Rate this book
In this salacious yuri/Girls’ Love tale by the creator of Transparent Light Blue , one young woman becomes trapped in a cycle of blackmail and infidelity.

Asahina Yuni is lonely–she has a girlfriend, but it feels like they’re barely dating. Pent up, Asahina vents her secret frustrations on an anonymous social media account. One day after class, Asahina is doomscrolling on her phone when she’s swept up in conversation with the striking, outgoing Taki. Taki peppers her with personal questions until she reveals that she’s been following Asahina’s supposedly secret social media. Taki insists that she only wants to talk, and the more time they spend together, the more Asahina can feel herself opening up…until Taki shows her true colors, threatening to blackmail Asahina to get more time alone with her! What will Asahina do once she’s caught in an erotic web of secrets and lies?

Asahina and Natsume are dating and in love, but Natsume’s very closeted and her time is taken up with volleyball to boot. A fellow classmate, Taki, stumbles upon Asahina’s social media account for venting and her idea of keeping Asahina’s secret comes with a lot more than just strings attached.

This is trash. Oh my lord, it is the biggest, most obvious yuri trash pile since Citrus and it exchanges the non-incest incest for ye olde yandere stereotype (or near enough), one who’s preying upon a girl who is making incredibly poor life choices and justifying them the whole way.

Absolutely nobody is blameless in this train wreck. The closest is poor Natsume, whose dedication to her sport trumps what she has with Asahina, but her attitude towards the two of them, while rooted in her past, is driving a massive wedge between them.

Asahina gives lip service to her love, but the sad fact is that she wouldn’t be doing what she’s doing if her needs were actually met. She doesn’t accept what she has at all - chafing endlessly at her closeted relationship and how distant Natsume is in public - and lets it all out in very believably emotionally immature fashion in her posts online. The sulking in this is on point.

The fact that she thinks nobody could ever find her account and puts her picture up there AND can’t stop using it after she’s been found out suggests that either Asahina is dumber than she appears, or she’s simply too addicted to the thrill of putting herself out there (arguably the latter since she won’t even delete the account because of her follower count).

Then there’s Taki. You can tell within five seconds that Taki knows all about Asahina’s little online secret and is using that for all it’s worth. And when she’s talking about the cordyceps fungus that takes control of caterpillars and then kills them…? Well, you can’t fault the manga for being on the nose and you know damn well that Taki is trying to do the same.

This reminds me superficially of the other yandere series I was reading, Love & Heart, which I gave up on because I couldn’t stand it. The two points in this one’s favour are that, well, it’s yuri, and it also smartly doesn’t have that series’ problem of one yandere and a bunch of decent people bouncing off them.

Again, only Natsume should be getting any slack here and even she isn’t doing so great. She constantly deflects Asahina’s affection, changes their plans for the worst because she won’t come out of the closet, and she’s far too friendly with her teammates.

Now, Asahina gets super cranky about that friendliness, but she’s also not looking at it with any actual thought. Natsume is like this because those teammates don’t mean anything. Asahina, who does, paradoxically gets sidelined at the one place where they spend the most time together.

Which is the perfect situation for Taki to just stir up all sorts of trouble while taking advantage of Asahina’s vulnerabilities and, indeed, her litany of incredibly stupid decisions. It’s pretty easy to sit back and watch the train wreck happen when your lead has several paths out of trouble and refuses them every single time.

The yuri content is largely the predatory lesbian and such, but blended with a frisson of real-world fears about how people will treat you. Make no mistake, Taki has issues upon issues and has none of said issues with getting all up in Asahina’s business.

This won’t be getting any awards for representation, but it’s a shamefully fun time if you want one of these stories with a lot of suggestive moments and bad decisions that lead to poor impulse control. If anything, I have no idea how this possibly ends well for anybody (I haven’t ruled out a murder ending yet), and that’s got my attention.

The art’s good, the people are hopeless, it’s tawdry as all get out. I do protest the ‘Explicit Content’ tag on this, as it’s incredibly minimal and even the hints of sex are very vague. Then again, that ‘knee in the boobs’ scene? It doesn’t lack for heat, often in strange ways, and Asahina and Natsume have their own moments.

If you liked classic movie trash like Cruel Intentions, this is reminiscent of that, but gay. It’s a definite step up from the mangaka’s previous work, the nasty and kind of gross Translucent Light Blue. This is nasty, not gross, and revels in it.

3 stars - guilty pleasure reading that’s pretty good at being pretty awful. If the very concept makes your skin crawl (and even if it doesn’t), trust me, this is exactly what you expect it to be. Four star trash, but outside its genre it is not for everybody.

Kind of a sad, a little trashy, Yuri story about a girl who's in love but the one she loves doesn't make time for her while another teases her to the point of maybe crossing the line.

It's already probably hard enough being out of the closet, but to have your girlfriend keep everything hidden, and not make time for you cause of a sports team, while another girl will pretty much do whatever you want seems like a easy choice. But when your young and dumb it's a lot harder to decide what to do. This is a slow burn, kind of sad at times, somewhat sexy at others, overall intriguing look at a relationship gone sour quickly.

Trashy and not great, but watch me read all of it.

The art is pretty bomb though, and honestly, it shakes up a lot of feelings I have about my own past. It's cathartic to remember the years where every innocuous romantic development felt either rapturous or apocalyptic. Very different from the other GL I'm on right now and a fun change of pace.

This was so sweet… until it wasn’t. Asahina has a secret girlfriend and a secret vent account where she talks about her relationship. When Taki, the eccentric girl at school, tells her that she knows about her account, she literally freaks out. What starts out a little intense and creepy turns into being pushed to cheat under duress. So in some ways, I loved and hated this story. The art style is my fave, so that helped a lot!

You know, the weird thing about this manga is that the description is actually wrong. (Who's Taki?) Also the main characters have the biggest tits ever.

Here's the deal: Yuni vents her frustration about her secret romance with Nanase over a secret Twitter she has. Enter Fuuko who starts being very familiar toward Yuni and then reveals she knows about Yuni's account. Fuuko is giving Yuni all the attention Yuni craves, and she has to go along with it to protect her secrets... Right?

What I appreciated about this is the author's note acknowledging how messy this is but also no one is perfect within this love angle (maybe triangle!) I don't know why I was drawn to this, but I'm intrigued enough to continue.

Beautiful art, story takes a bit to get going but I like the slow burn, at a point it's too slow though, also I wouldn't mind more spice. The topic of this is more than problematic and Fuuko is really a bitch - but then, isn't that half the fun of reading this? I'll continue with the series!

The story is kinda speed and creepy at some moment but I love it. I was scared when I see it was a love triangle but finally I understand it so well. But it’s my first manga so I don’t know if my opinion objective.

I am writing this having read volumes 1-6. This whole manga is trash, objectively, but in a very intentional way that is exactly what some people will want. It is an absolute drama-fest full of cheating and lying and manipulation, toxic people and relationships, and unrealistic everything. Most of the people in this manga are terrible people except for one who is an idiot, and one who (so far) seems to be a normal nice person who is caught up in the drama. So, if you want a drama full of toxic people then this is probably a good fit; if you want something realistic, romantic, or wholesome, then keep walking. Sometimes you just want to watch the dumpster fire, and there isn’t anything wrong with that! Oh, and the art is well done.

Rating manga volumes is hard; not a lot happens in each one after all as they are only a piece of the story. 4-star rating is based on the assumption that you want to read a toxic mess of a story. Withholding the last star because this is very unrealistic; I can’t follow the characters motivation other than “this is what we want to happen in the story”.

Volume 1 is filled with this sense of dread as you wonder what is going to happen. Not much actually does happen, but it sets things up nicely for what’s to come.

[review for the whole manga as of now (6 volumes)]
Loved the toxic yuri, but I‘m not a big fan of the random mommy kink thing at the end. Not to mention how unnecessarily oversexualised the characters are. These girls are 16, their boobs don’t need to be this big😭Eventhough the characters are unarguably bad people, especially Asahina and Fuuko, I still like how they’re written. Only Yuki‘s character still feels so flat to me.
Definitely an addictive manga and the toxicity of the relationships is something that got me really hooked. I like it 👀 can’t wait for more volumes!

Like many here idk how to rate this ... 3 stars is generous but at the same time I couldn't stop reading ... I like reading abt messed up relationships but this is bordering on the kind of predatory that feels a bit too real, which is usually my sign to stop reading bc I personally can't handle that , yet.... I didn't stop reading. so idk , 3 stars

I think I need another volume to decide this one, I’m not hooked from the first one but I’m not dismissing it either. So far it seems a bit…..cringe for lack of a better term. We will see
