George Reynolds was a general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and polygamist, eventually becoming the named party to the U.S. Supreme Court Case Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878), which held that religious duty was not a suitable defense to a criminal indictment.
I found myself very frustrated when trying to read this commentary. Not only did it not have a lot of new scriptural insight, but it would often flit from topic to topic without regard for continiuity. i would say the author has ADHD. It was very difficult to keep place in the scriptures so that you could understand what the original thought was that prompted the need for the commentary. i filed this book under the prompt read three books by the same author 1/3 (Booklist queen 2024)
