My world as I know it has been turned upside down. Family drama comes back into my life, and I try to distance myself as I have in the past. Fate has other plans for me that I am not ready for. My regrets can't get in the way of the responsibility I should have never avoided. Not that the bossy woman that was dropped into my lap would ever allow me to shrink away from them again. When the only blood family I have left is threatened, my chosen ones help me protect what I never knew I was missing in my life.
I'm a retired 45-year-old Puerto Rican wife and mother of 3 plus 1 bonus daughter. Originally from NYC, now living a quiet life in the south suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy reading and writing romance and erotic fiction. I'm addicted to coffee, sci-fi, and all things Marvel and Harry Potter.
I was a teen mom with a whole world of statistics against me. Every time I was told I couldn't do something, I did it, took pictures, and smiled with my son on my hip for everyone who ever doubted me.
Now, after finding the love of my life in my thirties, we married in the great 2020 pandemic, which shall not be named. We have a house full of teenagers who don't need mommy anymore, and the hubs is a traveling ER nurse, SO I have found myself with a lot of downtime.
After years of having this story taking space in my head, I decided to share it with the world. Gotta say, this writing gig is HARD. But with some time and grace, I'll get it right.
Asher and Zahra are amazing! Great addition to the series. I fall more in love with this series with each new book and addition of characters! Asher’s story doesn’t disappoint and him finding his forever with Zahra only made it better! Looking forward to the next book! . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This Series Just Keeps Getting Better and Better!!
I’ve been following this series for a while now and I’m still just as hooked as I was from the very first book I read. Now we have Asher’s story and it was one I couldn’t put down.
When the unexpected happens, Asher is called upon to be the guardian to his sister’s kids. Along with that guardianship comes not only his sister’s best friend but the social worker on his case.
Zahra and Asher’s story was awesome and had me turning page after page because I couldn’t put it down. I recommend not only this book but this series as well.
Sign me up for all of it! What D writes I need to be a part of because from the first line she draws you into the story! From spice to drama- this book has it all and the book has you on the edge of your seat!
This is my first ever motor cycle club romance and I'm hooked! I need to read about every one of the members they all have such dynamic personalities and I need to know all their stories. Asher and zarah were insta lust done so right , the plot of the story was so intriguing alongside the romance and I need to see how this overall story ends.
Really good it starts with Debt, Blackmail, Porn and Murder. Asher gets some horrible news and has to adjust to a new reality as he is named the guardian of his sister's children. He gets a crash course in child raising by her best friend Zahar who is the social worker on the case.
I had the pleasure to read D. Williams, MorningStar MC series. This is my first experience reading about motorcycle clubs (MC). And D. Williams did not disappoint. She offers a glossary of slang associated with the MC and that is very helpful to people new to this world. She also provides the hierarchy of the MorningStar MC along with who is who. This allowed me to follow the characters with the club names while I started into this series.
The series follows each of the main club members and how they found their partners or what they call “old lady” or “old man”. Their stories are captivating, spicy and will pull at your heartstrings. The love these characters show for each other is what any reader would want for themselves. Each book has romance, spice, thrill and even terror. Oh did I say spice…… The love stories are mixed with everything you could hope for from age gap, MMF, BDSM, and goes on. The spice is there and I love it’s not a slow burn relationship. She gives you what you are seeking and some! You see the love each member has for their MC family and their loyalty that is earned. You become engrossed into their world and you can’t stop. You get your fill and when the book ends, you jump right to the next one.
Asher runs a motel and has an estranged relationship with this sister. When he finds out her kids need him, the club helps him take them in. He didn’t know he was getting a headstrong woman along with the kids. He has to fight his sister’s battles and won’t back down until the kids and his woman are safe.
D. Williams doesn’t stop here with this series. Oh no! She continues the stories in her spin off, MorningStar MC – Reno Chapter. It’s not complete yet, but she does not disappoint with this series either. It’s just as good as the original MorningStar MC and I can’t wait to see that to completion either!
Thank you D. Williams for bringing the world to life and allowing me to get lost for a little while and come out smiling, crying, laughing and more!
When you're a fanatic of MC books, such as myself, I want to grab them all and devour them in a sec. Yep, that's me. The more I read, the more I want to read and the rest is history. D. Williams was presented to me not long ago, and let me just say that the more I read from her, the more I want. Her writing is super appealing and I can't get enough. Asher is her latest release and it's the 9th book from the Morningstar MC series. But one side note, all books are standalone but I advise you to read this series from the beginning. Certain events happen that will make more sense reading this from the beginning. This book explores the lives of Asher and Zahra. Asher is one of the brothers of the Morningstar MC and his life before joining the MC wasn't a happy one. He left his family behind and embraced his new MC family. But life has other ideas and when he sees himself as the guardian of his sister's kids he wasn't counting on the change this fact would bring. And to top it all, the social worker assigned to this case is one hell of a woman... Zahra is a social worker that takes her job seriously. She's feisty and sassy and doesn't take shitballs from anyone. When she's assigned a case she wasn't counting the hunk of a man... Just like I thought this would be... Amazing. Loved every chapter. Great plot, well written, super engaging, and intense. Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and that made reading this book a wonderful ride. I really enjoyed this book and the kids are so sweet. The danger, the crime, the madness are well present in this book as well as love, loyalty, and desire. Hell yeah baby, hot stuff alert. This series is getting better by the book and I can't get enough of it. It's amazing to have glimpses of the other characters, and it's awesome to meet new ones. Great book D. Williams. You're on fire. Can't wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Suspense, Romance, Hot sex and another crazy problem for the Morningstar MC.
Asher also known as Bear in the MC, has a sister that unfortunately has passed away. Their relationship was strained, because she started seeing his Lieutenant from the police academy and was known as bad news. So his sister Alex and him barely spoke in the last 10 years, and when she would call him it was always for money. He was shocked to find out he has a nephew Frankie Jr. who is 6 and a niece Aspen who is 3, he is also suprised to know her husband, his old lieutenant, Hoss, was killed when his sister was pregnant with Alex. Aspen is hearing impaired. He goes to pick up the children 6 hours away from the social worker, Zahra, that was also friends with Alex and was babysitting for her when she was killed. Zahra is weary of Ashers capabilities of taking care of 2 children let alone one who is death, so she accompanies them to teach sign language as well as to see if Asher can handle this new responcibity. Asher is instantly attracted to Zahara. But is Zahara attracted to him? Zahara is also uncomfortable in her own body can she let her past go, that has caused her so much insecurities, to maybe start a new relationship? Ashar and the MC discover that his siters death or should I say murder is co ected to her husband's past. This past could jeopardised the children's safty as well as Zahara's life. The book is full of secrets that come to light and twists and turns you don't see coming. You just have to read this extremely hot book, full of lots of sex, some romance, danger and lots of suspense
Full disclosure: this is book 9 in the series. While you don’t NEED to read the others first, I would HIGHLY recommend you do. Some of the nuances are lost without the background stories. This is no hardship, however! I think I read the previous books in a out a week and a half. They are shorter books, but very entertaining.
As always, the secondary characters really bring the story to life. I love Dirk, but Abel will always hold a very special piece of my heart. No one tell him, his ego is big enough as it is.
I’m not normally one for the “second chance” trope. I was pleasantly surprised by the handling of this by D Williams. Each character had some honest reflection and there wasn’t an over the top hatred/blame to overcome. A+ there for me.
A very entertaining read. I would have polished it off in a night if not for children.
This is another fantastic story in this thrilling series. We get Asher/Bear story along with his love interest Zahra. Asher hasn’t kept in touch with his blood family and suddenly he has custody of his sister’s kids after she passes away. He travels to pick up the his niece and nephew from CPS and its agent Zahra. She’s a feisty social worker and will travel with the kids back to Paradise to make sure the kids settle in with their new reality. Asher feels a connection with Zahra right from the start, a love connection. But soon they realize the kids are in danger when get back to the club. Asher will do whatever it takes to protect the kids and Zahra. This is another thrilling MC story with fabulous characters that’s full of family, brotherhood, drama, suspense, and danger with twists and turns that pulled at all my emotions. Especially when the yummy romance took off. I look forward to more of this terrific MC series from this talented author. Worth the read!
He hadn't had contact with his only family for over ten years. The club was his family now--until it wasn't. A strong, sassy woman who had no qualms standing up to him or his brothers was going to oversee the changes at least for a few days. It didn't take long for Asher to determine a few days would never be enough.
I loved this book in the series. While I enjoyed them all this one really touches my heart. His life is about to change more than he ever imagined. Without spoilers, I can't give much more information. I can say the changes he didn't plan become all-important to him and the ones trying to interfere have not Asher but the entire club to deal with.
Great characters old and new, plenty of steam, touching emotions, not to be missed. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
This is the ninth book in this incredible series and is Asher / Bear AND Zahra’s story. Asher suddenly gains custody of his niece and nephew after their mother passes away, and he needs to travel to pick up the children from child protection services, which is when he meets Zahra, who is a feisty social worker, and she will accompany them back to Paradise to ensure that the children settle in ok. Asher is convinced Zahra is his soulmate, and when they arrive back at the club, they discover that the children are in danger. Asher will do whatever he must to protect the children and Zahra. This is a well written story which has engaging and realistic characters, family, drama, suspense, danger, twists, intrigue, emotions, regrets, turmoil, tension, and love, which leads to an all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
HOLY HELL! Asher's story is something else, and I couldn't get enough of it. Life takes a tragic turn when he's left the guardian of his sister's kids (he left his family drama behind when he joined this MC), but it also came with her best friend & social worker, Zahra. Little did either of them know that working together for those kids would bring them a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. It was instantly apparent that they're perfect for each other, as she's the perfect woman to balance him out as she can go toe to toe with anyone, and especially those who have kids that she keeps tabs on. I have to say that you don't want to start this book around bedtime because I was so immersed that nothing else mattered until I was finished with it because D. Williams is leveled up addictive so that's all from me except to HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Asher meets Zahra in Reno after he receives a phone call from the Nevada police about his sister Alex passing away from being ran off the road and being shot, but he wasn't expecting meeting a niece and nephew that he's never met, because of family drama but he's now there guardian. Frank Jr wasn't all that keen to go with Asher back home because he believed his mothers lies. Aspen is deaf and had a partial cochlear ear plant, but sadly her deceased fathers insurance plan didn't cover the rest. Doc decided that he would pay for the rest and Aspen was amazed at hearing the first time and talking, and hasn't stopped yet. Asher and Zahra had chemistry from the beginning. She also had an ex that worked for another guy that did films from human trafficking. Both disgusting pieces of scum. Happy reading.
I love this MC - bad ass for good reasons - trope I think this was well written. Asher is every woman's dream!! How he respects the h and cares for her, loves her even though she thinks she has flaws. I always loved the family aspect of the MC tropes. The spice in this was *muah* chef's kiss! Not too spicy but real good when you get it.
I've only read one other book in this series, and It hasn't been read in order. I do not believe you would have to read them in order as I was able to read both of them and still understand what was going on. But if you want to know who is who then it would be best to read in order. They still mention the characters from the other books, they are part of the stories told throughout. But you do not have to, in my opinion, read them in order. I'll eventually read them all - one day. :D
Asher "Bear" finds out his sister has been murdered and he now has to take care a niece and nephew he knew nothing about, along with them comes their social worker and his sister Alex's friend. Zahra didn't know what to think about Asher but she knew that she was wanted something she shouldn't want. Asher finds that the danger surrounding his sister also surrounds his new charges as well as Zahra and he will do anything to protect them all. I loved the story and it really was about family and this includes the MorningStar MC family. All the characters all make you love them in a different way. I highly recommend this series and author.
The MorningStar MC is back with all of the characters we love and more as we finally get Asher’s story and what a wicked journey it is. One bad thing seems to lead to another in this well written action-packed page turner and along the way Asher finds his forever love and Ol’ Lady, Zahra along with a couple of other important people. The battle isn’t settled yet and they have more chaos to face. All of the characters in this series are amazing and I fall more in love with them all with each new addition to the series. I can’t wait to see more of everyone and what happens next!🖤
Awesome as usual. These stories just get better and better Bear (Asher) hadn't had contact with his only family for over ten years. He suddenly suddenly has custody of his niece and nephew, after their mother dies, and he must travel to pick them up from child protective services to bring them back home to Paradise, Nevada. He gets the surprise of his life when he meets feisty social worker, Zahra. This is a well written story which has engaging and realistic characters, family, drama, suspense, danger, twists, intrigue, emotions, regrets, turmoil, tension, and love, which leads to an all-consuming page turner.
Asher aka bear and Zahras love story. Asher became the Guardian of his sisters kids one whom is death and he has to deal with his sisters best friend who just happens to also be the social worker for the kids . Ashers old lieutenant from the police academy was bad news and marries his sister and had to kids with him who ends up dying. Then you learn that his sister was murdered and it might have to do with the bad news her dead husband was apart of. Not only do you learn about this but you find out if Asher and Zahras love story overcomes all. Can him and the Mc keep Zahra and the kids safe can they live happily ever after with the kids in safety? You will have to read to find out.

Asher "Bear" Santiago suddenly has custody of his niece and nephew, Aspen and Frankie, after their mother dies, and he must travel to pick them up from child protective services to bring them back home to Paradise, Nevada. He gets the surprise of his life when he meets feisty social worker, Zahra Omar. Zahra will be accompanying them back to Paradise to see that the kids acclimate and Asher learns ASL (American Sign Language), as little Aspen is hearing impaired. It is only after they get back to Paradise that they learn the little ones are in danger from major criminals who believe they have something that belongs to the crime syndicate. Asher decides that Zahra is his, just as much as the kids are, and he will protect her with his life if necessary. Join the MC as they ride to the rescue yet again, proving that they are the good guys in a world full of bad ones.
Every time I read a new Morningstar novel, it becomes my favorite! Asher is pretty close to take the number one spot from Abel! This was the most realistic of the novels and the love between Cookie and Asher is something we should all achieve. I love that she is not a stick thin girl and that her insecurities are normal for our society - and that Asher doesn’t just throw them away and tell her to get over it. He shows her what she means to him!
Asher is a strong (in more ways than one) character and his feelings for his bio family are strong. He comes to the rescue of his niece and nephew when his sister is killed. Z becomes a big part of his life after he gets his family also. We move forward onto what the problem is very quickly and it seems to be resolved somewhat easily at this point. Abel continues with his antics and comic relief as per usual and the rest of the MC plays an important role as well.
We have read about bear in other books. We’ll Mrs Williams did an amazing job. Bear gets a call that will not only change his life but will have him breathless. After his sister murder. He gets custody of her kids. The only bad side is the social worker has to approve of his life style. Zahra has her mind made up. His sister needed help and he never helped her. Bear welcomes zahra to live with them to see that life in the Mc is about family, loyalty and respect. He never thought he would lose his heart to this sassy social worker.
Asher had a falling out with family years ago. Asher all but forgot about his sister until a social worker calls him to inform him he has a niece and nephew who needs him. Zahra is the social worker/best friend of Asher's sister whom he wrote off years ago. Zahra is very guarded about the children. Asher sets out to prove he is the one to set up and love the children and also Zahra. But both are harboring secrets, whos is going to come out first.
Asher, aka Bear, has to be one of my favorites from the MC. When he becomes guardian to his niece and nephew, what he didn't expect was Zahra. I love the heat between Asher and Zahra; she may have some insecurities, but that doesn't stop her. As always, the MC has new issues to deal with, but they always end with a bigger family!! I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
Dare I say it?! Asher may be my new fave! Gah!! That man!! This is book 9 in the MorningStar series (can you believe it?) and boy let me tell you they just keep getting better and better. There was so much action and drama in this book as well as the usual humour and the good stuff! It brought all the emotions and I loved it! More please!!
