I hate Blake Richards with a fiery passion. Sending that email, telling him exactly what I think about him, was downright cathartic. The nerve of that man to think I’d just sell my family’s legacy to him so he can continue to tear down what makes Scarlet Ridge special.

It isn’t long before he starts to play dirty, buying the community building so I can no longer hold the annual holiday festival there in an effort to force me to sell. But he’s got an even bigger trick up his sleeve. One that threatens to steal my heart and turn my world upside down if I don’t find a way to stop myself from falling for the enemy.

If you love strong men who are a little rough around the edges but always seem to melt like a big marshmallow for the women they love, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, and small mountain towns, then check out Blake and Victoria's story today!

Blake is an OTT instalove standalone novella, and it is the 9th book in the Mountain Men of Scarlet Ridge Series. There’s something in these mountains that seems to attract a healthy population of the biggest and hottest men around. Scarlet Ridge men are just made different. They're rugged, hot, and ready to love. They won’t ever cheat, are hopelessly devoted to the woman they love, and will always do what it takes to guarantee a HEA with zero cliffhangers.

Loving Her Enemy . . .

Victoria Shinn is angry that Blake Richards, CEO of Nomad, Inc., is harassing her over selling her Bed & Breakfast to him as part of his rebuilding of Scarlet Ridge for the tourists. His actions will rip the heart and soul out of their wonderful town. It will no longer be the truly welcoming home that brought them all here to begin with. His vision of a tourist attraction with a mega shopping center, a bigger better ski lodge, and an enormous amusement park will be the ruination of their town and will destroy any of the townspeople’s businesses that still remain after he guts the place! Why can’t he see what he is doing? Is there some way she can make him understand the damage is plan will do to the town? That feeling that makes it “home” will no longer exist!

When Victoria is notified that a new reservation request has just been made, she confirms Trent Dixon’s request to check in the next morning and stay for a week. She only has an elderly couple at the B&B now since business is temporarily slow. But with the annual holiday festival coming up, it will be getting busy. She has been in charge of planning the festival for 3 years and loves how successful it has become. She doesn’t know that Blake is headed to Scarlet Ridge to complete the purchase of the community building where she holds her festival each year. The Town Council, eager to make money, are already agreeing to the sale. And Blake will offer to let Victoria hold her festival there – as long as she agrees to sell HER property to him! He will stay at her B&B and flirt with her to make her more agreeable when he gives her the bad news! There is no way she can refuse him face-to-face. So he registers with his real first name, Trent, and since she likes to call him Mr. Di*k, he will use the last name of “Dixon”. He actually thinks this is going to be “fun”…

Both Victoria and Trent/Blake are surprised at the person they meet. He invites her to sit with him at dinner at her B&B and she is very easy to talk to, not the cold-hearted witch he expected. She listens to him and cares, he can feel that. He comments on all the new construction and she tells him about the selfish developer. Growth can be good, but when a town loses its identity in a mad rush of greed, she doesn’t believe growth nor progress is the result. He asks her to tell him more, so she explains the increased rent forcing many to leave. Then he offers to help. How can he play both sides of this conflict? And what will happen when she finds out he is actually her enemy?

Part of the Mountain Men of Scarlet Ridge series each can be read as a standalone with a of course a mountain man and his curvy girl 😊. Two people with two different view one loves things the way they are feeling like that is what draws people the other wants to tear everything down rebuilding it into something centered for tourist. Blake sexy as all get out mountain man wants to build something that will draw in tourist to make the town more money and fighting with Victoria has been a lot of fun. Victoria, a curvy girl who is feisty, stands up for herself in most situations, loves her town the way it is and does not want it flooded with tourists ruining the vibe of their mountain. They say it is a thin line between love and hate and these two kind of prove that but the banter between them is so entertaining and will have you laughing but is it enough for them to find the middle ground, can she help him see this is home, can he help her see there are some changes that can be made but keeping the home feeling, and will they find happiness along the way?

Blake is book 9 in the Mountain Men of Scarlet Ridge. It is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, enemies-to-lovers, curvy girl gets her billionaire mountain man romance. Victoria is a smart, sassy, and curvy girl who owns and runs a bed and breakfast. Blake is a hunky billionaire developer who is trying to buy Victoria's Inn to make room for new developments. The two seem to hate each other but have never met in person, only sparred via email. When Blake decides to check into the Inn, he is immediately taken with his feisty, curvy beauty. She is attracted to him too, but he is keeping a secret. What happens when she finds out? Will she trust him? Hate him? Or love him? This couple's chemistry was pure fire. I loved the verbal sparring, and after a bit of drama, we got a very happy ending. I'm sad this series is coming to an end, and I enjoyed them all so much.

What a way to end the series. All of the men of Scarlet Ridge are hoy sexy mountain men. We have heard Blake’s name in previous novella and we are finally meeting him. He does not disappoint. Blake us a business tycoon who goes after what he wants. He has bought up slot of Scarlet Ridge with the purpose of making a tourist destination and shopping center there is just one thing standing in his way. Victoria. She owns the bed and breakfast. He needs it to complete his vision. He never expected to fall for her and change his plans. Problem is she hates him. He needs to change her mind. This was such a good story. Blake went all in for a Tori. Tori is sassy, and hot head and independent. I recommend the entire series.

Blake Richards owns the development corporation that ready to change he face of Scarlet Ridge. Victoria is the one woman who stands in his way. This feisty woman sends him emails addressed to Mr. Dick. He’s prepared for a fight but when he meets Victoria all bets are off. Blake checks into the B & B as Trent Dixon and sparks fly. Each is passionately defending their own vision for Scarlet Ridge but eventually they begin to soften their stance and Blake comes to see he may have gotten a little high handed and backs off on his vision. Victoria is really drawn to the handsome Trent but once he confesses his real name she sees red and the man does his best to win her hand. Warm heart fully engaged story.Victoria gives him back that sheer joy of being a kid in Scarlet Ridge.

Safety and Spoilers

Safe. No ow/om drama. H caused all the drama. He lies to the h repeatedly about his real identity and is scheming to get the h to sell him her inn. I wasn’t a huge fan of the H. He was a little manipulative and didn’t think he was doing anything wrong. h was extremely angry and she made him grovel and prove his feelings and that he changed.
Nothing really mentioned about either of their pasts. Both are not virgins.
No cheating
