Trying to fix myself, I allowed Jace to claim me. Does it count though, if you do your best to convince yourselves it's a dream? I was hoping that would be a fresh start for us, because I'm getting closer to his packmates, but...for being fated, it's awfully hard to stay together.
Thanks to the new bond, I experience part of the explosion with him,and I turn into a deranged monster tryign to get to him, but what if we can't find him?
There aren't supposed to be this many hurdles when you find your pack; you're supposed to meet, mate, and build a life. So why is it so hard for us to get this last step right?
This is part two of a duology, and does include a HEA. This is a reverse harem novel and does for sure for sure include adult content, so 18+ y'all.
Kelsey Soliz is a homeschooling mama of four and army wife, and when she's not drinking copious amounts of tea or playing bassoon, she is dreaming up all kinds of romance story scapes or reading them like a maniac.
Shabby and rushed. A big disappointment from This author. I don’t even know where to start to review this book, I’m lost for words of how bad it was.
1. The big cliffhanger we got last book? Well it was barely touched on this book and it was brushed off. The whole deal lasted 2-3 pages and we never got any clarity. The guys and anyone really questioned at any point if someone attacked Jace and who it might be. No one investigated the accident and it was just “we found him passed out in the road away from the accident, okay let’s more on and have sex”
2. Aspen (fmc) had zero character growth. We were in 80% and she was still insecure, doubting everything, and forgiving easily. She was one dimensional character.
3. There was grovelling from the guys BUT the fmc never held them accountable. She would have quick words outburst but in the next 2min she would be sobbing in their shirts and followed by a sex scene and the whole topic complete forgotten will this cycle repeated again without any real deep conversations.
4. She “heal” but that just meant she was D*ck heal. Honestly that was most of what was going on in this book. There was a little but of a plot which usually didn’t end up in anything and the pages of sex. It was too much smut.
5. Choppy plot!!! We had so many story lines running parallel and never really going into them. So the accident of jace? Brushed off. The OW was not even mentioned until 30% in when she came to tell them she was Preggo. That was super weird and then fmc running off for half a minute. So unnecessary. If you are going to bring a plot at least make it count. The potential baby/pregnancy with the ow from the pack was not even talked through, and again brushed off. Then about the dad Jeff, we don’t hear from him at all, no interactions..nothing! Until the end that was lightly mentioned he was in jail. The whole “heroes” pack heirs sooooo unnecessary!! Why? Also Annabel plot, we really don’t care.
6. OW was let go so easily! Honestly the guys never did anything to her more than tell her to leave their house twice. Then the story line between her and the heirs? I mean why? It was also brushed off and tbh shouldn’t even been there.
7. We don’t even get to see ando en give birth or the baby. Was it a boy, girl? Who does the baby look like? End was horrible.
The whole book is soooo bad. Honestly even worse than book 4 of WITSEC.
So I'm really having trouble rating these past two books. The story is great. I love the way that the FMC is given a chance to heal. It is just very specific things that I feel like are a bigger deal, and I shouldn't give an easy pass on. The biggest here being that Easton is gay. He very plainly states he is gay. He states that he has no interest in, nor never has had any interest in women. Full stop. Apparently, however, the bond is some magic hoodoo that makes him want this magical vag so much that he makes a mess in his pants? And he's ok with the fact that it basically invalidates his sexual orientation. He can reminisce with the FMC about being excited about dick before, but it's just no longer a thing. Her magical vag has put the kibosh on him finding men attractive. Now hear me out, but I just don't think that how this thing works. It just made me sad because I really liked Easton and felt like it was a HUGE disservice to him as a character.
Anything else were minor issues. Everything good and self validation of worth were attributed to the Moon Goddess who didn't make mistakes and Fated them to be together, but Arabellas actions were in no way a reflection on the triplets. I find that people do this with modern religion as well, so although it raises an eyebrow, it's not such a big deal
I really did love the world this author has built in these three novels. I am excited to see a book written about the triplets. I see the "tricks the mates body to think their chosen is their fated mate" technology possibly playing a part, but am leery. It's not much different than what Arabella was doing. Her research would have been perfect for someone like the triplets that didn't want to be linked to someone who didn't want them and was pretty evil. I think both could be used with mal intent, but I'm excited for their story.
This definitely should’ve been combined into one book. So much couldve been cut to make it a single book that was 350-400 pages.
Aside from that I’ve read better and I’ve read plenty worse of this exact trope. So it was a perfect example of mid for a specific book trope lol.
The plot of this series overall is super unique. Rejected shifter women all living in the same shelter, each with stand alone love stories for getting back with their pack. I read 3 of them and they were all miscommunication ones, however, the one set up for next they killed their mate, so it’ll actually be an entirely different story line. Either way it has a ton of potential overall as a series, the execution just isn’t fabulous so far, but it did get better each book.
Oh and I do want to mention the amount that the alpha shifters were crying??? Absolutely nuts. Why are they crying every 4 pages??
This is a nice conclusion, though I didn't like some things here, namely the way Arabella got.the easy way out, only because she's the alpha's sons mate. She KILLED a dude and was going to kill Aspen, still she got a nice place to stay until she got birth and then mercifully got an injection (Rolling my eyes). It felt as if the author was sorry for her, when she wasn't sorry at all for what she did, not only to Aspen and her alphas, but countless other shifters and only because she could. Anyway, besides that, it was okay. Not a lot to say tbh.

I cannnnnnnot wait till the next book. These have consistently superseded my expectations.
I love the heartbreak and rebuilding of the soul s f how hard they worked to get there.
The alpha triplets will be stupendous in the next book. I have been dying to read it and have been anxious about the new pack and not going back to her old one. Can’t wait for her to meet the brothers.
We have had a few touches on the girl who is used by her mates and her son as well and I hope the book comes out sooner than expected.
Amazing and well written series. You feel the heartache and happiness not just read about it
What. A. Ride. If you thought Part One was a whirlwind, Part Two throws you straight into the emotional tornado secrets unraveling, surprise pregnancies, betrayals revealed, and action packed in from directions you definitely didn’t see coming.
Willa though? OWNED this book. Every time she appeared, the energy shifted smart, sassy, and lowkey the heart of the whole series. My favorite moment? That scene with her and Curtis: “I forgot that your momma is tough and can look after herself.” “Rookie mistake.” Iconic.
Now to the rest... buckle up.
We finally get the truth about Devon, and wow that reveal alone blew the roof off. Combine that with Zero’s shady underground dealings secrets came pouring out, and I was here for the drama. Aspen being part of a secret group helping rejected mates? Cool but where was that buildup in Part One? It felt like new plot threads were tossed in just to amp up the action, without earning their place in the story.
There were so many plot threads running wild and barely any of them got real resolution. Jace’s accident? Brushed off. Arabella? Vanishes until the 30% mark just to drop the “I’m pregnant” bomb and disappear again. The whole “Heroes Pack heirs” angle? No payoff. And don’t get me started on Jeff completely absent until a blink and you miss it mention at the end that he’s... in jail?
The pregnancy drama with Arabella (other woman) with the pack heroes was also majorly underdeveloped. Why bring in something that loaded if you’re not going to explore it?
Now let’s talk about Aspen. She’s been through hell, no question. And her strength, especially for Willa, is admirable. But character growth? Flatlined. She spent most of the book doubting everything, pushing back for two seconds before melting into someone's arms cue steamy scene and then boom, conflict forgotten. No real accountability from the guys, no deep conversations, just rinse and repeat. By the time she mated them all, it felt more like resignation than resolution. Felt like Broken Wolf all over again.
Also the guys cried. A lot. For characters who were built up to be alphas, warriors, leaders… some of the emotional reactions felt out of place and undercut their earlier personalities.
And then... no birth scene?! No baby details? or who the kid looks like? After all that buildup, that felt like a missed emotional payoff.
Final verdict? Messy, dramatic, and often frustrating but somehow, I couldn’t stop reading. The ending delivered enough payoff to satisfy me, even if the road there was rocky. Definitely not perfect, but I’m still curious about what’s next especially that teased storyline about the girl used by her mates and her son. That one? Feels like it’s gonna hit hard.
I know, an original title, but there was so much that happened in this book. The reason that Devon disappeared blew it out of the water. All the secrets, it all came out in this book. Zero had a bunch of underground stuff going on, and Aspen was part of a secret organization to help the rejected mates but it was so much more than that and there wasn’t any hint in the first book about any of this. It did feel a bit odd, like it was thrown in for some action but regardless it kept my attention. I wasn’t sure how I would like this duet. I hate reading about cheaters and on a technicality they didn’t actually “cheat” on her. They technically didn’t know she was their mate. They had issues communicating as well, especially at the start. Aspen is an incredible character. She’s a strong female, going through heart wrenching moments and keeps on going, for Willa. Her daughter. Once Sawyer started asking poppa Vince questions and voicing aloud his suspicions about their senses possibly being dull. It became clear to them what they were missing. The guys all cried often in these two books, which threw me off since they all had strong personalities, it just didn’t fit some of the scenes. Willa is still my favourite character. Her little quips made me laugh several times. Aspen mated them right away after learning she couldn’t fight fate. The bedroom scenes were hot. I was disappointed that Aspens wolf never surfaced again. I was really hoping she would get that part of her soul back after everything settled, and I am so sad to read Devon didn’t survive. He played a key part in her mental health when she first got to the shelter. Arabella, man she was a peice of work. I’m really sad that the triplets have to experience raising a baby on their own just like Aspen did. Overall this book was cleverly written, it kept me interested all day and I read it with a few hours. I just couldn’t put it down. Thank you for this intricate story Kelsey.
I FELT like I waited Years for this part 2 of Lost Wolf because I wanted to read it that bad. It was so worth the wait. I love reading rejected mates books especially with you have the FL rejected but it makes her strong but still needs those rejected feelings nurtured by someone who truely loves her. What I loved with Kelsey's book and writing it took the rejected Woman to a whole new place compared to other books like this. As is book one we know Aspen lost her wolf due to rejection and left pregnant the only place to go is a rejected shelter where they hide the poor women away when their mates are the awful ones. Aspen has her daughter Willa and as in the first book mets 4 of her other mates who had zero clue she'd been rejected by their other 2 pack mates and they were livid. They Managed to bring Aspen and Willa back home and try and build up her love and trust. Then there's The ex she still believes their her mates. With the end of book 1 not knowing what's happened to Jace, this book started with a bang and didn't disapoint. I got the book today and didn't put it down till I finished. There is so much going on in part 2 that makes Aspen finally know why things went the way they did when she met her first two mates. But they aren't the only lives who've been played with and hurt with mate bonds. This book is exactly what I wanted out of the second book and there are so many shocks. Will there be a real strong HEA for Aspen her mates and their daughter? And this book is totally worth reading to find out.
If you thought Part One had emotional whiplash, Part Two cranks up the back-and-forth even more—especially between Aspen and Jace. Their constant push and pull got exhausting at times, but it also made their final decisions feel more earned. The biggest highlight was Willa. Scene-stealer. Chaos goblin. Little Beastie was the best character in the whole series. One of my favorite moments was between Curtis and Willa: “I forgot that your momma is tough and can look after herself.” “Rookie mistake.” I would read an entire spin-off from her POV—she brought energy, wit, and just the right amount of attitude. She get it from her mama!
And Aspen continued to slay, especially when she calls out tired excuses with: “That’s a stupid line. The whole it’s not you it’s me thing? That’s so tired and cliché. Try something new, won’t ya?” She definitely got the grovel she deserved from all her mates, which felt satisfying after all the drama.
As for the ending? I had no idea how Kelsey Soliz was going to tie it all together, but she nailed it. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the twist changed everything—and suddenly, it all made sense. Justice was served, love won out, and the Crowley Pack finally got their happily ever after. Honestly, this felt like the right sendoff for these characters. Bit of a bumpy road, but the ending was worth it! 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺 HEA? yes 3rd act break-up? no 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
My favorite thing about this book (this duet) is the way it subverts expectations. You think she's going to be a damsel, she wields a knife like a crazy person. You think the book will begin one way, it begins another way. You think the main conflict will be resolved one way, it gets resolved in a completely different way.
Many times, the way this happens is by making a potentially really stressful but typical conflict just not happen by resolving it another way and thereby creating a new, unknown problem variable. Did it get resolved too easily? Is this just a low-stress book? I personally love that, regardless of whether a new conflict appears because I already live with stress and anxiety all the time. I don't read books for angst. I read for the funny and sweet moments and the HEA.
I especially liked the set up for the next (fourth) book in the Rejected Mates of the Shelter series. I highly recommend this duet, as well as the first in the series, Broken Wolf, and it looks like I'll also be recommending the fourth book, Tamed Wolf, as soon as I get my grabby racoon hands on it :)
Book one and book two were absolutely heartbreaking. Thankfully, if you’ve read anything by Kelsey Soliz, you know two things: 1) you will absolutely get a wonderful happy ending. 2) her writing style will bring humor and levity that’s so needed while your heart is breaking.
Part one left us on a devastating cliffhanger, but lucky for you, you likely haven’t started this duet and so when you do start… you won’t have to wait like I did to see what happens. 😂
Our FMC, Aspen, has justified fears of being rejected almost constantly. While her alphas weren’t fully at fault, they still have some groveling and reassuring to do. Our six alphas aren’t without their own mental barrier and baggage either. Their journey is hard fought and sometimes hard to see, but it’s also extremely sweet, heartwarming, and full of hope.
The spice in this is delicious and there’s quite a bit of it. There are some intense spicy scenes but nothing with a lot of kink.
This story just got dumb. There was a way to do this without going so over the top ridiculous. And then on top of all that you just had to kill Devon. Rude.
This was still just a bunch of the same drawn out convos about how they all tricked up and love her and blah blah blah tossed in with a hunch of sex.
I don’t even follow the timeline that’s barely understandable. Someone please explain to me how Jace gets blown up and kidnapped briefly and they all just act like nothing happened and go about their boring conversations?
Then you throw in another woman who thinks she can claim one do the guys and purposely makes sure Aspen catches them. Like, come on. It’s not original when you’ve already got one crazy lady.
The grammar errors in this one were the worst yet. Some of it I just don’t see how they even managed to slip through they were so obvious. The writing was choppy and made so much of what happens just seem random and like it was just a summary of events.
It was just bad all around.

Such a good ending!!! I seriously loved this story so so much!!! I love fantasy and shifters and this whole duet has a world that is so easy to follow and enjoy.
The characters are so likeable! I love how each character has so much personality and I also love how the author gave us POVs for everyone.
I definitely recommend! It’ll pull your heart strings in the best way. All the problems were resolved in an awesome way and I love the tiny tease at the future chapters for the other book in the series to come.
Side note- I love how everyone in the pack wasnt perfect. From their looks to their quirks and that made it so much more believable. The way they speak of their insecurities is relatable and I think helps you really love the characters and root for the HEA that the deserve (and receive)
Lost Wolf: Part 2 is the conclusion of Aspen’s story and picks up in the aftermath of the explosive conclusion from the first book. I’ve been looking forward to this book since I read its predecessor and was left with my mouth hanging open and it did not disappoint. I loved reading about Aspen slowly accepting her mates and making amends with the two who let her down the most. I loved the twists and turns and finding out the answers to questions that kept popping up throughout. I also love that this book has left me looking forward to the next book in the series, there’s nothing better than when a good book has you wanting to read the next one. Overall, this was a fantastic book and one I would recommend reading.
I liked this duet overall. The FMC was sassy in an approachable way, not at all obnoxious. I think maybe the two alphas who tossed her out on her ass in book one needed to grovel more. There was a reason they didn't recognize her as their mate, sure, but they were still complete jerks about it. Not really much of a grovel other than apologizing.
The one thing that didn't sit right with me is that all of these alphas were brothers, and one of them is gay. He is mated to a woman and there was really not much discussion there and zero hesitation. I didn't like how it made his sexuality feel like a choice. I wish that one of the guys had not been a brother and had been someone for this alpha to have in a MM relationship along with the FMC. So, a MMFMMMM situation essentially.
I did really like the first two books n this series but not really a fan of this one. The way the characters are presented makes them seem immature possibly mid to late teen years? It’s also an absolute turnoff reading children that speak like grandparents. My kids were developmentally advanced and said a lot of things everyone seems as mature beyond their years, but Willa makes remarks like an 80 year old. The language and sayings are out dated. So I had to stop this book half way through. I usually love Kelsey’s books, but it almost seems like she’s not the author, the writing style is a bit different and segue between chapters, even paragraphs are disjointed and don’t flow well. I’m sad because she’s been one of my favorite authors.
Part two of Aspen’s story was just as good as per one! With a lot more grovel, a hefty dose of spice, and more humorous lines from Willa it was hard not to fall even more in love with story!
Aspen has grown so much with the help of her mates! Things may not be perfect yet but she’s a survivor. There isn’t anything that fierce momma can’t overcome!
Watching the MMCs slowly make things up with Aspen while also growing themselves was so rewarding! I can’t get enough of them all!! Some of their spice scenes *chef’s kiss*!
I’m excited to get to dive back into this world with another rejected mate story in the future!
Such a great end to Aspen's story. It wasn't as much of a rollercoaster as the first book, but definitely had me in my feels. I can't wait for the triplets book! They deserve so much love and acceptance after this. Their hearts are so pure!
As for Aspen, Willa, and the guys: it tugs at your heartstrings how they all finally come together and mend what was broken. Toxic people and companies only out to do wrong, they work hard to destroy pack lives and love. So much betrayal and pain, but eventually love conquers all. Definitely a must read!
3 1/2 stars for 2 books. I did think it was overall very entertaining. Loved the angst. The flow of the story was just kind of off for me. The MFC runs off a lot, then is super strong the next second. The “villain” seems to pop up unexpectedly. All of a sudden there is some side plot with the MFC forgetting she is involved in a secret society helping the rejected mates which somehow resulted in the company losing billions, a weird kidnapping, and an underground lab. It just came out of nowhere. I did think all the H’s did a good job explaining their feelings

I’ve read 3 books so far in this series and can honestly say that the author has a way of telling the story that draws you in and lets you just soak in the emotions of each character. The storyline is intriguing and keeps you reading. I tend to get bored by the time I reach book 3 in a series and end up moving on to something different, but I will be continuing to book 4 because the author has given enough clues in the last book to make me want to know what happens to the new main characters that I am compelled to run to book 4 and keep reading.
“But whatever, that doesn’t matter. Seriously? You guys like, what, know each other?” “It removes a lot of hurdles, that’s for sure,” Aspen says.
By “hurdles” she means the whole reason I was still reading this book. I pretty much just skipped to the end after this and the last chapter wrapped everything up. This had no depth or angst,no character growth, but lots of cringey dialogue and what I’m sure is basically incest.
This duology is fine for anyone looking for a rejected mate fix, but I don’t think I’d recommend it for anyone else.
The men sort of just blend together. They all have the same personality, for the most part, and there aren’t a lot of distinguishing characteristics.
The second book jumps between plot points without a smooth transition. Literally, there are times when one scene ends and it’s unclear if the next chapter is continuing the same minute or days/weeks later.
2.5 stars After part one, this was a bit disappointing. Felt very rushed (as in wrapping up the plot), a lot of things that suddenly was introduced in this part felt very to be coming out of the blue and added little or just confused the story a lot more, and seemed to just be here to tease the next book (different characters).
After the ending of the last book I couldn't wait to jump into this one....and I won't lie, I was a bit disappointed. I loved the bit of suspense, enjoyed that that became a true pack, but wanted more...more drama, the birth, facing off with Jett, why were Arabella and Jett doing what they were doing?
4+ stars for the second half of this really good story. No sleep needed when one is lost in a good story. Justice is served, family is loved and happy. Another child is brought into the world. So very much growth in the characters as well. Only sad her wolf never returned.
So this duet was better than I expected. I loved the characters, the suspense, and the spice parts. It was funny at times with a great Ending. I want to read more from this author.
