Most people think I’m a moron. In actuality, I’m a man with a plan.
It’s one of those three-year plans that takes longer than three years.
Still, I’ve been making it happen. Checking off those to-dos and turning them into to-dones.
Everything is almost lined up.
And then my phone rings.
By the time I get to Jess, she’s unconscious and bleeding.
My carefully crafted plan blows up in my face.
I tell the hospital we’re engaged. We aren’t, but apparently, in that place, you need a permission slip to see your most important, so I do what has to be done.
I toss together an epic apology salad for when she opens her eyes, and when she does…
She asks me who I am.
I’m willing to overlook the insult since, you know, head injury, but then Nurszilla spills the beans on our pending nuptials.
And just like that, my friend turns into my fiancé, and I’m not even mad at it.
How could I be? Her curves fit in my arms perfectly. Kissing her is like whoa and makes me forget I’m living a lie.
I know I have to come clean, but someone dirtier than me is stalking my final girl, and until she remembers who, it’s on me to keep her safe.
The closer we get, the guiltier I feel.
When all this is over, will she forgive me? Or will everything I’ve done cost me everything I’ve always wanted?

This book had me cracking so much, and Ben (20) was just too much to handle. 😂 He always has the funniest lines, and I don't think I've ever laughed and cried so much over a single character. This guy was so hilarious, and his silly antics lightened up some really serious scenes. I also enjoyed how witty he was and how he was still able to express his emotions. I really liked Ben, and he's definitely one of the MMCs I'll never forget.

As for Jess (20), she's okay, I guess? I mean, I didn't connect with her, and her insecurities kind of ate up a huge part of the book. But I did like her friendship with Ben and Matty. Aside from that and her talent, there's nothing really memorable about her. 🤷‍♀️

I liked the book's premise and got really piqued by it. Jess sees something she shouldn't have, gets caught, and almost dies. The mystery of finding out who pushed her down the stairs that led to her getting amnesia was really intriguing.

But I feel like the majority of the book was focused on the romance and friendship of this group instead of finding the person behind Jess's attack. For someone who hasn't read any of the books in this series, the supporting cast is really overwhelming. I can't keep track of who's who; even after finishing this story, I'm still confused. 😂

As for the romance, I was not really invested in mundane things in their daily lives. While some of it was enjoyable to read, it seemed more like filler to extend the book's length than was necessary. This could've been a few pages shorter, imo. But I looooved the fact that they were each other's one and only. ❤️

Also, the word "bro" was used more times than I could've imagined. Every time I have to read this, I know little by little that my patience is running thin. I almost DNF because I got to the point that I almost hurdled my Kindle to the nearest wall after I read the word "bro" again. I'm still unsure if I did the right thing by finishing this book. 😅

I was more curious in knowing who was after Jess, but when it happened, my interest was no longer there. The story dragged on, and I just want to be over it and read the words "the end." Sadly to say, this book didn't hold my interest; maybe this isn't just for me.

Anyway, other readers might find this up their alley.

I don’t think the book said H had dated before but he has kissed others in middle/ high school during spin the bottle. That’s as far as detail goes.
h has never dated before (if I remember right) because the H chased everyone off
No OW- mention of girls hitting on him at parties but he ignores them (not on page just past mention)

A little too sweet and pointedly PC for me. Made for a dull book. I liked the protective possessive hero but most of this book felt cartoonish to me.

I was unsure. He was absolute. I felt broken. He radiated strength. I had questions. He was the answer.

5 stars!

I'm so freaking happy to be back at Westbrook with my favorite bros! I've been so excited to finally get to Kruger's story ever since we first met him in book one, and I have to say he surprised the hell out of me in the best way. Kruger and Jess have been in love with each other since they first met in middle school. Although their drastically different backgrounds and familial expectations kept them in the friend-zone, their attraction and admiration for each other always simmered in the background.

When Jess is attacked after hours on campus, Kruger is first at her side as she awakes with no memory of what happened or who he is. Desperation and love cause him to claim Jess as his fiancé, and the love she feels for him only helps to reaffirm his hasty lie. However as Jess works to regain her memory, she slowly discovers that her relationship with Kruger isn't as easy as she first thought...and that there is someone at Westbrook who doesn't want her to remember what she saw that night.

I absolutely LOVED the relationship and dynamic between Kruger and Jess! Even though their engagement was unorthodox, the love and devotion they felt towards each other transcended all other obstacles and finally allowed them be together. I also loved getting to see more of Prism and what makes him tick; I have a feeling that I'm going to love him too! Seeing all of the bros together and happily roasting each other was so freaking amazing, and I cannot wait for the next two books in the series after the hints that Cambria dropped towards the end🖤

Tropes: friends-to-lovers, fake relationship, obsessed hero, heroine-in-danger, amnesia, swimmer romance, opposite sides of the track, hurt/comfort, 'who did this to you' vibes, found family, band of brothers, slow burn, STEAMY🔥

Ladies -- get ready for Ben Kruger -- the funny guy, the best BFF, the sexy swimmer, the possessive alpha, the perfect gentleman, and the closet millionaire!

You know that Savage Garden song? "I knew I loved you before I met you, I think I dreamed you into life..." Ben Kruger is exactly what would happen if a woman were to dream up the perfect man! He's strong and protective, plus respectful, sweet and sexy all wrapped up into one package! Swoon.

Whoa is a friends to lovers story for the ages. Ben and Jess have been besties since middle school, both believing they weren't good enough for the other. How sad, right?! Ben has spent his high school and college years trying to become what Jess needs and Jess has been trying to accept that she might only ever have his friendship. BUT, when Jess is in an accident, Ben tells the ER doctors that he's her fiance so he can remain by her side. So sweet! Until she wakes up and has no idea who he is. Yep, amnesia.

This story is a roller coaster, as Ben struggles with protecting Jess and treating her the way he's always wanted to treat her, while feeling like crap for lying to her. Jess doesn't remember the night she got hurt or who might have hurt her, while someone is trying to track her down and finish the job.

I love Jess's character. Unlike me, she's a horror movie buff, and honestly this whole book kind of has horror movie vibes, like there's danger lurking around every corner (page), which I thought was a really cool touch. Some of the scarier suspenseful moments had me sweating! Points to Jess for handling it all. And even while she's clearly in distress over her memory, she is not afraid to speak up for herself. No surprise that Ben sees her as his final girl!

And I will say it again -- Ben Kruger is so much more than he appears on the surface! We already knew him as a fantastic friend to Prism and the comic relief of the Elite bros. But he's also smart, driven, and so so dedicated to Jess. With every page, more is revealed about everything he's been playing close to the vest, and you will love every minute!

Now for some side character love! Matt Prism is the sweetest little jelly bean! He's quiet, but he more than makes up for it with his clear love for Kruger and Jess. He is there for them every step of the way. And we finally meet Arsen! He already seems awesome and I cannot wait to see what happens for the two of them in the next book!

I don't remember Jess from previous books but she's been in Ben's life - and his heart - since middle school. They're in college now and when Jess gets attacked and gets amnesia there's no way anyone's going to keep Ben from taking care of her.
Great story. 5 stars

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Whoa by Cambria Hebert is the 6th stand alone in her Westbrook Elite series. However, every book in this series is golden, so you should probably read them all...just saying.

Jessica has been in love with her best friend Ben since they were in middle school and vice verse. They never made it out of the friend zone because she thought she wasn't good enough for him and he was waiting for the moment that he could fully support them on his own without his trust fund. When Jess gets attacked for seeing something she wasn't meant to, it completely changes everything. Ben realizes he could have lost her before ever having her. Jess unfortunately wakes up with amnesia. Ben claims they're engaged in order to be allowed to remain at her side in the hospital. When Jess regains her memory and discovers his lies with it destroy their friendship and their future. Will it even matter if the person who hurt Jess succeeds the next time.

My heart clenched. God, I loved her. For so damn long. I always planned to make her mine. And now she was. But it was a lie.

I loved this one just as much as the first two M/F books of the series! Ben is just *swoon* with his possessiveness, over protectiveness and the way he absolutely cherishes her. Jess is such a sweetheart and when we get to her know her in the first half of the book we see her as an opening caring person. Also, totally enamored with Ben even when she wakes up without her memory, It's hard to believe she was able to keep her feelings at bay before. The two of them had me sighing, swooning , and just 100% invested in their outcome. Their chemistry is tangible from the moment he discovers that Jess is in trouble. His instincts and protectiveness goes into over drive. As she heals he tries to be a gentleman but she can't ignore the chemistry between them. The steam between them is hot damn and well written , Cambria Hebert writes a mean sex scene.

“You’re mine,” I rumbled, finding the hem of her shirt so I could get to skin. “Mine."

I can't review a Westbrook Elite series without mentioning the rest of the swim crew. Who are probably my favorite found family ever, or at least top 5. Ever past MC brings a smile to my face, their group chat gave me life lol Special shout out to Prism who is Ben's ride or die and a brother to Jess. He made me heart swell and I can't wait for him to find someone to cherish him .

Overall, Whoa was a fantastic romance that had all the drama and dangers that come with being the love of a Westbrook Elite swimmer ( ya'll these boy's girls have the worst luck) . A best friends to lovers romance with a found family swim team, memory loss, fake engagement, high steam, trauma coffee, piggyback rides, a touch her and die MMC, a FMC with final girl energy, and satisfying HEA.

In the words of Ted "Theodore" Logan, this book is "whoa".

Amnesia-fauxmance to romance? What's not to love?

A sports romance that does not involve hockey or football? Yes please!

Add i that I adore all the Westbrook Elite guys so far, well you can't go wrong with another book, can you?

Kruger is just all kinds of swoony. We all need a guy (or gal) in our lives like him, and Jess is lucky she claimed him, or I would! He is not at all what I thought he was going to be like in the long run. I knew he was a good guy from before, but this man in Whoa? A-freaking-mazing.

And the Elite found family? We also all need a group of friends like them.

I enjoyed seeing snippets of the couples from the earlier books, and now I need Prism's story, stat!

I loved this story so much. I loved that even when they had a disagreement/fight and Jess was mad at Ben, they had an honest conversation and worked it out. I loved how he loved her. He was so sweet and protective. I loved the way Elite was there for them every step of the way. Those boys and girls are found family goals! And I can honestly say I didn't see the twist coming. Great suspense, fun banter and just a wonderful story.

Why am i still reading these books? Oh right. Because I have really liked (even loved some) of her MM romances. And the one after this one is an MM.

So, since i’ve read all of these so far, i felt compelled to read this one.

Terrible. Omg. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: ALL OF THE MMC ARE THE EXACT SAME! it’s ridiculous. from the pet names they call their significant other, to their behavior to the stupid “bro” they’re always uttering. It’s just too much. it’s not original.

You can have OTT alpha male without writing him the exact same damn way.

We’ve met Kruger in all the other books. I got a sense of him. I liked him. I thought i “knew him”. but then this story pops out and he is NOTHING LIKE HE WAS IN THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.

It’s disappointing. I’m tired of reading about rude ass men who are stupidly OTT. it’s annoying.

And this needs to be said: ATHLETES DO NOT EAT WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANT AND STILL MAINTAIN THEIR PHYSIQUE. they can’t just binge on pizza and burgers and popcorn like they’re starving and then go and perform top notch. in the real world, athletes bust their asses to work out, eat healthy, and stay on a strict schedule. at least, if you wanna be any good.

So this whole “eating pizza and waffles several times a week” thing isn’t true. and frankly, it’s annoying. it just adds to the rest of the ridiculous nonsense of this series.

this does not include WISH. i still fucking Max and Wes. and i liked Win and Lars enough too.

But see? those are both MM. i just don’t like her MF ones.

okay, there it is. I am still going to read WHISPER because, hello, it’s MM.

4.5 stars!

I haven’t read a book by this author in awhile, although I do love her #Nerd series. I’ve been seeing the fun special edition covers for the other books so far in this series, the ones not with the naked men on them like this one, and finally had some time when I saw a blog tour that I could jump in and check one out. Although I did already buy one of the others just because I loved the special cover so much, lol. And after reading this one I definitely want to go back and get the stories for the couples we met here.

The story started off with a crazy scary moment, and then we got into a “fake” dating type of situation, although because Jess wakes up with amnesia, it is only fake for Ben, even though it is all real for him, the feelings he’s had for her since as long as he can remember. He’s an alpha, possessive male, and at times it was a bit annoying how he would jump all over even his friends, and his gay male friends, who might touch “his girl.” That bugged me a bit. I don’t mind a tiny bit of jealousy, but in some of the cases it was a bit over the top for me, and I’d have been annoyed. Now if he’d seemed a bit more joking in the way he did it, it would have gone over better for me.

Not that Ben wasn’t great other than that though! And when the first really steamy all the way scene happened, well let’s just see I didn’t see the twist that came with that! The bad guy was kept a mystery for a long time, although Jess got certain feelings even with her amnesia, when certain people were around, and that led to all the pieces of the puzzle falling into place with the right words from someone who knew what had happened.

As I said, I really did like the characters, and actually feel that while this is standalone for sure, there are a few things that might make a tiny bit more sense if I go back and read just what else has happened to this cast of characters in the other books.

This is a series that just should not work for me, but I continue to read them as they are released and I always gain some sort of enjoyment from them.

Not my favorite but it ended up being not so bad.

It took me a hot minute to get into this one. Firstly, I feel like this Kruger just blasted off the page as a totally different character than he has been in the first five books. I get it, he had to be this way to fit the theme, it just was a little jarring to go from thinking he was sort of the dumb jock of the group to this guy. Secondly, Jess. If she has ever been mentioned or made any appearance before now, I just don't recall it.

Anywhoo.

As I mention in almost all of these reads, the lack of "calling the parents" is always astonishing to me and I struggle though it. I get it here, the girl's Mom wouldn't have done anything to help, it just always throws me a bit off. Not to mention, they would CALL THE PARENTS.

Once I understood where these two were coming from, why they were the way they were, I was excited to have them just FIGURE IT OUT and get there.

Oh, and as shitty as Ben's (yes, we have to call him Ben now, at least for this review) parents were I do hope they make the right choice. Fingers crossed for that.

Overall it fit the bill and I flew through it. It's funny, Kruger and Prism were probably the two characters that I just didn't know how they'd fit the theme, but now, Kruger is just as Alpha and outrageous as the others. Plus, I can't wait to get Prism's story because he's got one and getting to know him better here just made me want to wrap him up in a huge hug.

I always seem to rate these four stars. This will be no exception.

My heart!! ❤️❤️❤️

I say this all the time, because I'm blessed to read so many amazing authors ... I love this series!! Every book gives us family (blood & found) & friendships that are full of LOVE. The bros aren't afraid of emotion. They show and tell each other they are loved and appreciated, & imo stories that give us these kind of men are a cut above!

Now, specifically Kruger & Jess - 😍😍😍! I have been rooting for Ben to show his true intelligence & he did not disappoint. Yes, he's a jokester & what have you, but he's got a plan for his future, and that plan is brilliant! I love his heart towards Jess, but also towards Prism. The care he takes with this little circle within his circle is fabulous.

I love Jess's heart, as well. She has a bond with her Benji & Matty - each is different (romantic vs familial) but equally strong. Ben is jealous of anyone else hugging his girl, except Matt, bc he's truly both their brother of the heart. And her strength as she navigates the confusion of amnesia, as well as what happens when she regains her memories - thumbs up!!

Also, shoutout to Max here, bc we get to see more of HIS heart, & grumpy Max's heart is beautiful. 😁

Agh, I always end up being so verbose & gushy about these books bc they just bring so much emotion I have to share!

I'll close with this - their story is full of sweetness, and the 🔥🔥🔥 is hot after it ignites, the suspense is oooh, the humor is great fun, & the whole story is like, Whoa!

😍😍😍😍

Cambria Hebert's Whoa is not just a book; it's a heartwarming roller coaster of humor, romance, and suspense that seamlessly weaves together the captivating tale of Benjamin Hayes Kruger and Jessica Anne Park. Buckle up because this friends-to-lovers story takes you on a journey that'll have you hooked from the very first page.

Benjamin Hayes Kruger, also known as Kruger, is more than just the resident funny guy. He's a delightful mix of protective alpha, devoted friend, and a man harboring a secret plan. The carefully crafted life he's built takes an unexpected turn when his best friend, Jess, ends up in the hospital after a life-altering accident. What follows is a cascade of events triggered by a little white lie that turns their dynamic into a fake engagement, setting the stage for a whirlwind of emotions and unforeseen consequences.

Hebert's masterful storytelling skillfully incorporates the amnesia trope, adding complexity and depth to Jess, a horror movie buff with a resilient spirit who emerges as a relatable and strong female lead. The friends-to-lovers journey of Ben and Jess unfolds with both humor and suspense, as Ben navigates the challenges of protecting Jess and treating her the way he's always longed to, all while grappling with the guilt of his initial deception.

The horror movie vibes and suspenseful moments contribute to the story's uniqueness, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Jess's resilience and willingness to speak up for herself shine through, making her a character worth rooting for. As layers of Ben's character are unveiled, readers discover his intelligence, dedication, and profound commitment to Jess.

I'm absolutely head over heels for this series, and Jess and Kruger's story just fueled my addiction even more! Whoa is a perfect blend of romance, humor, and suspense. Whether you're a fan of friends-to-lovers tales, mystery, or simply crave a well-crafted narrative with compelling characters, this book is must-read. The anticipation for what's coming up next in the series is killing me. Oh, and can we talk about Prism? Finding out why he always had those airpods hit me right in the feels, and learning about his preferences in relationships was a total curveball. I'm on the edge of my seat, counting the days until I can dive into Prism's story. Fingers crossed it's next in line!

• Would I recommend this book: Yes
• Would I re-read this book: Done it already :)
• Would I read future books by this author: Yes

Whoa, isn't my favorite in the series.

Idk if I just wasn't in the mood, but I couldn't lose myself in the crazy cheesy plot like normal. I liked Ben. He always had the funny lines, and I loved how devoted he was to Jess. Jess was just alright, I couldn't really connect with her for most of the book. But I did really enjoy the friendship between them and Prism. (I really can't wait for his book). Their relationship was cute, and overall I enjoyed them together. I did like how Jess took care of her issue at the end.

I think the plot was just a bit too sweet, there just wasn't enough tension for me. Also, the friend group was a bit too much for me. I do love the found family trope these books have going on, but with 6 couples it's getting a bit overwhelming. BUT I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THE NEXT TWO BOOKS Prism finally has his turn and FREAKING COACH gets his own book?! I'm very excited about that.

Rating: 3,0 stars.

I really liked Kruger (Ben). He’s always been the goofball sidekick in previous books. That goofball personality was nowhere to be found in this book (unfortunately). He was very protective and alpha here. I loooooved his friendship with Prism (Matt/Matty). He was such an awesome BFF.

The 3 of them (Kruger, Prism, and Jess) have known each other since middle school. They both secretly love each other, but remain friends. Loved that Kruger saved himself for Jess and was working hard to deserve her.

Excited for Prism’s book. We get a brief scene with his love interest (Arsen).

I loved Kruger and Jess. They were so cute together. I loved how protective and possessive Kruger was. I will say it was a bit OTT but I found it to be hilarious. It made me giggle every single time. I loved how amnesia storyline played out. She was angry but Kruger made her see that it was all real even if started out fake. Swoon. This was such a heartwarming and cute read. I loved the amnesia and fake engagement trope 😍 altho not my favorite in the series, I still enjoyed reading it. The chemistry was fire and Benjamin Hayes Kruger is just everything 🥹✨️ Idk why but I preferred Jessica's character when she had amnesia more than when she got her memories back... it's just a me thing. Woah! The name of this book is spot on!!! LOVED IT!! Who knew one small lie would get Ben exactly what he wanted. It may not be the way he wanted to do it but he saw no other way. I absolutely fell in love with Ben. From his over-protectiveness to everything he did to feel like he deserved her.

When Jess saw something she shouldn't have, it changed the trajectory of her life and Ben's. She was such a strong person and she loved Ben for so long but didn't want to overstep the friendship that they had. They'd both were under the assumption that friends were better than nothing.

These two *woah*, the love that they shared, the chemistry that was off the charts and the friendship that they had for years are what a love story is.

It kept me reading past bedtime because I REALLY wanted to know what she saw. Who hurt her? I needed to know!! I loved this book and it was an amazing edition to the Westbrook Elite series!!

What you’ll find in this book:

•Virgin hero
•Protective hero
•Found Family
•Pining (my favorite!)
•Romantic Suspense
•Amnesia

It almost felt weird finally finding out Kruger and Prism’s firsts names, but in a fantastic way. We really get to know these two characters so much better. As a reader I felt like I really misjudged them!

I loved that Jess was making her own way, with multiple jobs. A bit of an outsider, but strong character. This book has childhood friends to lovers, with ALL the pining.

I’m very much looking forward to Prism’s book, and his HEA. Literally cannot wait!!

"If you run off, I'll chase you down." "I won't run." "I'll chase you down," I repeated. I meant it. I'd chase this woman to the ends of the earth. - Kruger, Ch. 29

As usual with a Cambria Hebert book, it's taken me a few days to get passed the hangover that I get sucked into. Whoa is a total 5-star read and it has me wanting to take a deep dive back into Westbrook, which honestly, I probably will after I'm done with Gearshark and Bearpaw... because of them being intertwined.

Now, like the other books in this series, you could read them as a standalone, but it really does give you the much bigger picture plus insight into other characters that come after, or even those that we've already fallen in love with. Besides, I don't know about you, but I love the little inside jokes that come about because of things in the previous books.

Whoa is the 6th book in Cambria Hebert's Westbrook Elite series. And boy does it get you going in the very first chapter. This isn't my first foray into a book with a character that has amnesia, (if you haven't read Cambria's Amnesia and Amnesty duology, then you really need to!) but the way that the FMC gets it was new.

Benjamin Kruger is our male main character, we meet him first in Book 1, though we only know him as Kruger, and he's awesome! He's super sweet, protective... and growly. Not something that we see in the previous books, but once we get a deeper look I can totally see. As he's grown he's had two friends, Jess and Prism, and has gone to school with them both for years. However, Kruger wants more than just friendship with Jess and has been working towards that for a long time. And that time has finally arrived.

Jessica Park is our female main character, and we do see her a bit in the other books, but not as much as Kruger. She's one of the lifeguards at the pool where our Bro's the Elite swim and is generally there during their meets. Just being friends with Kruger is a spot where Jess believes she'll always stay, not believing there is any other option.

Just like every other time, when something happens to one Elite member, it happens to them all, and they show up en mass to be there to help one another. When gets a call and has to rush out to help Jess, it's put into the Elite chat and they all come running, trauma lattes in hand. (Can't say I blame the guys for hating Caramel lattes, they seem to need them a lot!) These boys and their significant others rallied around Jess is everything, expanding their families to include her, not even because of Kruger, but because of her.

We also get to see a bit of Jess's friendship with Prism (we find out his first name here too! It's Matt). We're told a bit about his past and why he does things, like wearing airpods everywhere. (P.S. I'm pretty sure that Prism is our next Elite member who will be getting a book!)

This one is more on the sweet than the spicy side, but don't think you don't get the spice in here too, because we do!

3 stars. This was disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t nearly as invested in it as I was with previous books. The characters were not that interesting to me, and the plot was a bit meh towards the end. The whole fake fiancée amnesia trope was interesting in a way, but once memories returned, my interest deteriorated. Kruger was funny and idiotic in the past books, but here? He was the typical jealous, protective hero that Cambria loves to write about. I don’t mind these characteristics at all, but Kruger took the jealousy too far for the most mundane things. He got pissy about a lot when he really shouldn’t have. Jess was not very special. She was the classic poor scholarship girl that’s so frequent in college romances, but she didn’t bring much else to the table, personality-wise. Them as a couple was cute here and there but overall, Rush and Landry held my attention for much longer, hence why I loved their book. Win, Lars, and Jamie are my fav characters from this series, so it was nice seeing them again. They were the highlights of this book, but their cameos were still too far and few 😔

Prism was cute and sweet af, and I’m interested in his background. However, his alleged love interest doesn’t hype me that much. It only slightly peaks my curiosity. The story I’m most hyped about is Coach’s, and if he doesn’t get a book, I’ll riot.

Sidenote: Cambria, may you please write a sapphic story for this series? Like introduce a new girl in the next book but give her a female love interest in a future book. Please. Your MM books are a lot of fun, and I think your FF would be too.

Re-read June 2024: I needed a bit of a lighter read after quite a dark romance and this one definitely fit the bill! I love these Uber possessive and protective ‘bros’….Ben is perfection! ♥️

Original review:
I read and loved books 1 and 2 in this series so much, but skipped 3 and 4 because I don’t really enjoy MM romance. Seeing this one was MF again I couldn’t wait to pick it up and boy was I glad I did!
Ben, Ben, Ben…phew! THE perfect man, the ultimate bulldozer! Saved himself for his ‘final girl’ worked for years to become the man he needed to be for her and is SUPER protective, possessive and jealous. I loved everything about him, including his goofiness at times. I also really loved the family the Elite gang has become and how they all care deeply about each other. Makes you want to be a part of it!
Next to all the above, we got a lot of suspense, damsel in distress moments, sugary sweet romance (swoon!) and delicious steam (be prepared to fan yourself).

Loved everything about this and it felt good to be back in the world of Elite swimming! Will be re-reading again and again!

Safety:
No OW/OM
Dual virgins!
No cheating
No separation / no third act break up
Amnesia after being attacked
Violence, blood

I read the whole thing just be able to say this is bad, so bad. Honestly, the series didn't start out this awful, but it's been getting worse and worse.

Jumped book 5 because the sprinkles in book 4 weren't enough to make want to read it, but  wanted to see more of Lars (I truly loved him)

Back to this book, the amnesia trope was so awfully executed, the MC's didn't have a romantic relationship before it and developed very weirdly . The suspense and the last scene before the epilogue... good God, just glad that this is over.

I'm still reading book 7, because I love Prism and want see his love story.

Lol. Ben joins the list of OTT ridiculous college boys who think they’re too cool for school.

But anyway, this was trash - but readable trash.

I do think I was impacted slightly by the fact that I hadn’t read the other books in the series but oh well sucks for me. Or for the rating. C’est la vie.

Ben was stupid though cause his girl gets attacked and he just lets her gallivant around college to get attacked again and again? I can’t forgive that.

Jess was just boring.

And I don’t like the memory loss trope but that’s a me problem :)

cringey at times

Really liked the storyline, however it was OTT at times and also cringe worthy…. Calling everyone bros . Not quite my cup of tea
