Being a half-Fae teen in the Witch stronghold of Grimm Hollow, I am little more than a slave. Ash, that’s what they call me. I’m the outlier, the outcast. The green-tarnished girl that they refuse to claim, yet keep under their heel.
My mother’s love for a Fae was a betrayal of her coven. At least, that’s how they saw it. Having me pushed them past the edge, and in a fit of rage, my only parent was killed. But no one knows that. They believe my guardian, the Witch Elder Gloria, who says my mother died by her own hand. Only, I know the truth.
Now, I can’t help but see the irony as my guardian sets her daughter—and protégé—to win the affections of a Fae prince who appears in town. I’m not sure why he’s here, or what Gloria has planned for him, but I know it’s not good.
Rivan is arrogant and charming and though he refuses to heed my warnings, he’s wormed his way into my little half-Fae heart and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect him.
LeAnn Mason is an author of YA/NA Urban Science Fantasy with prominent crime elements, her debut novel Illusionary is set to release March 23, 2018. When she's not writing, she can be found out with her hubby and two munchkins around their Oklahoma home either herding chickens or racing ATVs. Though currently horseless, she has been riding since her early teen years and adores the giant animals so much that she wrote them into her story. Music is another constant in her life, a literal muse to her writing, so it was no surprise to find it entrenched in the pages as well.
Last book in the series. Easy read, quick to finish the book. Again, this book pulled from the fairytales of childhood, this one being Cinderella. Overall, the series was just "okay." This last book literally ended with 'the end,' leaving a few situations unresolved. I don't know if this was by design or because there will be another book in the future. Either way, on to a new book!!
If you love rooting for the underdog, damsels saving the heroes in distress, paranormal small-town romance, YA self-discovery, and fairy tale retellings, you need to read this book--and series--ASAP. The pages almost turn themselves in this fresh and enthralling Cinderella story, resonating with first-love romantic tension, magical danger, and interpersonal bonds. It's different enough that the touches on the original story feel entirely new through the lens of shy and browbeaten Sasha, aka Ash, the housemaid of the narcissistic and powerful Witch coven leader in Grimm Hollow. Her personality comes off the pages right from the beginning, and the tension hooks its claws in you with the mysterious new Fae in town--heightened by the interactions with the fierce Grimm Hollow girls from past books, who all have their own unique personalities that play off each other and add to the story. I'd say you can even read it without having read books 1-3, but those give more context (and are also great).
It was so nice to be back in Grimm Hollow with the best friends a girl could ask for…the Grimm Girls! This series is fun, romantic, adventurous and inspirational!!
Silver Cinders is loosely based off of Grimm’s Cinderella. We see the main character, Sasha, really grow and come to appreciate her differences, instead of wanting to be “normal”. She believes her only true friends are Gus, her little mouse friend and Oakie, the Oak Tree outside her window, where she truly feels safe and cared for when sitting in its branches. But really, the Grimm girls consider her their friend and one of them.
This story is filled with friends, found family, romance and inspirational growth. If you enjoy fairytale retellings, paranormal romance, different kinds of shifters, mages, good witches, evil witches, Fae, magic, and so much more, then you will love this book, or this series! Each book is its own story, but it all takes place in Grimm Hollow and with the same characters. You will want to read each character’s story!!!
“Silver Cinders” the fourth book from the Tale of Grimm Hollow series was amazing!! A Cinderella fairy tale twist that will have you on the edge of your seat. Sasha is a great main character that grows throughout her story. Rivan, the Fae prince is an intriguing character and had me guessing his true intentions at times. Author, LeAnn Mason did a fabulous job writing this Cinderella twist of a tale from Grimm Hollow. I also loved the further development of past characters in the series that are more supporting characters in Sasha’s story. One of my new favorites of the supporting characters is Elder Elsie. She is an amazing and strong Elder. I’m looking forward to the next Tale of Grimm Hollow.
Another great addition to the Grimm Hollow series. This one is the Cinderella installment. So far I’ve loved every heroine depicted in these books, but I really resonated with Sasha. And I’m always up for a good love story. The interactions between the characters was so good! If, like me, you love YA paranormal romance and Fairytale retellings you need to start this series.
What a magical story rich in characters. It was fun to read from the get go. Sasha and her Grimm Hallows friends are full of magic, true friendship and impish sense of humor. The evil witch Gloria, her guardian , tortures Sasha daily. As she struggles to get through each day she tells all her days happenings to an oak tree that resides by her bedroom window. On the day of the annual town ball dance her life changes drastically. Banned from going by Gloria, her friends step up and plan a way for her to go. And so the drama begins. This series is awesome. This author, LeAnn Mason does not disappoint. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Ash....Not a proper name for such a quiet and beautiful soul. This is a badass, paranormal version of Cinderella. An amazing retelling, with all the elements of the fairy tale. Sasha is our Cinderella, with a wicked "house mother" who's the absolute worst. No worries though, there's a happier ever after in this story too
Silver Cinders is the 4th book in the Grimm Hollow series, a modern day version of Cinderella with a whole lot of twists.
Sasha is part of the coven house, but outcast for being part fae. When her mother dies the elder of the coven house becomes her guardian. Sasha is used and treated as lesser than with only a rat and an oak tree as friends. Until the other Grimm Hollow girls decide she's one of them.
Enter Rivan, prince of the Fae, new to Grimm Hollow. With evil plots and spells being cast will Sasha ever get her happily ever after or continue to be a 3rd wheel. Will she discover the secrets of her powers, the secrets held by the oak tree? Will she be able to stop her guardians evil plans and save the prince?
This book is beautifully written, it weaves a spell around the reader and with all the twists and turns it keeps you on the edge wanting to know what happens next.
Highly recommend and would give more stars if I could.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to read Sasha’s story! There was so much mystery floating around her as she tried to blend into the background of the other Grimm Girl’s stories. I finally got the answers I wanted with Silver Cinders!
It was fun exploring her character and seeing how truly awful other characters were behind closed doors. Made me want to reach into the pages and throttle them.
Oh! Oh! And I knew it! I just knew it! (Or, at least, I hoped it!)
This book is so good. If I could give 10 stars, I would. The main character is super relatable. You want to inflict justice to the bad guy. It’s about a half fae girl. She gets treated badly but finds such a good ending.
I have a few thoughts on this book. 1 - the cover is divine. I'm obsessed and I want the dress. Even more so after reading the story behind the dress.
2 - WHATTHEHECKISHERPROBLEMWHYWONTSHEJUSTBENICE.
3 - So glad he realized what was happening before it was too late; I was getting ready to go to war on Sasha's behalf. I've never felt so betrayed by a fictional character and was about to rage quit reading. Definitely keep reading when you get to that part; it's worth it.
4 - how do I become a Grimm Hollow girl? I would love to be friends with these people. They're the kind of (young) women I could use in my life.
5 - I was not expecting that result. I should have guessed, but this particular plot twist was well hidden. I don't want to give any hints or I might give it away. It was too well done to ruin the surprise.
6 - When is the next book? I've read this one 6 times already (I have ADHD and it's my fixation right now, don't judge me) and I need more of this world. Please and thank you.
Can I just say that I love that Sasha FINALLY comes into her own! Her story is filled with so much self-loathing and sadness (with bright spots--because FRIENDS!), but her meeting another fae and actually feeling seen helps her see herself in a different light. I love that she continues to grow throughout the book and learns to accept the things about herself that makes her different or "inferior" in the Witches eyes. And I did really enjoy those few twists that were thrown in. They were definitely a surprise! I'm also glad that Sasha got her happy ending on more than one front; girl really needed a win! Can't wait to see how Nera's story entwines with the past 4 books, now that the door is open for the Vampire Princess's dilemma to be told. And maybe we'll get a bit more background on Rivan's family along with it?
Another awesome book in the Grimm Hallow tales. . Sashe's whole life she has been nothing but a maid to the Mistress of the Coven house until she finally has a bit of luck and meets someone new who spins her world on it Axis. Sasha has never had any friends other then Gus and the other woodland creatures who hang out in the Oak tree outside her room. Until fate brings her to the Grimm Hallow girls who show Sasha what friendship is all about and that standing up for yourself is a reward of its own

I was so excited to hop back into the world of Grimm Hollow!! This world that’s been created, makes you just want to jump into the book each time you pick one of them up! I love what the author has done with her modern re-tellings, especially this Cinderella one! She did not disappoint with our girl Sasha’s story! Magic, shifters, and found family are what you’ll find in this amazing, quick read!
Our poor girl hasn’t been able to catch a break since birth, being born half fae and all.. She’s looked down on, like she’s some one-eyed abomination, an outcast. Nobody in town understands her, except for her dear oak tree, Oakie and the GH girls! They were the friends she had always dreamed of having!
One morning a certain fae prince happens to show up to town and oh boy, does this not only stir up some trouble, but a secret or 2 may be revealed as well.. 👀
