The Cornish bakery

Holly & joe were great friends, Holly volunteered at the cornish bakery for 4 weeks while on holiday from her job. Hollys 3 close friends including Joe where very surprised when she told them she was volunteering. They all lived in Manchester so Cornwall was hundreds of miles away. Holly lost her parents in an accident one Christmas & Holly hasn't liked Christmas since. Christmas was her parents favourite time of year but all Holly could remember was the sadness of her parents death. A few days after arriving Diane at the bakery told her she had a visitor, she couldn't think who it was as she didn't know anyone in Cornwall. When she went into the bakery and saw hr friend Joe there she felt angry cos she thought he was checking up on her and that her friends didn't believe she could do this on her own especially at Christmas. Joe said he thought it would be nice to spend a couple of days with her seeing the sites. Holly told Joe to go and she went back to work behind the counter, Diane said Holly should be happy her friend xared enough to drive several hundred miles to see her but Holly was angry. Diane said it showed how much he cares to drive so far to see her & told her to ho and see him. Holly went to Joe and apologised. They agreed to spend some time seeing the sites, the 1st being christmas door wreath making. They continued to do things together & had a good time. Christmas was getting nearer and Holly found herself enjoying like she did when her parents were alive. She loved the friendship of the girls at the bakery and Elsie , Ian & Joe. She was falling in love with Christmas and the Bay. I highly recommend you to read this book it's a must read.

A delightful series of easy to read romances, set in the Cornish Bakery, Penworth Bay. It's owned and run by Elsie and her staff of loyal employees who are her 'bakery family'.

Each month, a volunteer arrives to work in the bakery in exchange for a room. They may be between jobs, needing a fresh start, or just wanting a change of scene during their holiday from their usual job. Over the years, many of the volunteers have stayed in the Bay, enlarging Elsie's 'bakery family'.

Holly arrives to spend her Christmas holiday. She's not celebrated the season since losing her parents in an accident close to Christmas. They absolutely loved the festive season, and so Holly keeps a low profile. What she doesn't realise is that Christmas is celebrated fully in Penworth Bay.

Can Holly find the magic of Christmas again and start to remember the good times she had with her parents?

I can not recommend this series highly enough. Each book is a standalone story, but to get the most out of them, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity and the wider storyline.

I'm really looking forward to reading the next book.

Holly comes to the bay to rekindle her Christmas spirit, lost after her parents died. She is followed down by long time good friend Joe, who soon admits stronger feelings for her. She realises she feels the same, and like so many of their predecessors, they decide to stay in the bay.

Love these short stories, even though they’re very predictable. Light and fluffy, the perfect quick read between books.
