Mentions almost every issue effectively.

I read this book as I am a mother of a teenage daughter who was bullied in school. I felt this book did not address bullying that well. However, other things, that matter to teenagers a lot, were handled well with examples. I like it when a scenario is described, and a solution is presented to resolve it in the best possible way. I have shared a lot of quotes from this book on my Goodreads review.

The book is written extremely well and should resonate with teenagers. I would suggest giftings it to your kids this Christmas as a gift that would help them grow.

Now for why I gave it four not five stars. Bullying is a big issue for people with color, especially immigrants. This book is very generalized. And I suppose that is ok if it needs to reach maximum readers. But here is why it didn't give me enough material to talk to my daughter. We uprooted our foundation and moved to another state to give her a better life. Luckily, she has found her people and is doing well. I feel she is very resilient and has moved on. Once in a while she brings her experiences up and I have nothing to say. Because I feel I have done my part. Maybe I wanted points I could find in this book and present it to her. And I didn't.
Otherwise, this book is a fantastic read and gives excellent points to deal with issues that plague almost every teen.

Very informative

As a teenage girl, there's so much thrown your way. This book, "Survive and Thrive: Adulting Guide for Teen Girls," is like a BFF who gives it to you straight. It covers everything from figuring out who you are to navigating friendships, love, and that weird thing called your period.
What I loved:
Real Girl Stuff: It tackles real issues teen girls face, like social pressure, breakups, and figuring out your feelings about boys (or girls!). It doesn't sugarcoat anything, but it also isn't scary.
Activities Galore: This book is jam-packed with quizzes, journaling prompts, and activities to help you put what you learn into action. There's even a whole section on how to deal with super tough situations like bullying or depression.
Inclusive and Supportive: It uses positive language and celebrates girls of all backgrounds and identities. No matter who you are or what you're going through, this book lets you know you're not alone.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
Better with a Grown-Up: While the book is great for teens, some of the heavier topics might be best navigated with a parent or counselor.
Not a Substitute for Professional Help: If you're seriously struggling with something like anxiety or abuse, this book can't replace professional help. But it can be a great starting point.
Overall:
This is a must-have for any teenage girl. It's a supportive, informative guide that will help you navigate the crazy rollercoaster ride of growing up.

got a teenage girl?

This is a much-needed book for parents of teenagers. I have already started applying some of the ideas in this book, which is why it took me a little bit of time to review. Usually I review right after I read, but this time I wanted to take some time to apply what I learned.

This book is not simply a bunch of platitudes. Put it into action and I think you’ll be surprised at the results. I certainly was!
