When a congressman's daughter goes missing, FBI agent Blake Wilder and her team are sent to Iowa to find the missing girl.
Already dealing with a mysterious figure who keeps sending her body parts, now Blake finds herself under attack from within her own unit. Against the backdrop of an impending OPR review, Blake and her Black Cell team head to Iowa to search for Teagan Stills, the missing daughter of Congressman Elton Stills, at the behest of the Director of the FBI himself.
When they touch down in the Hawkeye state though, Blake gets caught up in a mystery unlike anything she has ever encountered before. With a list of suspects that’s a who’s who of the D.C. elites, Blake’s team uncovers evidence that the Congressman’s daughter has been living a secret double-life. A life that not even her father had a clue existed. As they are hit by a host of unsavory revelations, the focus of the investigation turns on those closest to her.
As Blake slowly starts to unravel the case, she discovers a twisted and sordid tale that leaves her shaken.

This is another gripping mystery in the Blake Wilder series. The difference here is, Cora Pratt, who appears in another series of the author's books, is featured as a character! The crossover is smooth and handled well. The mystery is fast-paced and hard to put down. A nice cliffhanger at the end leaves readers anxiously awaiting the next installment in the Blake Wilder series.
I like to read about the Blake Wider series. The books keep you interested to the very end. I could not put this book down. I can't wait for the next one. Thanks You Elle Gray for this book.
She's done it again, Blake is kicking ass and taking names, with the help from Cora from Storyville. I don't know who is out after Blake sending her body parts. Who's in the backseat? She's has a great team that supports her. Still don't remember Okamura? One hell of a cliffhanger in many ways, tons of un answered questions, I am ready for the next book.

This was a excellent book about Blake and team going all out to see what happened with lots of suspense and action and also a coworker trying to get Blake fired. Thank you for a great book with wonderful writing skills.
I have enjoyed reading the first half of this series more than all the rest after book number 14. Since then the endings have become more predictable - easy to figure out the bad guy. I do plan to keep reading, if only out of curiosity. Does Blake become humble, really humble and less arrogant? Do any of the others ever figure it out besides Wilder? Shocker! How about Astra…does she ever get a brain or is she only there to babysit Blake and the “kids”? Blake is condescending and not even likeable because she is completely self absorbed. The cases she works are interesting but could use more intrigue and less “little common sayings” and in your face racial descriptions. No need for it. And please, please no more referrals to “tucking” into food! That’s just disgusting. No more “I just want to go home to a hot bath and many glasses of wine”. It’s too predictable. How about boxing in the evenings, or some self defense work or something other than drinking. And, it wouldn’t hurt for her to strengthen her hands as she seems to drop her weapon constantly in every book and sometimes more than once. I did enjoy the addition of Cora in this book number 17.

The Missing Daughter(Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thriller Book 17)
OMG!!!!!!!!!! This book was so worth waiting for. Blake can get herself into all kinds of trouble, but she also finds away to get out of trouble as well. This one is very sad a twenty- four daughter goes missing in Iowa and her Daddy is a seating congressman and he calls the director of the FBI, wanting Blake and her team to find his baby girl. It doesn't turn out well, Blake and her team finally figure out who the guilty person is, but he paid someone to destroy evidence and gets away, but he doesn't live to regret it, he is also murdered. You have to read the book to figure out who, how and why. But it is totally worth it.
Blake and her team have been specifically requested to look into the disappearance of Congressman Still’s daughter Teagan. He likes Blake’s no nonsense way of handling cases and the results she gets. As with all things, what you see isn’t necessarily what you’ll get. The deeper Blake’s team digs the more unbelievable the discoveries are. All this while Blake is being investigated by OPR for alleged sexual harassment, you can guess who the “victim” is if you’ve been following this saga from the beginning. Can’t wait for the release of The Silent Threat, purchased and ready for download the 20230609.
Well written, liked the characters. Author did a good job of allowing the reader to tell all the characters apart. Would like to point out that "for a minute" is still a rather slangy term for something more like "for quite a while." Those that haven't been around young people a lot might not understand the term, although there was also context given. I did wonder why DNA could not be obtained from the guilty person in some fashion; I've seen this done in true crime stories and not just on television. Still, I can see why there was an incentive to close the whole thing down and move on.

This story was interesting in the fact that the daughter was described as a person who was smart and would strive to do I'm p,h things in her life. As the team began working on the case and talking to a number of people who gave them a different view. Who was responsible for her death? Blake did not have solid proof so in the end what she did was interesting.
With next to nothing to solve this crime the team moves forward with help of the congressman. Blake has the help of an new interesting agent with some really great skills she picked up by studying Blake Wilder. Her help was great and appears she has a future. Blake goes before OPR and has some interesting help but no decision is reached. Great read get to it. No
I am getting addicted to this series. Finish one, can't wait to start the next. Each story feels fresh, original, and the good guys (mostly women) are more and more likeable. Meanwhile, the villains - who are sometimes motivated by desire for power and greed, sometimes by revenge - are almost always dastardly, but at the same time, it's often possible to understand and even relate to their motivations.
On to the next book in the series. See ya later...
Assigned to a missing persons case at the personal behest of high level politician, Blake and her team work without rest to figure out why the young woman disappeared.
The whole truth is somehow never revealed, which was disquieting.
And Blake’s stalker-butcher of body parts rears his demented head….
OMG. This is a great thriller. This book is so full of excitement that you won't be able to put this book down. I can't wait for the next book in this series . I highly recommend this book.
This is one out my favorite books in this series. For the last several titles, the overarching plot has been pushed to the wayside and i was beginning to wonder it we ever get a resolution. This book renews my faith that we are getting close.
Blake Wilder book 17 continues the series keeping the reader riveted to find out what is going to happen. Just when you think you have it figured out, the story takes a turn and throws you off again.
These books keep getting more interesting. I love this whole series and all the intrigue and mystery. Elle Grey keeps your interest, if you want a great mystery read these.
I can only say Ellie is .one the the best FBI mystery writers around. He storieS grab you at the start and they do not let go. The Missing Daughter kid a good example of that. I look forward to more
As usual, Elle Gary did not disappoint with book 17! So well written and to put down. I love the Blake Wilder series. So well written and all characters are so well developed.
I liked the new agent. Cora adds more depth to the story. The solve became too obvious and the result was disappointing but the book continually held my attention so 4☆.
I am enjoying this series and this one like the others keeps you guessing until the end. The only thing I found with this one is it didn't have quite the suspense that the others in the series have had. would still recommend reading the series.
I love this series, they keep getting better as they go. Now I have to wait for the next one to come out. I can never put the book down once I start reading it 😊
