This was fast paced thriller/horror that kept me turning the pages enough that I finished it in one sitting.
The cover is scarier than the book. It gives more slasher than supernatural/dark even though there are definitely dark magic elements in the plot.

Loved it. Wish it was longer. For me it was a proper page turner, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next

The book kept me engaged and I liked the premise. However it took a long time to finally get to the meat if the story. I think if that last 1/3 had been the starting place and then built out it would have been a more satisfying read.
The characters were all so annoying making every wrong decision you might imagine. This all felt like plot but then I also feel like the characterization was such that I can absolutely see some of these characters — particularly the sisters — doing some of the foolishness they did do rather than just make the common sense and less chaotic choice.
Would have liked to know more about Beverly as she seemed to be the core of her daughters belief systems, their silences, challengesC but also where they were stubborn and pushed through to whatever outcome good or bad. I wanted to know where she got that defining message about motherhood she imparted to her daughters and why. This would have helped some of the decisions of the characters feel more like a response to yearning and not just haphazard thinking.
Also would have wanted more development on Grace’s storyline in the end and why the person who enters her life — avoiding spoilers — is the way they are. If it is a consequence of her decision than tell us how that came to be, that really would have beefed up the horror.
Overall, I was intrigued. I would read another of King’s books, for sure.

No one could help
That child was evil but they all had to go through the bad things because they of the wish the wanted if only they would've accepted things for what they were then they would've had a better life but greed got to them too bad the family had to go through it with then now they all gone can't wait to ready about the evil child and Jamal

Can’t really explain what I just read but I do know that family got some problems, that baby is the devil, and never to play with black magic. I devoured this book in one sitting. A good page turner, I really wish there was more because I need to know what happens with Jamal and Kaydence. Apparently this won’t be the last we hear from them so I definitely will be locked it whenever that book releases.

Scary
For the first few chapters, I had no idea where the story was headed but I was entertained. The family had many issues, but life could always get worse, which it did. I didn’t see that ending coming and look forward to reading the book to come.

Really interesting concept, I could see someone making this into a movie! Love her stories and how intriguing each person can be and it's usually very entertaining. I can't wait for the next one, I hope to read more this family was interesting!
