This book is a love story in a small town, with small town dramas and problems, different demons that the characters battle with. No spicy scene details, just a story about how 2 people navigate their lives to find and keep love. The foundation and structure of their relationship is what the book is based.

Mark is a complicated man who has been trying to get rid of the shadow of his past mistakes and to have his small town trust him again. Anna is the town’s music store owner and loves the forest that surrounds her town. Their paths cross when she gets trapped on a hike with her dog Max. He questions his worth to date Anna and she questions the rumors she has heard about the handsome logger. Each one of the have a past that comes back to the present and they need to figure out how to navigate the new trials and find love.

What a great story of Mark and Anna. Anna coming off a broken engagement and Mark coming off problems of his own. They meet when Anna is in the woods and it gets dark, the trail ends, and she is frightened and yells for help. Mark who is the head of a logging company comes to Anna’s rescue. They continue to meet and become better acquainted. Then Anna’s ex shows up and wants to go back to what they were when he disappeared from her life. Feelings are involved and Anna is confused. Mark gives her space and tells her he just wants her to be happy. Anna’s ex causes a lot of trouble for Mark with the government in his logging business. Anna goes to where she can think and decides what she wants for her future. I liked the ending of this story. This is a short story and I do wish there could have been more to the story.

I found the writing of this short romantic drama to be very well written. The flow was really nice and made me read quickly. I liked the characters and the setting of the small town.

I didn't feel quite as connected to this story as a previous one by the same author, but I do think readers of love stories will like this one.

What a wonderful book this truly is about Anna and Mark. I found this book to be very well written and I enjoyed reading it. I definitely recommend both this book and this author Amanda. It's a 5/5 star read.

Sweet story short read

Good storyline that crosses paths with environmental and responsible logging. Strong characters and a moral compass makes for an entertaining and enjoyable read.

Anna and Mark are the main characters in this short but detailed insta love story with threats that impacts the community and the smooth transition of their relationship. The backdrop is based in the gorgeous wooded land surrounding the town. A deeply introspective piece.
