Dylan Thomas was a Welsh writer and probably one of our greatest poets. He first worked as a Shakespearean actor, which had a great influence on his writing style. Thomas was first published before he turned 20, and died of pneumonia at 39. He struggled financially until he became a radio and film script writer. When his books were successfully published in the US, he became making tours which contributed to his poor health and lack of medical care.
