A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons
Beelbufo has lived a comfortable life as a pet frog for two decades, enjoying pets, human food, and horror movie nights with his favorite human, Gabe. But when Gabe and Az fall head over heels in love, they decide Beel needs a companion too. Little does Beel know that the charming pet shop owner, Jon, is about to become his unsuspecting caretaker. There's only one small catch – Jon thinks Beel is just an ordinary pet frog.
When Jon's safety is threatened, Beel can't help making an appearance in his human form. Now Jon's eyeing him with suspicion (turns out his cover story wasn't that great), Gabe and Az are up to their matchmaking antics, and Beel really just wants another kiss with the adorable pet shop owner. (Oh, did we forget to mention they shared a kiss? Spoiler alert: it was magical.)
If Beel’s meddling family can stop interfering, Jon can stop being so suspicious, and Beel can stop being so scared of outing his true identity, these two might just get their own happily ever after. (Hopefully with more kisses, because Beel really does like the kissing.)

Por Dios, mil veces mejor que la novela anterior y esto que es un simple relato. ¿Cómo es posible este suceso? Si dejamos de lado el insta-love, el relato está bastante decente y te echas unas risas.

Cute novella
This was sweet and funny and I thoroughly enjoyed the take on the Princess and the frog fairy tale element.
Beel was a perfect demon in frog disguise and Jon the perfect petsitter to fall for the mysterious man who kept turning up when he needed him.

"Who the fuck is the freaky goth twink in your apartment, Jon?"
As soon as Shannon Mae announced we were getting Mr. Frog, ahem sorry Beel's, story I got excited! I was so curious about Beel once we found out Gabe's beloved pet frog was actually a lesser demon. Why did he never show himself? Did he actually ENJOY being a pet? Did he ever pop into his human or demon form while Gabe was not home and go out and do people things? I'm happy to report that this sweet novella answered all my questions and more.
Jon was such a lovely MC. He was so caring and kind. It was also adorable whenever Beel would get that sweetie pie to blush, which was often. And the steam? Holy hell for a man who has spent the last 20 years as a frog he sure has a dirty mouth in the bedroom! What a pleasant surprise!
"You want me inside you? You want me to press my fingers into you, open you up, find that spot that will make you moan?"
See what I mean? I also really enjoyed seeing Az and Gabe again. I found it so cute how much Gabe wanted to finally see Beel in his human form, while Beel was totally terrified of showing him. Those two may not have been able to communicate in English, but they still had a special bond after spending 20 years as companions. As Beel said it himself, he's a wonderful listener and he enjoyed his chats his Gabe even if he could only respond in frog speak.
I'm very excited for the next book! Our gray angel finally gets his own story and it's with someone we've met before! I think they will be quite the interesting pairing and I am looking forward to them getting their HEA.

love this little story about our favorite Mr. Frog. Cute little Jon and Beel's story. Az and Gabe make an appearance of course and Az can't help but be his lusty self. Can't wait for the next installment in this series. shannon Mae has quickly become one of my favorite authors.

This was so freaking cute I can’t even stand it. I laughed out loud so many times during this novella!
Beel and Jon definitely have an unconventional meet cute, as Az and Gabe ask Jon to ‘pet sit’ Beel while they are out of town (probably gettin nasty lol). From Beel’s inner monologue we can already tell he low key has a crush on the hottie pet store owner so this is definitely not a hardship for him. But Beel can’t keep his identity a secret anymore when Jon’s loser ex-bf comes back to put Jon down and cause a ruckus. Beel roughs him up, mildly threatens him with flaying him alive (how romantic!), and then has to somehow explain how he came out of Jon’s bedroom. *I love when Jon is working it out in his head, I laughed out loud*
Beel and Jon are both adorbs and perfect for each other but have their own insecurities. They are so shy with themselves and so fierce about proving the other’s insecurities are not accurate. I love these two so much.

Yea! Beel gets his own story!
Beel is one of my favorite characters in this series and I was really looking forward to reading his story! While Beel's human form is not how I envisioned him, he is exactly what the other MC, Jon, needed - a contemporary with a bit of a bad-boy vibe. The story was cute and satisfying.

Short and sweet, this is just a cute, easy read about a frog finding his prince....or something like that. I loved Az and Gabe, so I was happy to see them back, but I was also happy to see Beel get his own story....despite being a frog.
Very cute and the only reason I had issues with this is because Jonathan is way too accepting or eager or something because, some of the stuff that happens....yeah, Beel explains it best when he wonders in his head how Jon can be okay with this stuff when he loves horror movies???? Just....yeah, something to look at when reading. But, it was cute, so, rounded up!
If you enjoyed the rest of this series and/or you enjoy cuteness, a moment or two of head-scratching, but ultimately a sweet romance blooming, I recommend this.

I loved Beel from Gabe and Az story, so ofc I had to read this when I realized the author gave him his own hea.
He cracked me up with his awkwardness and cover stories. Plus his grumpy croaks 😂, Az also never failed to make it interesting with his scheming. He still very much loves his heated rocks and frog time, I mean come on it was his life for 20 years so he’s attached.
Jon was cute and awkward so perfect for Beel
Steam-2/3 (NO frog fetishes,amen),some tail action, not that detailed really but still pretty good. I think I’m just burnt out on smut so I wasn’t really interested

I already love the series, and this addition was just adorable! Jon and Beel are a great match. I appreciated how each understood the other's insecurities. It was interesting that a demon even had insecurities! But that just made him more lovable. This was a really fun read and I highly recommend it!

This short is so much dang fun, and wow, these two are so adorably akward I loved every single page of it. Beel has been Gabes' pet now for 20 plus years, and he's perfectly good with that. Thank you very much. But Gabe & AZ want their friend to find someone to make him happy, so they leave him to be pet set by Jonothan, who is the sweetest human ever. When Beek steps into comfort Jonathan's ex , Beel has to come to terms. Maybe being a pet full time isn't always the best.
These two are so sweet and so much fun and are just right for the other to make them truly shine and be their best selves. What a great filler side story of an already fun series.

Mr. Frog was such a minor character in the second novel of this series, and yet he was so important! He was happy, living his life topside as a human's pet instead of dealing with all of the underworld drama (and heaven's drama--mostly heaven's drama). I never thought he would be more than that, a minor character, a pet frog, but here he is! With a love story of his own!! Go, Beel!! (also, love how every demon is like "Oh Beelbufo?! Love that guy. Glad he's doing good!"--because in this universe, demons care about each other (and humans)).

Mr. Frog’s Wild Ride to love! just amazing, love this series

Time for the road to romance for Beel the demon pet frog to begin! And what a hilarious journey it is. Beel or Beelbufo, a lower demon, was first mentioned back in book 1. Beel had been summoned by Gabe’s Grams as a pet and companion for the little boy (long, involved, and heartwarming plot thread). Beel ends up happily spending his time (decades as Gabe grew up ) in a lovingly decorated aquarium with a heat rock) watching horror films and eating popcorn, listening to Gabe and becoming family.
Now with Az and Gabe happily paired up as soulmates, Az has plans to find Beel a love life. After all, that’s what a lust demon who’s also an Infernal King of Hell supposed to do! Meddle with the lives of those who have become family.
Mae brings Beel, previously only seen as a furiously croaking frog, into gloriously chaotic life as a confused, frantic demon. Newly back to a human form in decades, bad at deception and absolutely falling for his pet sitter, Jonathan. Who thinks he’s a frog.
While the story ends a bit abruptly, everything that goes before it is a narrative wonder. Hilarious, with moments of genuine sweetness and heart, there’s scenes of high humor and ones of poignancy. A demon frog and pet store owner find their HEA while watching horror films and eating popcorn. How perfect.
A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons: A Demonic Disasters and Afterlife Adventures Novella by Shannon Mae is an excellent read and reason why I have come to love this series and author so.

This was a really sweet and funny novella. It is best read after Gabe and Az's story since Mr. Frog is Gabe's "pet". Mr. Frog, who is really a lesser demon named Beel, is happy as Gabe's pet frog with movie nights, eating popcorn with Gabe, and sitting on a warm rock. However, Gabe, due to finding his soulmate, feels that Beel also needs a companion so Gabe and Az take Beel to their favorite pet store which is ironically named Marty's Pet Store but is owned by Jonathan. Beel has always thought that Jonathan was really attractive and has been satisfied with just getting back rubs from him as Mr. Frog. However, Az decides that he and Gabe are going on a "vacation" and asks Jon to pet sit Mr. Frog/Beel. Jon is happy to do so since he has always thought that Mr Frog was special. When Jon's abusive ex shows up one night, Beel transforms into his human form but doesn't consider that he just pops out of Jon's room and is just wearing boxer shorts. He soon scares off Jon's ex but then has to figure out a way to "leave" the apartment so he can teleport and turn into Mr Frog again. Jon is suspicious. Beel soon shows up in his human form again several times for dates due to being so attracted to Jon. However, the truth soon comes out when Jon discovers Mr Frog missing. Will Jon be able to handle Beel being a demon or is the end of their fairytale relationship. This was such a cute story and make you laugh and cheer on Beel and Jon.

I kept seeing this series everywhere, FB, IG, TT, absolutely EVERYWHERE!! To say I was intrigued was an understatement, and my curiousness finally paid off! I have always been a fan of the dark side of life, the underworld to be specific, but to add a humorous twist to it actually didn’t turn me off but had me laughing throughout the entire novella.

Jon and Beel were perfection in a bottle, siphoned into a bottle of wine with the lid tightened for life. Their chemistry will permeate for many years to come and then some. The flirtatious banter between the two was definitely swoon worthy, and Beel’s mouth was 🔥!! Can I have an order of nastiness to go, please?? And for this to be a novella, Shannon mastered just the right amount of dramatic effects for an entire novel!

Az and his constant sexual innuendos (what else do you expect from the lust demon), and Gabe’s attentiveness towards Beel’s frog form, never leaving him behind, just added joy to the experience. The fact that Gabe was finally able to see Beel in his human form after twenty years will have everyone shedding a few tears 😭

I was so happy when I found out Mr. Frog was getting his own story. He appears in the first in this series, and I loved him right away. He truly does deserve to get his own HEA. Beel is a lower level demon who has been a pet frog for 20 years, and we meet him as he's Gabe's (From book 1) pet and constant companion after being summoned and then never leaving.
I loved finding out Beel's backstory, and why he never left when his summoning was technically done. It was all so sweet. I loved Jon too, such a sweet cinnamon roll of a guy, doing what he truly loves yet being completely unlucky in love. I love that the first time Beel broke his froggy form in 20 was to stand up for Jon because he'd come to realise this sweet man deserved everything. These two together are sweet, hot, and just perfect. Beel, for someone who has been a frog for 20 years has THE filthiest mouth in the bedroom though, my word 🥵.
I loved every word of this, from Az realising what was happening and obviously getting a kick out of it, to Gabe being oblivious, to the sweetest man on earth getting his HEA, to Beel trying desperately to manage being a frog - which he loves, as well as being Gabe's confidante and buddy, to wanting his own life and HEA. This was my first time reading this author and what a fun read this story was! The cover and blurb interested me and I really enjoy reading new to me authors. It was an easy light hearted read and very low angst. And being a novella, it was such a quick read as well.
Beel and Jonathan are such a sweet pair of MCs. Beel is the frog companion for Gabe (from a prior book) who is the soulmate for Az. Az is pretty mischievous and I really want to go back and read their story. These two seem to be set on finding Beel a friend or a companion so he’s not a lonely frog anymore which is how Jonathan enters the story. Jonathan is the kind and caring pet shop owner who ends up pet sitting Beel when Az and Gabe suddenly decide to go away.
Beel and Jon couldn’t be a sweeter pair of MCs as Beel struggles with how to be in his human form and date and Jon deals with his previous boyfriend who doesn’t get the hint. I enjoyed the light hearted rom-com tone of the book. And it’s the perfect meet cute romance with a paranormal twist. Beel has enjoyed twenty years as Gabe's pet frog, before demon Az came along, romanced Gabe and told him that his pet Mr Frog was actually a lesser demon in hiding.
When the couple decide to go away, Az dives in and asks the pet shop cutie to pet-sit Mr Frog.
All is going really well, with cosy movie nights in and pets, until Jon's ex turns up hurling abuse at him.
Beel can't help himself.
He turns into his sexy human form and rescues Jon.
Then has to vanish after a heated kiss to become a frog again.
Apart from starting to date the human.
Jon is of course suspicious but he adores 'Damon' the new guy in his life.
This is hilarious, sweet, cute, awkward, and steamy.
The best bit is Beel as a human helping Jon look for the missing frog.
I laughed out loud.
I also love the found family aspect and the adorable shyness of both leads during their meet-cute - devilishly good fun.

What is a demon to do whilst his owner get together with a lust demon and wants to find you a froggie companion forgetting that you can get your own companion (if you want to) so that you are not lonely. A slight twist of a fairy tale story where a frog becomes a prince. Or in this case a frog becoming a demon.
An absolutely enjoyable read! Full of laugh out loud moments! Beel as a human looking for himself as a frog as Jon thinks he has lost him! Priceless. The support from Az and Gabe for Jon and Beel is so lovely. I love that Beel is so compassionate and caring that he leaves his comfortable heated rock to help Jon when he is confronted by his ex. Love that Beel is such a great listener having been Gabe’s sounding board for so many years and that Jon and Az allows Gabe and Beel to have their time with each other even after they have their own relationships. Love the entire series so far and look forward to the next book!

Yay, Beel! I'm so glad that he got his own story and I absolutely loved this! While not long in length, the author sure doesn't skimp on the fun and sweetness and overall good feeling that this book embodies.
Beel has spent the last 20 years as the pampered pet frog of Gabe. He likes his life - which is a far cry from the tedious life he lived as a lower level demon. But all that is about to change thanks to one meddling lust demon, a human best friend that just thinks you need a buddy (which you totally are not going to share your heated rock perch with), and an adorable human pet shop owner, who is beginning to suspect that the "frog" he was asked to petsit is a little more special than anyone told him!
I literally grinned throughout this entire work and I'm gleefully waiting for the next book in the series. I might be just a little addicted to these books! Solid 5/5* and definitely recommend reading the entire set!

There's no angst here. Only a fun story written from a frog/demon's point of view. Beel, the demon, and Jon, the pet shop owner adorable with a sweet chemistry.. There's no new worldbuilding in this universe, it's already well established. There are some sexy times, but tender times as well. Even when Beel is in his frog form, he's able to make his opinions known with a well placed ribbitt.
Mae's characters are as unique as they are (often without meaning to be) hilarious. And the author seems to be enjoying herself. Which is great because it translates to more books for us.

2.8/5 … I liked this one. Seeing things through Mr.Frog / Beel’s point of view was interesting. Strangely enough, I found the parts from his POV as a frog the most interesting/entertaining. When he took a human form, it obviously changed the dynamics being the MCs, but I think what I really liked about when he was Mr.Frog was that it allowed for more depth and character development—especially since almost immediately upon their meeting in human form, the emphasis shifted to sexual attraction and sex even though Beel was a complete stranger to Jon. So while I get that it was more of a mini novella, which limits how much development can occur, it still made for a rather sudden shift given they’d essentially just met as far as Jon was concerned.
So all-in-all, even with the shift in dynamics—which settled eventually—it was a fun story. Glad Mae shared Beel’s story with readers.

A Heartfelt and Humorous Read
A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons by Shannon Mae was a quick but heartfelt read. Jon is the human who has been unlucky in love and has an awful ex. Beel made his first appearance in Gabe and Az’s story. I loved Beel’s protective instinct towards Jon when his ex made a late night appearance!
One would think a demon would be more practiced in creating cover stories, but Beel is adorably out of practice. Of course, Gabe and Az have prominent supporting roles. I had so many good laughs with this book! I love authors who’ve created universes where we get to visit old friends. There are still a few friends who need their stories told. It looks like Cass is up next, and I can’t wait!

This was a cute story. I started the first book, but had to DNF since I just couldn't keep reading about the Lord and Lucifer being into each other. Skipped 2 only because I've recently read several bi-awakening, and I wasn't in the mood for another book about discovering one's sexuality. It does seem interesting so I might try again later.
Non-binary is incorrectly defined as being "composed of two things", when it actually means NOT (non) composed of two (bi) things. Binary was originally introduced to mainstream language as computer "language", zeros and ones (really "on" or "off"). Ofc, there's also bisexual. So I'm very surprised to see the word used incorrectly, but it did not inhibit my enjoyment of the book. I don't think I'd read it again, though. Hence three stars.
