The universe is a story created by the divine/God/the ultimate power (you call it as you may like) and we are the characters in it. It's a really miraculous story that the master writer has written for all of us. In this small universe, it seems like a conjecture that we are (at least till now) the species that have been trying to understand, where did we come from and how we have evolved ?
What can be better way to do understand that other than "Stories" themselves ?

And there comes this simple, yet intensely written book by an author, a full time home maker, a friend, a child (by heart), a writer always curious to share stories with the world. Yes, a befitting title, with stories which leave the reader to ponder upon very minute facets of their ride in this world. The auto-rickshaw in the book's cover resonates with the journey of life where memories (the passengers that come and go) play a pivotal role in carving our story of life.

There are eleven stories in the book, written in a simple yet elegant way, instantly connecting you to the characters and situations, which may resonate with you at some point of life. So, go ahead and give it a read. You may ask, why ?
Because there are best sellers and famous authors all over the internet, but the gems like Mrs. Prasanthi Pothina are hidden treasures which we need to find out and appreciate !!

Two of my favorite memories from the book are:
Umbrella: The one in which a woman writes a letter to her mother, who passed away a few years back, but yet still alive everywhere around the woman.

Sometimes: A young girl, about to get married to a match fixed by her parents, after a lot of persuasion, was about to elope on the day of her marriage. But, upon seeing a kid lost in the marriage venue, took a step back and decided to help her get back to her parents. In this process, she came to know that the kid had lost her mother and came to the venue with her father. Things took a miraculous turn, when all these characters met and the story came to an unexpected ending.

Every memory is unique and we as humans, tend to somehow remember the bad ones more than cherishing the happy ones. If we can just reverse the way we look at memories, it will make life much simpler and easier for us.

While we are on the topic of memories, I wanted to add that I came to know about the book in an interesting podcast (The Book Talk Podcast by Hosted by Ms. Kiran Singh), where a book is reviewed by a guest every Friday. Do check out the podcast too. Links are shared below:
