Are you kidding me this was so much fun!! So funny and spicy damnnn. I want more of this world and characters please I beg😭😭
The ending was criminal like why do that to me????

So, I needed a break from the books I was reading and got this wonderful little novella in my email inbox after signing up for the author’s newsletter. I went in completely blind and honestly wasn’t really sure what to expect since even the title gave nothing away lol. I was pleasantly surprised by what I got which was a beyond sexually charged game of cat and mouse with a hilarious FMC and an MMC that I was constantly DROOLING over! 🤤
From the second we met him I loved absolutely everything about Torstein! From his tattoos and blond Viking braid to his big incubus energy (BDE) personality to his panty melting dominant side! It was completely understandable that poor Isa’s brain would almost short circuit every time they interacted because I was right there with her! I’m used to the novellas I read to be very smutty with the plot is spice vibes so the fact that this one had a tension filled slow burn with a satisfying payoff was so refreshing and everything I didn't know I needed!
While the story didn't have the most complicated of plot lines given the limitations of the page count, this world has so much potential! We had just about every magical creature you could think of be mentioned at some point! Some examples include vampires, wolves, fairies, gargoyles, witches, pixies, warlocks, fae, sirens, nymphs, and of course demons and chameleons! I would love to revisit this world if the author ever decided to expand this story or write a new spin off! I kind of hope that she does some day because I want to know if there was a specific reason why Isa was able to see Torstein’s true form from the get-go and if Torstein’s possessiveness was normal incubus behavior or if there was something more to it! 👀
Overall, if you’re looking for a lighthearted palate cleanser with romcom vibes, magic, great sexual tension and chemistry, hilarious banter, and the perfect amount of spice then I would recommend you sign up for Jane Washington’s newsletter ASAP so you can read this too!

This was a fun (but too short) story. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to reading a full length, HEA for Isa & Torstein. Just sayin'.
