I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author for allowing me the opportunity!
This book follows our FMC, Saphrielle, an angel who has “fallen” from Heaven straight into Hell and must now deal with the consequences of her actions/desires. Our MMC, Hades, is ruler of the underworld (now called Hell) and is struggling to bring his community together after Lucifer’s rampage. When Saphrielle falls into Hades’ possession, he sees her as an object to use in his quest to unify his community. Of course, it’s not that simple and feelings muddy his plans (and subsequently, hers).
There’s spice in the opening scene, then it’s a slow burn between Hades & Saphrielle once she is introduced. I actually liked how their tension built up and how the author relayed Hades’ struggle with desire vs fighting his inner demon.
Saphrielle was a little tough to like as her personality seemed a bit inauthentic at times. However, her character was complex (she first started off as a “pure” angel then transitioned to a being in between mortality/immortality who was experiencing human-like emotions for the first time), so I think this was more of the author’s way of trying to show her character development.
I do think there was room for better explanation of the world building. The pure demons vs cursed demons and all the different “factions” of them got to be confusing. I couldn’t quite keep track of who was who, where their loyalties lie, and how they were relevant.
This books does leave off on a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading the second installment in this series to see where Hades and Saphrielle pickup and where their story takes us next!
I read this slowly. The concept of the book really intrigued me, and the beginning of the book (hello spice!) sucked me, I was prepared for a shocking, fascinating story. The spice scenes were few and deep into the book after the opening, really, but those were well done. But the plot was difficult to follow. The history of hell, lucifer, angels and demons, was not fleshed out well enough or described enough to give the fully story. I kept waiting for more to be revealed so I could understand. But I still have questions - maybe the next book will explain more! The FMC was done well enough, though her emotions and thoughts flipped rapidly. Hades was intolerable. I couldn’t keep up with the author’s attempts to explain what he was doing and WHY. I just seriously couldn’t figure it out and still don’t know. As I read more and more, it got better toward the end! So it does redeem itself a bit if you power through. Strangely, I do want to read the next book. It ends on a cliffhanger, and dammit, I do want to find out what happens next. I want to know if Hades and Saphrielle ever get their sh*t together and figure out what the hell they’re doing, I’m desperate for a happily ever after. So we’ll see! I got an arc and am leaving this review of my own volition.
This book is a tale different than most I have read about Hades. Usually it is about him and Persephone. This story was written after that.
A fallen angel that Hades has decided he wants for his own personal pet to use for his agenda. Since Lucifer destroyed the Underworld and created demons, there has been a curse that Hades has been trying to break. He is a god and has a lot to fix but can he? Demons try to side with Lucifer and pretend to agree with Hades. Causing chaos in hell.
The angel fell for specific reasons and now has to figure out how to survive. Hades “guides” her and tells her the paths but doesn’t tell her everything. She is a bit naive but hopefully as the story progresses in the future she becomes a stronger version of herself.
Please check for trigger warnings if you have some. This book does have some spice which is great if you like that.
I would recommend this book if you like dark fantasy reads. It leaves the end open for more to come and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Always been a fan of Mythology, but less a fan of angels lol, G G thought weaves and wraps a tale with both a godish demon lord and an angel-ish girl. Dark craves light, but so does the light crave the dark. I loved the characters though Saph annoyed me just a wee bit at the beginning. Hades was bad appropriately, well maybe inappropriately depending on one's views. Angles in hell, usually don't do well in hell, what makes this fallen different? the first of a series and I can't wait. it's such a temptation to dirty something clean, isn't it? Saph doesn't know the whole story but what she thinks she knows is the reason for her actions and beliefs. More so the pieces of her thoughts she tries to piece together. Of course Hades can't be trusted... right? Perfectly written world the descriptions tell the story, and the characters bring the story alive. A good mix of heat, story even a bit of mystery just makes you want the next one. Stand by for the drop... most great talent writes in their stories. eager for the next... enjoy
Hell used to be the Underworld until Lucifer tried to take over. Losing his battle to Hades, who is now the current ruler of the wasteland that once was his beloved home, Hades finds the fallen angel Saphreille.
Saphrielle awakes with little memory. Only that she should not be in Hell. She doesn't remember her misgivings against her God, only knowing that what she did was so bad that she bypassed the human realms straight into Hell itself.
Hades nurses her back to health with a deal that she is free to leave, but the longer they stay together, the more Saphrielle and Hades learns of their emotions and, with the return of her memories, brings forth questions as to her own faith and what love means for the both of them.
I loved this. I hate the cliffhanger... I'm foaming at the mouth for the second book, but alas, I shall be patient for the author to create her magic.
Greek gods and angels collide in this dark romance fantasy. Saphrielle is a muse that broke heaven’s rules one too many times and was cast out of heaven. Apparently her latest transgression was so bad she got cast into hell instead of sent to the human world like she hoped. Right into the hands of Hades. Any fallen angels that arrive don’t last long in his realm but he hopes the latest will. What starts as a tool for revenge turns into the possibility of finally finding his queen. So much tension and angst in this book! Great world building, complex characters and a gripping, angsty enemies to lovers story in the making. This book does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared! Can’t wait for the next book!
Demon and angel...a tale that I have read a ton of. But this is more of a collision of greek mythology and the angels/demon world. The story is pretty good.
The characters can require a bit of patience to embrace and follow, the FMC isn't the type that I tend to like but they grew on me. The story is spicy enough and the relationship between the MCs is interesting and fun (imo). A story of enemies to lovers and something about revenge?
The world building and description is enveloping, and the characters help create it into the story it is. There is a bit of mystery but there were points that left me wondering what was occurring and others wanting more. This is part of a series so I guess that is expected, a cliffhanger.
First book of the series and WOW what a beginning. We all know who Hades is if you know just a little of Greek mythology. But what if he wasn’t a myth? What if God and angels see him as the enemy? When one angel falls to hell her eyes will be opened about the truth. Can Saphrielle believe what even her own eyes see and can she trust a cursed lord of hell? So many amazing characters and the plot just blew me away. I loved everything about this story and can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.
This is such a well written and entertaining spin on angels and demons that I was fully hooked when I cracked it open ;D Expect clear world building, characters that are so real they bring the story to life, drama, angst, mystery and steam to work together to have you gripping your reader until you hit the end. Of course, there is more to come, so mind the cliffy ;P I'm really looking forward to the next book :D
OMG this story was so good!! Angels and Demons are probably one of my favorite trope but on top of that, this one had enemies to lovers, spice, some Greek mythology... A bit of all that I love. The characters are awesome, specially Saphrielle, so different from angels or muses in the sense that she is a bad..., strong and not a rule follower!! I cant wait for the next book because this world is addictive
This is an intriguing concept of mythology and angels & demons combined which had me hooked from the beginning!! Saphrielle is an Angel who has *fallen* and is found by Hades’ minions- much to his delight. She can’t recall her life but Hades heals her and grants her freedom. This book has a war of the underworld between Lucifer and Hades, interesting character development between the characters and so much more. It does end on a cliffhanger. Consider yourself warned!!
This was an interesting take on Greek mythology, angels and demons. I enjoyed the plot and really grew to like Saphrielle, the MFC. This story ends on a to be continued type ending, no real cliffhanger. It felt like it just ended and didn't really leave me craving the next book. Check the trigger warnings.
I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
It's been awhile since I've read a book about the gods and been invested in it. This book was GOOD! I loved that it's a little twisty with a whole Lotta drama.
Be warned there's a cliff hanger but I'm expecting book 2 is worth it
I received an advanced copy of the book and am voluntarily leaving a review
If you like dark mythological romance then I recommend this book for you! How can the dark and the light crave each other? When Greek gods and angels collide, only the strongest and shall we say smartest shall survive. Enemies to lovers, great world-building, strong character development, and an ending that leaves you wanting more… Be prepared!
This is the first book I have read by this author so I had no idea of the writing style of this author but I thought I read it to see if I would enjoy it and I’m not sorry I did it was such a page turner, I love the way darkness and light seem to come together. Be warn it does happen to finish up on a cliffhanger.
I liked this story a lot. The plot was unique, involving the underworld with Hades and the complication of fallen angels. Saphrielle however is a very interesting fallen angel and that is what makes this so unique and interesting to read. Looking forward to book two, since this had a cliffhanger ending.
Greek Gods meet angels. Saphrielle is a kick a.. character. I loved the tension, angst and complex characters. This has been an incredible introduction to Saphrielle and Hades. I am so very excited to read more of their story amd how it develops.
The storyline was so amazing I couldn't put it down. With incredible characters and steamy interactions, it draws you in for a wild ride that leaves you wanting more. Who knew greek mythology could be this..... hot, definitely recommend
