This book was a huge disappointment. Most of the stories are just unrelatable to urban life, and did not reflect the urban struggle specifically, as indicted in the summary. Furthermore, the stories were not all that interesting and some made NO sense. One of the major problems with the book is, the epilogue and prologue are written in urban lingo that aligns with the slang “hit different”. However, the stories have absolutely no urban feel or even, Black feeling to them. I felt that the stories just did not connect with the title. But they would have worked with a more neutral, general title that reflected a non urban and more general genre. Overall, my review and thoughts are, skip this. It’s NOT worth the 1.5hr read.
