All this naughty omega elf wants for Christmas is a Daddy alpha who can keep his world from falling apart.
Felix I’m a mess, I’ll admit it freely. I thought getting a degree in Music would be fun, and it was, but now that I’ve graduated, I have no job—except working as an elf at the Barrington Christmas Market—and no prospects. I can’t even pay my share of the rent, and my roommates are about to throw me out. What I do have is a massive crush on one of the driving forces behind the Christmas market, Councilman “Hottie”. But why would an alpha as important as he is ever look at me?
Hunter My whole reputation as a community leader rests on the success of the Barrington Christmas Market. Everything is going well…and then the cutest, naughtiest omega waltzes into my life and threatens to blow up everything. Because he’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a boy, and he desperately needs me. Felix and I are perfect together, but when the press finds out about our unconventional relationship, could that spell the end of my career and the Christmas market?
Naughty Elf is the first in a series of novellas about the Barrington Christmas Market. It is a spin-off of the Bangers & Mash series and involves a group of omega friends and their misadventures, nosey reporters, underhanded rivals, Christmas wishes come true, and Heat Lightning pills used in the right way at the wrong time.
Well, this is a new genre for me, and I was pleasantly surprised. Imagine Jack from Will and Grace meeting the Daddy of his dreams while dressed as an elf.
Naughty Elf is the first book in the ‘Omega Christmas Elves’ series. It stars Felix, a feisty omega, and Hunter, an Alpha Daddy. This is told in first person from Felix and Hunter’s povs.
Even though this is the first story in the series, I started by reading the books out of order. I don’t feel that the series needs to be read in order because each book is clear about the ‘elf’ characters and their love interests. However, Felix is prominent in all the books. He’s a strong, outspoken character and his partner is Hunter, an Alpha that is running for town mayor. The events in the books all include Hunter having run-ins with his mayoral opposition. So even though this book can be read last, like I did, I think it would work best if this is the first story read, and the other books could be read in any order, except for the last book.
The blurb does a decent job of explaining the plot. It’s about Felix and his lust for Hunter even before he meets Hunter officially. Hunter loves Felix’s outspokenness and his bratty behavior. It appeals to him as a Daddy. However, Hunter must be careful about being seen with Felix because the current mayor is trying to convince the public that Hunter is unfit to be mayor. This creates a conflict when it’s found that Hunter and Felix are seeing each other. The relationship is light BDSM, like spanking with some Daddy/little interaction, and that’s pretty much it.
Hunter is a kind, firm, and knowledgeable Alpha, and Daddy. He treats Felix well and Felix adores Hunter. They’re a cute pair and I could believe in them as a couple. The author did a good job of creating distinct characters and voices.
There was a continuity issue I found in this book when Felix refers to Tucker, one of the omega elves who is a main character in the last book. Since I read this series out of order, it was easy for me to spot the error. Tucker has a medical condition that has delayed his heat by quite a few years. In fact, he may never have a heat. Tucker is embarrassed about his lack of heat and has never told anyone about his disability, so I don’t think anyone knows that he’s never had a heat. All the omegas are surprised when he tells them about his problem. This includes Felix. However, in this book Felix says this:
‘Tucker was super shy—which was the exact opposite of me, so how we were friends was anyone’s guess—and even thought I knew he’d had a couple heats before, I’d never heard of him connected with any alpha.’
There’s no way Felix would have known Tucker had heats as he says here because Tucker has never had a heat, and I don’t remember Tucker lying about it, he just evaded the topic when it was talked about or ignored the topic. This is a huge continuity issue that was missed by the betas and editor.
Anyway, I enjoyed Naughty Elf, its plot and characters. This series can be read out of order, but I suggest reading this book first since Felix and Hunter are prominent figures in the other books. I give this, 4 Stars.
M.M. Farmer's "Naughty Elf" is the first novel in her new Omega Christmas series. It's in the same universe as her Bangers & Mash series. ["All this naughty omega elf wants for Christmas is a Daddy alpha who can keep his world from falling apart.

This was a fun little novella filled with passion and sacrifice and protective instincts and naughtiness. I love all of M.M.'s books, and this one made me really excited for the rest of this series.
Holiday Cheer Meter: 3/5 (Where 1 is as Christmassy as 'Die Hard' and 5 is more like 'Elf')
1st person, past tense, dual PoV Felix Bidwell (20), omega (sweet apple), elf at the Barrington Christmas Market Hunter Vincent (mid-thirties-ish), alpha (musky), Barrington city councilman / mayoral candidate
I've been looking forward to diving into the series since I wrapped reading the Bangers & Mash series a couple months ago. This was filled with all of the light, fun, instant connection romance I've come to expect from MM Farmer. If you haven't read that series, don't worry, this stands alone well; the final couple and the Heat Lightning system that was created make an appearance in this book but all necessary context is given.
This delivers all it promised, with a hot mess (Felix) in need of a Daddy (Hunter). Felix is pretty chaotic, but he's trying his best, he just need the proper... motivation to pull himself together and with Hunter's guidance he's well on his way. The other omegas blended together a little bit for me, but I imagine that issue will resolve itself as I continue reading the series, which I'm eager to do.
I'm not sure whether some of the plot threads that started here will carry through the rest of the series but I'd sure like to know whether .
Omega Felix is a mess who after doing a degree in music has struck out getting a job except a temporary one at the new Barrington Christmas Market as an elf. He has no romantic prospects either just a crush on Alphs and Councilman Hunter who devised the idea of the Christmas Market and is currently standing in the election to be the next mayor. When Hunter sees Felix he is the cutest and naughtiest Omega he has seen because he is everything that he has ever wanted in a boy, needs him as his Daddy badly, but could also blow everything up. Felix and Hunter are perfect together, but when the press finds out about their unconventional relationship, could that spell the end of Huner's career and the Christmas market?
This was a sweet story about a new Christmas Market, some unsavoury local politics and two men who fell in love and that meant that an Alpha Daddy found his forever Omega boy. I enjoyed the appearance of the Bangers and Mash characters in the market. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.
** Please note this is a spin-off from the Banger and Mash series.
Felix gained a degree in Music, but now has no job—except working as an elf at the Barrington Christmas Market—and no prospects. Felix and Hunter are perfect together, but then the press finds out about our unconventional relationship The first in a series about the elves at the Barrington Christmas Market. A quick charming & delightful story. I loved Felix & Hunter who were perfect for each other, a case of almost insta love. I loved how they supported each other especially when things looked dicey for Hunter
Fast, funny, hot and sweet. I didn't expect the fast pace after reading the Bangers series but I think it definitely works for this book and characters.
Felix is young, crazy but good natured. My issues with are very similar to the ones I had with the last book in Bangers series, his actions are quite impulsive and reckless... but not to the same point than with Arlo. Particularly I felt very uncomfortable with the use of the Heat Lighting pill when there's an issue of consent that should've been addressed properly... or shouldn't have been so gray.
Hunter is great and I liked him best. A good mix of kinky and in love impulsive but also professional. I would vote for him.
Other characters are interesting. The presence of Arlo and Holden was nice. Ending had a satisfactory victory against an a-hole so, very nice. I give this one a 4.
This is a fun, low-angst omegaverse Daddy/boy novella that is a perfect, light Christmas read. Felix is an omega whose life is sort of a mess. Everything seems to go wrong, but at least he has a job working as an elf at the new Christmas Market.
Hunter is a councilman who will be running for mayor in the next election. The Christmas Market is his brainchild, but the current mayor is working against it to thwart his candidacy. When Hunter meets Felix, it is an instant attraction. When the two men find out that they have a mutual interest in the Daddy/boy dynamic, things seem perfect. Unfortunately, there are forces trying to break them apart.
This book has fun passion, racy time, a bit of frustration, and a beautiful emerging love.
Yay for the Good Guys! This is a fast paced story set during the Christmas season wherein the main characters, Felix and Hunter, put their efforts into averting a tragedy. There is some heat in this Omega-world tale, which is well written and has some very likable characters. Most of all, I loved that the good guys banded together to overcome a potential disaster which the bad guy (of course there was one) was working towards pulling off to his own advantage. The story was interesting and I have enjoyed reading it very much. I read an ARC (Advance Reader Copy of this delightful story and am happy to leave my voluntary review.
I usually enjoy this author much better then I did in this one. I didn’t find Felix very likeable, to me he came across as a dishonest, sneaky omega who didn’t seem to care about anyone but himself. He didn’t seem to care about paying his roommates back even though him not paying rent was money out of their pocket. He took the pill to send himself into a mini heat, thankfully he owned up to it and told Hunter who didn’t care but why do it in the first place. Would have enjoyed it better with a more likeable omega.
Very festive, fun, naughty & nice holiday romance. Loved the play between the MCs, the budding romance & trials it brought with it, the way they worked through and around them all, never losing sight of what they truly wanted, what mattered. Felix & Hunter stand together with a little - or a lot - help from their friends and strangers alike, to show their opposition what Christmas really means, what love, kindness, and positivity can do. Excellent series starter & world-building. Looking forward to more of these crazy, cute, quirky Omega Christmas Elves!
MM Farmer has extended her Bangers and Mash series with these short tales about the various “elves” working at a Christmas market. This story made me smile a lot as Felix and Hunter find each other and quickly develop a bond helped on by Heat Lightning pills. As is said in another story….can I have some more please!
This was a good book. We see a glimpse of the Fletchers with their magic pill. I enjoyed the Ddlb dynamic between these two, and the societal struggles they try and discount. His friend Tucker was totally right; everyone’s relationships and desires are different, it doesn’t make them wrong.
Wonderful story of Felix and Hunter finding their HEA at the Christmas Market. Loved these two together, they were perfect and brought out the best in each other. Light Omegaverse with a little bit of Daddy kink mixed in made for a great read.
Cute, sweet and political, to a certain degree anyway, as the old mayor turns nasty and grumpy in his attempts to ruin Christmas and a rivals reputation. But he wasn't banking on a cheeky little elf with attitude. A lovely little read but sadly a rather abrupt ending with some unresolved points.
You can smell those doughnuts. Really enjoyed listening to this book via epub for sight impaired people. Excellent book, well done everyone involved in this book. I would recommend this book as a Christmas present. Love these omega series.
A cute and easy alpha/omega Xmas story. I would’ve liked to see a little bit more about their back stories, but it’s understandable why it’s not in there if it’s a light and fluffy Xmas read!
This was a great read. It has me wanting to read the next one and the other series Bangers and Mash. I can’t wait to see how the Christmas Elf’s are doing and how the market goes.
I really enjoyed the Christmas storyline, it was well written and had 2 of my favourite elements, daddy/boy and omegaverse. A really cute couple, a little drama plenty of steam and romance, I cannot wait to read more!
Really leans into Daddy/boy, omegaverse-style. It's a spin-off of the Bangers & Mash series, so a few of the past MCs pop up. Daddy/boy isn't a kink I'm particularly fond of, but I just really enjoy Farmer's writing.
Tropes: age gap, wealth gap, kink-heavy, practically instalove
Cute, sweet, and fun, although, like candy, gone too soon and not quite fulfilling. I'm guessing that the rather abrupt ending is because these stories are going to segue through the series - so maybe best saved until they all come out and then read back to back, like Stephen King's Green Mile. I'm okay with that, so it's what I'm going with.
::::side rant:::: I am personally a little weirded out by the Daddy/boy subset of dom/sub relationships. Plus, the whole Omegaverse genre has some aspects that twinge my aversion to relegating people to upper/lower class based on skin color/gender, and I really hate that the originator of this genre felt the need to not just assign the omegas (female) to the lowest, and very frequently abused class, but also made them prisoners to their bodily functions. Having copious amounts of fluid pouring out of your ass when you get aroused is just evil to the nth power. Whatever nonbinary/binary they belong to, whoever dreamed up this whole alternate universe is seriously misogynistic.
That said, of the few authors in this genre that I have read, Merry/MM Farmer is the only one I have found that I will continue reading. She gives a much lighter, happier touch to the genre. Of the others I've read: never going there again, and discarded without finishing have been my outcome. I'll not mention other names, because there are obviously readers who love dark, ugly, abusive, and disgusting. NOT my idea of a romance. If I want that, I'd rather read stories based on actuality, by Black authors like N.K. Jamison or Toni Morrison.
