This focus allows even the most knowledgeable theatre person to see these works of art through new lenses. I loved how he set up the historical context for each of the innovations that he details with a clear love of the form and a deep knowledge of the canon. All of this is shared in a thoroughly enjoyable and informative manner. Recommended highly for theatre professionals, scholars, and fans alike. (I was sad when it ended.) A great achievement.
