Finding peace is hard when you're surrounded by the dead.
Morrigan has spent her childhood running from the ghost of people’s past to appear normal and fit in, but her necromancy powers keep bringing her spirits who need closure.
Once upon a time, she found solace in taking care of the archives that were rarely visited by the living, but when an old family curse threatens her livelihood she knows she has to act.
Drawn back to Spells Hollow, Morrigan will have to listen to both the living and the dead to undo the curse and save her sanity.
I loved the overall plot and the characters but it did not feel like it developed naturally.
This book started off strong with an FMC who doesn’t realize she sees ghost. She only realizes at times she’s seen things that others had not and it’s ostracized her from most people. She gets this feeling she needs to visit Spells Hallow, and once she’s there things start getting weird. Along the way she meets 3 guys and they help her develop her powers and fix the curse that is affecting the ghost of the town.
I loved the plot, however,I felt like the solution to solving the curse was kind of vague, like why would some other descendant not have already don’t what she did because it didn’t seem like much. Also, the relationship she developed with the 3 guys seemed out of nowhere. It was not a natural progression. The guys didn’t even really need to be a part of the book and it probably would’ve flown better. Disappointed about that.
This is the second book is this amazing shared world (you don't have to read book one, but I recommend it) and it's a great addition to this world. Morrigan has never fit in with the rest of the world, seeing dead people will do that, but then she meets some guys who don't find that strange. She was just living her best life and then she realized she was needed and everything changed for her
This book can be read as a stand-alone or before the first if you want. I enjoyed it just as much as the first. It takes us back to Spells Hollow. This is a why choose romance, and the FMC is a librarian. I truly love when authors have librarian or history teacher characters.
This second book makes the world richer and more intriguing. I really enjoyed it. I can't for more of this series.
Wallflower Witch is the second book in the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow. This was a quick read but good.
Morrigan not realizing she's talking to ghosts in the beginning and being in such deep denial about the supernatural seems a little far-fetched considering her past. However, once she got on board I loved her willingness to dive right in. I enjoyed the ghost story vibes this book gave. The visions of the past plus the ghosts themselves give the story an eerie vibe.
I'm a big fan of fated mate pairings (at least the good ones.) Things happen pretty quickly, Morrigan and the guys all feel an instant attraction, and there is no angst nothing but love and support for Mor even if one of her guys was a skeptic, heck even Mor was a skeptic at one point. They couldn't attempt to stop the curse without one another.
After reading the previous Spells Hollow book I enjoyed the mention of other magical families outside the Spells coven and what information they might have it builds the world a bit. There was more detailed information about powers that I enjoyed, the magic was a little wild. More aspects of the curse were also revealed, mostly the parts dealing with the O’Byrnes, along with their own dark family history.
Mor's journey, discovering her history and discovering her witchy powers, was an interesting one. I enjoyed Wallflower Witch and can't wait to see what else Spells Hollow has in store.
Spells Hollow Book 2: Wallflower Witch was a nice quick read. Even though I gave it a 3 out of 5, I would still recommend reading it.
I found myself having a love/confused time reading this book. There was a small section in the book where the POV switched, first I was confused what was happening, since it really wasn’t explained that it was the POV of her raven Quoth. Not sure why we had POV of a bird. I kept waiting for more of an explanation on the raven. Like it was her familiar, but nothing ever came of that beside it being her pet. An awesome pet, I just thought there would be more. Not going to list everything here but, I wish some parts in the book had more explanation.
While I did have some questions while reading this tale, there was a lot I enjoyed in this book. It was an interesting storyline, and I really liked the FMC Morrigan. She may have been a shy introvert, but she had strength and would fight to protect the ones she loved. I was surprised that two of her three mates were human, but it did not mean they fought any less to keep her safe.
Wallflower Witch was a spooky ghost story with some humor and spice sprinkled in. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend checking it out. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, excited to see the next story unfold.
⭐ 🌶 ⭐ Fade to black ⭐ Three guys ⭐ Introverted FMC
Wallflower Witch is the second book in The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow. Our FMC, Morrigan is pretty much an introvert, she doesn't really have any friends and honestly, she doesn't seem too bothered by it. After cataloguing journals from Spells Hollow, she feels a need to go there. With her faithful pet, Quoth and her falling-apart car she makes the journey alone. But she's not that way for long.
Morrigan and the guys are pretty much love at first sight, which was a little odd sometimes as I didn't feel the connection entirely between them all. I would have loved to explore their relationship building a little more before everything was over but it is what it is.
At the beginning of the story, Morrigan has no idea she's a witch or the fact that some of the people she is seeing are not among the living anymore, but it gets worse when she arrives in Spells Hollow. For a witch who didn't know she was one, she has to learn quickly before the curse can take over and destroy everything.
A short, enjoyable read and a good addition to the series. Can't wait to read more from the series.
Morrigan is pulled to Spells hollow by forces unknown to her. It's a strange and magical place - for an ordinary woman who has made it her life's mission to stay hidden and unnoticed, this is suddenly crazy. The even more crazy part is, that the men she meets on her way, isn't even surprised when she sees people and hears voices neither of them can hear. With the help from Josh, Patrick, and Matt, Morrigan figures out where she comes from, that she is in fact a descendant of the O'Byrne family that lived in Spells Hollow, that she is in fact a real life witch, and that this place? This place was cursed. My favorite character is Quoth, the raven. I don't know if he really is her familiar or "just" a friendly bird who decides to stay with her when she nurses him back to health after he's been hit by a car (pre-story). That bundle of feathers has some awesome scenes. I adore him.
This is book 2 in the shared-worlds of Spells Hollow, and even though each book can stand alone, I highly recommend reading them all in order.
It’s fascinating how this second standalone in the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series has a completely different energy compared to book one. “Wallflower Witch” is spookier and has a more sinister feel to it, but that’s all compensated by three men who have no doubts they met the woman of their dreams.
I like the fact that our fmc isn’t a badass from the start. She’s bookish, a bit shy and has found ways to become part of the decor. Her character building is done really well, because of the way she embraces her power and most of all for the reason why she does it. It fits with her ‘hidden gem’ personality, and it was quite nice to watch three men see what a gem she is from the start.
Whenever I read a standalone, I prefer them a bit longer than this one, in this case because the relationship building feels a little rushed to me. Still, that is a personal preference and luckily the story in itself was gripping from start to finish.
Morrigan works in a library, archiving old texts. She is very much an introvert with her roommate being a raven she helped and befriended. She starts to see signs that she needs to check out a abandoned cursed village that was founded by a coven of witches. After she arrives, she starts getting strange images and runs into Patrick, a warlock whose family has looked over the village for many years. This starts a journey that changes her forever. I really liked this story. I loved meeting Morrigan before she knew about her heritage. This book moves very fast paced and I appreciated the section in the raven's pov, it helped with the instalove. It was pretty low on the adult content, bit that didn't bother me. The first book in this series definitely covered that. If did give me a better idea of what the premise will be for the entire series. I can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend.
This is the second book in the Spells Hollow shared universe. All the books are standalone and so far the crossover comes from the setting and the town's history, rather the people.
Morrigan is a librarian and historian, haunted by strange dreams. One of these leads her to Spells Hollow, where she learns about who - and what - she is, with the help of three new friends, who quickly become something more.
Morrigan is one of my favourite types of heroines, as she knows nothing about the supernatural, but quickly accepts it. One of her mates is also of a similar mindset, and it's fun to see the different way they react. The romance with all three is fast burn, but the action is all off the page. I liked that the first two books in the series are so different in that respect as it means we can expect variety from the rest of the series.
Overall, it's a short, sweet read which I really enjoyed, and can't wait to see what else Spell Hollow has in store for us!
Wallflower Witch: The Cursed Coven Of Spells Hollow Book 2 by Rachelle Bonifay is a why-choose fantasy romance. Morrigan Has spent her life isolated and alone. However when a few journals at work point towards Spells Hollow she feels a calling. It's at Spells Hollow she discovers she is a witch. With the support of a few men she meets on her travels will she be able to break her family’s curse? I really enjoyed the story itself but it felt rushed. It felt like it was missing details like it was this happened, then this, and then this. I liked the characters and world-building. There were definitely some cool ghost related parts. If you enjoy fantasy romance, why-choose, insta-love, found family, witches, magic, and spice then you will enjoy this book. It's a fairly short book where the primary focus is the story so if your looking for a quick read this is a good pick.
OK to start this off I think this book could’ve absolutely been a five star book if there had been a little bit more character background and relationship development between the mc’s.
🚨 Second, please for the love of all things holy, DO NOT LICK CRYSTALS TO IDENTIFY THEM, Azurite is toxic if ingested. If it ends in an ITE, don’t put it into water & don’t put it in your mouth. (I own a metaphysical shop, I know a lot about crystals & Azurite happens to be one of my favorites. Great choice of stone for the story ✨)
With that all being said, I loved the writing here and the story had great bones. I would love to see an extended epilogue from these characters to see their lives in the future. I loved the insta-devotion, support and understanding from the mmcs for Mor even when they didn’t understand what was going on with her and the situation.
I am loving these Spells Hollow stories so far. Wallflower witch is the second, but Morrigan is the complete opposite FMC as the prior book had. Morrigan has a gift that she’s convinced is more of a curse. However, she now has a countdown to the time left to use her gift, and break a curse cast on the whole town. Her job, restoring and preserving old books, is what brought her here. Too many mentions of Spells Hallow to be coincidence. But once she’s there, she’s thrust into this world she has no idea about. And is still expected to help. But will the ghosts of the past be a help or hinderance? Her (familiar?) pet raven, Quoth, is the best boy, and I absolutely adored him. We got a chapter from his POV which was both funny and a bit confusing. I was expecting some kind of revelation from it, but even though that didn’t happen, I still adored it, and kind of wanted more. Lol.
The second standalone book in the Cursed Coven of Spells Hallow and it follows Morrigan, a librarian/historian who was more than content minding the archives until she became plagued with weird dreams pushing her to a place called Spells Hallow. On the way she meets three people who help her find out who and what she is.
This was a shorter read and followed the same premise as the first book, where you have a girl who is pushed to Spells Hallow to find out more about herself. While I enjoyed the connections Morrigan made along the way, I can't say that this book held my interest like the first one did. It was a little rough to get into, mainly because there was nothing that hooked me in. I was so excited to read a book about a librarian who manages historical archives, because it's something I connected to, but it fell flat for me.
This is the second book in the series however both books are stand alone and the only connection is Spells Hollow.
This book follows Morrigans tale. She is a librarian and works in the archives. She loves handling old books and manuscript, but there is something special about the new delivery of books and journals referring to a place called Spells Hollow. Due to her unknown gifts she is drawn to seek out the place to research the journals further after a couple of visits from strange people.
Once there she starts discovering herself and her family history as well as meeting some other people who also were drawn to Spells Holllow. They continue their journey together and their relationships develop along the way.
Can Morrigan and her men break the curse and set the spirits free? Great read and good escapism.

This is the second book in the Spells Hollow world, but it’s a complete standalone itself, and there is no need to have read book one in the series first.
As a librarian, Morrigan O’Byrne is used to reading all kinds of diaries and journals, but it’s one set in particular that lead her to the cursed town of Spells Hollow. There she meets two men that will become influential in her future, and with the help of a third, she has to try and right some of the wrongs done to her family.
This is a quick read, with fade-to-black romance and lots of magic. It’s an enjoyable story, relatively light-hearted in tone, even as some of the situations are a little darker in nature. If you’re a fan of RH fantasy, then this is a quick, (mostly) safe to read at work choice!
I enjoyed the story overall. I liked that it was a standalone and could be read without having to read the previous one; however, reading the first one enriches the experience. (My challenge was that I couldn't remember the first one, not because it was not memorable, just because my memory sucks!) Anyway, back to this book. It was an "easy" read and had moments I enjoyed. The most fascinating aspect was the gradual character development of our fmc, Morrigan. I liked her journey of self-discovery and the addition of the guys and their dynamic. It's a good series so far, and I'm looking forward to how the rest of the story gets more interesting and no doubt more complex (or complicated).
✨ARC Review✨ This second installment of The Cursed Coven of Spells Hallow was fully of mystery, intrigue and spice! Right from the beginning I was very interested in the mystery. I was drawn to where the plot was headed and how the story was unfolding. I also LOVED the MFC! I loved that she is a history/book nerd, as I relate to this heavily! I also adored her animal sidekick! This is a great book for Fall/Halloween with strong witchy/spooky vibes. I would have rated this book slightly higher if it had kept me slightly more entertained. It was fairly short, however I felt a lot of details were skipped. I was hoping for a little more action. Overall however, I did love the mystery, the vibes and the unique magic system!
This book is part of a cool series involving a town called Spells Hollow. Morrigan O'Byrn has seen spirits of the dead most of her life which has kept her mostly solitary. When she starts having strange dreams, being visited by spirits at her work where she is a research librarian, and reading journals about a town called Spells Hollow, she knows she's supposed to go there.
She discovers that she's a descendant of the witches there who were killed, and only she can remove the curse on the land. Along with help from 3 men who end up being her fated mates - Patrick, Josh, and Matt - they embark on the dangerous mission to remove the curse and cleanse the town.
This was a great story and I wholeheartedly enjoyed it!
Morrigan has always been the odd kid, seeing what is not there according to others, leading to her life as a hermit avoiding most social contacts. But when a strange woman keeps appearing in the ibrary archive she works at, ahe follows to Spells Hollow - only to find a deadly, evil curse waiting to consume all the spirits left at that place. From a sceptic not believing in magic into a powerful witch, Morrigan grows fast into her new confident self on the pagez. The fast paced story throws three attractive men into her path, men that are willing to support and accept Morrigan for who she is and stand by her through anything, just as her raven Quoth. It is an insta-love paranormal RH focused on single storyline and one relationship, but an enjoyable one.
I did not like the way this book was written. There is no complexity in its story. The solution to the curse was banal. From my point of view it seemed like love was the answer to solving it, but does it mean that in the centuries that past no one was loved??? Also the progression of the relationships was not believable, the guys were basically the same. Unremarkable really. Many things were not explored. If they are mates (which we find out passingly by the pet crow through a random chapter), there are no identifiable signs shown in the story.
And please for the love that all is holy can we put the name of the character which chapter is the point of view of? Have some decency for your readers to have more comprehensible reading.
Wallflower Witch was spookier and had a more sinister feel to it, but that’s all compensated by three men who have no doubts they met the woman of their dreams. Morrigan is a librarian that works in the archives and is all around a loner who keeps getting diaries and journals from Spells Hollow to transcribe when all of a sudden she starts seeing ghosts that tell her she must go to Spells Hollow. Patrick a fire element witch who informs Morrigan that she too is a witch. Josh, and Matt are two sexy guys who Morrigan adds to her harem. Book 2 was just as incredible as the 1st one, and this series just seems to be getting better and better,
A stand alone RH novel that is also part of a series written by different authors. A very fun and creative concept!
Morrigan is a quiet introvert working to save the archives of ancient text into today’s digital formats. She has always had weird dreams and seen ghosts which made her an outcast and target of bullying. So she turned inward, safe within herself.
When the dream world and her job all target the same small town, she has to leave her comfort zone and venture out on an adventure to Spells Hallow. On this adventure she meets Patrick, Josh and Matt. A curse has brought them here, but what do they do now?
Morrigan never belonged always seen as different, because she could see ghosts. She retreated in the world of books and history. Morrigan never realized it would lead her to to Spells Hollow and to learn about her ancestors and a family curse. As she learns who she is along with the 3 wonderful men she has just met. With their help, can Morrigan solve the curse, set free the spirits that have been forced to stay earthbound? Can she finally find true love? Can Morrigan be accepted for herself? Along with her familiar the raven, Quoth that she nursed back to health, what an amazing adventure is ahead for them all.
Morrigan has never fitted in with others in the world especially when she sees dead people and others can’t. At first she doesn’t realise it’s ghosts she’s actually talking too and when she does she just goes with it and shows more willingness.
Morrigan always loved to just live her life how she sure fit and enjoy herself.
Morrigan ends up with her mates pretty quickly as they all feel an instant attraction to each other. Although there is a lot of love and support there is also a skeptic, eventually he comes around as they are able to try and stop a curse.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more, the whole series so far is amazing.
The second standalone book in The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series introduces readers to librarian Morrigan who has a unique ability to see the dead. She discovers one book in particular the leads her to Spells Hollow, a cursed town with unique beings just like her. This is where she meets the men who will change everything for her and help her discover more about her past and her family. There are so mysterious elements, which adds a level of intrigue to this story. While this is a shorter read, I also enjoyed the romantic moments, and I am excited to see what is in store for this world in the next book.
Rachelle Bonifay and Roseyk Klayborn bring us the second addition to the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series and it is well worth the dive into this spooktacular story! If you’re a fan of fantasy paranormal RH romances then this is the one for you!
Our FMC Morrigan is a librarian on a mission and soon finds herself in the cursed town of Spells Hollow where her path crosses with three men that are more than willing to help her right some of the wrongs done to her family. A family she soon discovers more of along with some new magical powers. If you love a quick fun read, with low spice and heat but still enjoyable, then get ready to dive right into this one!
This is the second book in this shared series and it was so very good. I find I am enjoying this series so far, with each story unique to its self. You do not have to read in order but I do recommend it.
In Wallflower Witch Morrigan is a cool witch who helps spirits find closure. Which I think is something pretty cool. However I am a baby when it comes to ghosts. She has traveled to Spells Hollow to break a curse. She may be getting three hot men along the way that will help her in any way they can.
Such a good quick read that kept my attention, the pace was fast, the characters fun, the storyline good, so overall a great read and a great addition to this series.
Book 2 in the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series, Wallflower Witch brings us back to Spells Hollow for another adventure to defeat the curse. This is a why choose which means, the FMC won't have to choose between her love interests.
Great storyline, loved how it was done, the interactions that are seen between the characters, all of them. The action isn't too intense so it makes for a good comfortable read, learning the history, and what Mori will have to do to save everyone, including those in the afterlife.
I am enjoying how each author(s) are approaching this world and where it will take us next!
