Follows a little girl of colour and her white dads as they explore the question of why people sing. The images that accompany the different reasons - to say I love you, to pray, just for fun, or to speak truth to power - feature different communities around the world and all the richness that each culture contains. The words are simple and few, but there is lots to look at and discuss in each picture. A great way to easily differentiate reading for different levels and attention spans.

Why do we sing?
See as one little kid, her kitten and her two dads answer the question of a universal language that speaks across nations, cultures, history, and asks, why.

Enjoy the delightful colorful illustrations by Sam Tsui and the writing of couple Tsui and his partner, Casey Breves!

It's a shining picture book!

A wonderful look at all the different ways we use singing, through history up until now, and how it brings us all together. Gorgeous illustrations and a simple rhyming text (along with an adorable cat) make this a very enjoyable read for anyone who loves music.
