, and protected him together. And when the truth came out about the prophecy and Toyin's past, he didn't run.
I will say that the lore got too be a little too much for me to track in such a short story, but I still enjoyed this thoroughly. And the third brother's mate being the woman they ran off gave much drama. Lol. I wonder if that one will ever come to fruition. Either way, I loved these.
Hexed Wolf by KC Mills is a straight-up emotional ride that had me hooked from the jump! Toyin, a witch with a heart full of love and hurt, is trying to navigate life after being rejected by her true love. I felt every bit of her struggle—she’s got this beautiful blessing in her son but feels so empty without the man she thought was meant for her.
Then there's Xander, who might not be the pack leader, but let me tell you, he’s the real protector of his family. This man is all about keeping his loved ones safe, even if it means shutting down his own heart. His pain and sense of betrayal from the past with Toyin just adds layers to his character. And when an unexpected threat comes for their son? You better believe Toyin ain’t having it. She’s fierce and ready to do whatever it takes to protect her family.
As always, KC Mills brings the heat and the passion, wrapping you up in every twist and turn of this story. If you’re into paranormal romance that mixes heartache, hope, and some serious family vibes, Hexed Wolf is definitely a must-read! I can't wait for True Wolf, Zion's story. I already know it's going to be fire!!
Xander, the eldest of the Bennett alpha wolves, is tormented by the fact that Toyin, a pure-blood Equinox witch, is his fated mate—an impossible union due to a centuries-old curse. When Toy casts a spell on his cabin, the irresistible pull nearly leads Xander to claim her, but he flees, cutting off all communication for a year. Upon his return, he learns not only has his brother Laz had a son, but he also has a son with Toy. Torn between his love for her and the curse that could destroy them all, Xander struggles to trust Toy after she used magic on him.
As dark forces close in, Xander reveals the curse’s devastating truth: if a wolf and witch from their bloodlines mate, the witch becomes an evil force capable of destroying everyone they love. With danger looming, the Bennett brothers enlist help to unravel the curse’s mysteries. But someone manipulates magic, forcing Xander and Toy to mate. As Toy learns the truth about her bloodline, she must unlock her full strength to save their family from an impending evil. Time is running out, and the fate of their loved ones hangs in the balance.
What do you do when you know who your fated mate is, but also know you can’t have them? Being near them causes physical pain, but denying the bond might actually kill you. 😩
Xander and Toyin’s story hit me in the heart. These two know they're meant for each other, soul-deep. But Xander refuses to let their bond cross that final line… until one night, when a force greater than both of them steps in, and they fall...hard.
And that one moment? That one interlude? It sets off a ripple effect that neither of them is ready for. Now they have to navigate the fallout of what’s been awakened and it’s not just love on the line anymore.
Toyin is convinced their fate doesn't have to end in tragedy, but Xander has done his research. His fear isn't just emotional, it's based on ancient magic that says their bond could destroy them both.
What do you do when love is literally a matter of life or death?
The emotional pull, the magical tension, and the high stakes had me holding my breath and flipping pages like please let love win. Can centuries-old magic bend? Can fate be rewritten? You’ll have to read the book to find out but just know, this one left me reeling. 🧡
All Toyin did was cast a little spell to get Xander to embrace his feelings for her then boom we got a whole baby, distrust and a broken family. Turns out the ramifications of said spell were not so little.
What do you do when your mate is a different supernatural species that if yall mated one or both of you would die as a result of that mating?
Well Xander and Toyin have f’d around literally and are about to find out. The curse and their current situation is heart breaking but their son is precious and worth all of the sacrifices.
Of course the dark powers that be won’t let them live through their co-parenting/hybrid family situationship in peace! Not to mention pack dynamics and respect is also an issue that has to be navigated as well as their personal relationship with each other. It’s a whole messy mess!
I read Laz and Jo’s story first and like that one I enjoyed the fast pace of the story and the ride of the read. I love a great story like that keeps you intrigued.
The only thing with both is there is so much exciting potential in the conflict that when it comes down to it is extremely anticlimactic and lacking. I wish KC would delve a little more, not so much to change the pace, but to give a little more substance to what’s already there. Because the build up is great and has me itching to read further.
Also, the way they all treated Keerah is after her acquittal and the discovery of who she is to Zion made me physically irritated.
I will say that I liked this one better than the first one. There were a few issues, such as the whole "I'm a hybrid, but a pure blood wolf." You can't be both. It's either a full blooded wolf or a wolf/witch hybrid, or however else you decide to blend them. Think of Niklaus Mikaelson vs. his siblings. I know these are folklore, and things can be changed, but we still have to make sure some things still make sense. But maybe I missed something.
Also, we got all of this drama about her father, and it ended in such an anticlimactic way. I was expecting this big reveal and fight scene, considering he was supposed to be so powerful, but he died so easily.
The story had potential. It just should have been executed better.

I liked that the story was a quick read, but it was just okay. The premise was interesting but the build up was not worth the anticlimactic ending. Toyin is a witch drawn to Xander, the oldest Bennett brother. He seems to hate her because she isn't a wolf, but there is something more happening.
Once again Mrs.Mills did not disappoint with Xander and Toyin's book. Wearing a ring that insinuates that no matter what, they cannot be mates Xander painfully avoids being more than friends with Toy. An epic rump and Xander disappearing afterwards leaves Toy without him when she needs him. He gets a surprise of his life upon his return and is adamant about not solidifying his bond with her, but magic and truths can reveal all. Will the Bennett pack survive what is to come?
Next is Zion's story and I have a feeling it's going to be a doozy being who his mate is. Read both Bennett Pack books to see what I mean.😉
Okay okay I liked this book a LOT more than the first book. The world Alpha was still over used, but not half as much as as the last book WHEW. It still felt like is was missing a lil pizzazz, but i love the force proximity and the witch/wolf trope! Again rooting for everyone black and there are not many black werewolf/witch books out there, so this was a breath of fresh air. I wasn't a big fan of the way this author writes, I feel like i was just getting told a story more than being immersed or following the story if that makes sense.
I was afraid to read Zan and Toy’s story because it was obvious from the first book that they would be inseparable. KC Mills did not disappoint though! It was highly unpredictable and a plot twist on each page. Such a beautiful story of forbidden love and fate.
*spoiler* Only reason why this doesn’t get 5 stars is because I wish the scene with Toy’s dad was longer. Like we needed more action. I loved the built up to the scene and then it was over.
Loved book one and two of the Bennett Pack and I’m excited to read Zion’s story!

A good story for start to finish. Toyin and Xander were meant to be together, but he had to protect his family first and foremost. The family dynamics were interesting at best. I enjoyed the brother's bonds and Zion was hilarious! I love how Xander was finally able to relax and release his feelings to Toyin, though everyone around them felt they should have been together. Can't wait to read about Zion.
Wow, so much action! I’m so glad that the mystery is over. It was driving me crazy wondering why Xander wouldn’t take Toy as his mate. This book turned out to be really good. It’s going to be hard to read Zion’s book because I already don’t like Keerah. I wish Ms. Mills would have gone in a different direction because that’s going to be messy with her having slept with Xander already.🤦🏽♀️
