Warming Up Coco

Rate this book

She’s been driving me insane from the moment she walked into my office. The way her smile brightens a room makes the feral animal inside of me come to life.

I’ve kept my hands off Coco Sanchez for a year. With every passing day my obsession grows and warps into an insatiable hunger only she can sate. The holidays are right around the corner and I’m tired of her thinking I hate her. I’m ready to make a move.

The weather is on my side, when an unexpected blizzard helps my plans in making Coco mine. I’m going to make it work to my advantage. Snowed in and trapped, she’s not sure what to make of me.

Coco may not know it yet but this Christmas I only have one wish, and that’s for this daddy to warm her up, forever.

Father Christmas? It's more like Santa Daddy for these good girls. They've made the list and their daddies are checking it twice in this steamy Christmas collab from some of your favorite instalove authors.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Coco and Lucas are gone for each other, but he’s her boss and she’s 14 years younger than him so he keeps his distance. Coco suffers in silence and Lucas acts like a bear, always growling and scowling at her. He acts like a total bosshole at work. She likes a dominating man and can’t help but be turned on by his bossholey behavior.
It’s been a year since Coco started working for him and he’s now at his breaking point. He follows her home from work everyday to make sure she makes it there safely and then watches her on the feed to his phone from the secret camera he installed in her bedroom. When he catches her crying one night he’s worried then he sees something that gives him hope. Coco gets a hoodie of his she stole and wears it to sleep for comfort. He decides it’s time he made his baby girl his one and only.
Coco’s surprised when Lucas says she has to accompany him on a business trip. The trip is really to a cabin in Tahoe where he plans on making her his. She’s confused by him being nice to her until they talk and he gives her a spectacular orgasm, in her post glow haze she confesses her love. He ramps up the seduction and soon they are enjoying Daddy/baby girl time. Copious amounts of sexy times with a lot of Daddy/baby girl talk. She’s sassy which he loves but no spankings just lots of orgasms. (It might be because in college she was on a serious relationship and her boyfriend used his Daddy role to verbally and physically abuse her.)
Lots of I love yous and more sexy times, epilogue four years later with them married, Lucas bought her the cabin they stayed in, Coco taking the bar exam and opening her own practice with her best friend, and there kids.

The last two books from this author has a daddy and baby girl trope,
That was never one of my favorites but the two books are absolutely perfect! Very romantic, safe and extremely hot!
Amazing!

I liked the set-up that the MMC is secretly head over heels for the FMC and staying away is driving him mad. What I didn't like is that he communicated the 'keeping her at an arms length' in such a way that she thought he hated her and thought she smelled bad. A simple white lie, like "I am very sensitive to smells" or something else would sufficed.
Anyway, he gives in to his feelings and takes her to this cabin to make her fall in love with him. He pretends that they are driving to a work meeting. Likeeeeee what. He is her boss and older and their relationship was strictly professional and all of a sudden he just takes her away without thinking that she might like him? 😳
And when they get to the cabin she just accepts that this whole thing is happening and that he really must have liked her. There is nothing about how much his behavior hurt her and how it is not acceptable for him to just assume it would be okay to have her vacation with him.
Suddenly she is on his lap and talks about her being ✨different✨. She has a daddy kink and absolutely no problem with telling that to her boss who suddenly decided to show his feelings, even though her ex-boyfriend abused her kink.
Yeah, right. That was when I stopped reading. DNF at 55%

Warming Up Coco is another book in the collaboraive Santa Daddy series. Mayra Statham penned a delightful age-gap romance. She intersperse in her romantic plot a bit of age-play. The lead characters are Coco Sanchez and Lucas Star. Coco is a law school graduate paying off her student loans by working in Lucas’ law firm. This is a love at first sight romance. Both parties try to fight their attraction. Coco awakens Lucas’ protective and possessive streaks. Lucas takes her away for a Christmas holiday. Will he be able to break down the walls she’s erected to protec her heart? Will she succumb to her heart’s desire? To find out, you have to read this book.

Ms. Statham demonstrates her mastery of literary devices—characterization, dialog, dual POV, and descriptive language. The lead characters are strong, independent, and multi-dimensional. The dialog, both conversational and internal monologues reveal their inner essence. The descriptive scenes allows readers to feel they are there as first-hand witnesses.

Coco & her Daddy

I’ve been DYYYYING to read this story and Coco and Lucas did not disappoint. Lucas is Coco’s grumpy boss. He manages to piss Coco off multiple times a day with his request’s and gruff nature. Coco refuses to leave cause she needs the money to pay off her student loans and cause she is also in love with the giant lug.

Lucas finally gets his head out of his a$$ and makes his move. He takes her on a “work trip” to Serendipity Bluff where he finally lays it out for her. Coco while scared to even think of a future with Lucas soon realizes that they were made for each other and their kinks very much align. I loved the hot to scene, especially where she stands up after. Talk about smoking!!!

1.5✯

-non virgin heroine
-H not a manwhore but he's experienced
-dual POV
-he's 41, she's 27
-seems like he was celibate after meeting the h (at least 1 year)
-no separation
-both have experience with daddy kink - the h's ex boyfriend was her first daddy, the hero said he'd played in sex clubs 🤮 but never had someone of his own...
-no ow/om drama
-the H put cameras in her apartment but he never told her 🤔
-no cheating or scenes with OP
-the hero wasn't very alpha, he waited a year to make his move, tbh his reasons for keeping his distance weren't very convincing
-epilogue: several years later -married with 3 kids

Oh. My!!

Oh. My! Holy hotness Batman! After getting a little taste of Lucas and Coco in Room Thirty, I knew this was going to HOT! I was not disappointed.
Lucas has been obsessing over Coco since she first came to work for him but his assholeness keeps shining bright and she can't understand why he is being so horrible. Will she quit before he has chance to show her his true feelings?
Absolutely loves it!!

Warming Up....

What a fiesty dynamic between a boss and his assistant. I love how Mayra develops a romance. That inner conversation that both Coco and Lucas had with themselves really drove the romance. I appreciated the conversation around their new relationship dynamic. I wished Lucas was more honest about his stalking and possessive, but I get it. Perfect reading for a snowy day.

Lucas is Coco's boss

Lucas is Coco's boss. He happens to be in love with her but acts grumpy and gruff to keep her at a distance. Little does he know that Coco also has feelings for him. What will happen once they come clean with each other?

I loved how Lucas had to own up to how he felt for Coco! They are too cute together.

I enjoyed this read 📚!

sweet and spicy

This was a good short story to read. He was grumpy and she thought that he hated her but in reality he was head over heels in love with her. He took her away to show her he was not grumpy but in love with her. I liked this author and hope to read more from her books

Warming Up Coco

What a nice "enemies" to lovers story. She loved him, but thought he hated her by his actions. Here he was acting distant to her because he loved her! Once he got that stick outa his butt, they were finally able to declare their feelings for each other and find their HEA.

Typos galore.

This book needed to be edited. So many wrong words, or incomplete words. It was incredibly distracting, from an other wise ok story.
Though, seriously, he had a camera in her room and that was never really addressed, if this wasn't a book, that's so not ok.
