Free Fall - फ्री फॉल गणेशची कथा वास्तववादी, आधुनिकोत्तर, महानगरी अशा कोणत्याही एका डब्यात बंद करता येत नाही, हे तिचं महत्वाचं वैशिष्ट्य. या कथेत आशयाच्या अनुषंगाने काही सामाजिक मुद्दे येत असले तरी ही कथा हल्ली प्रतिष्ठित असलेल्या सामाजिक वास्तववादापासून दूर आहे. तिला कल्पनाशीलतेचं वावडं नाही. पण मानवी आयुष्य आणि त्याच्यावर परिणाम करणारे विविध घटक या कथांच्या आशयाच्या केंद्रस्थानी आहेत. या कथांचे ताणेबाणे अशा घटकांच्या ताणातून आणि सैलावण्यातून विणले गेले आहेत.

Never thought that I'd become fan of a father-son duo this much!
After Matkari Sr. passed away (RIP), I knew I wouldn't like any other author as much as him at least in horror/suspense genre; and thus I thought of broadening my genre scope and stumbled into Matakri Jr.'s खिडक्या अर्ध्या उघड्या. I already am a fan of any stories having Mumbai in its backdrop. This coupled with 7-8 upper middle class protagonists telling story from their lense, all interconnected with each other. This style was new for me and I was all in for it! I devoured that book & now have completed 4 of his books.
This one is darker than the ones I've read. Again all the stories here are of upper middle class people living in Mumbai. The titular story is worth mentioning for the suspense it creates and maintains till the end, the remaining ones I'll rate more or less the same.
