Mind (BRILLIANTLY) BLOWN 3, 2, 1, 🚀🚀

Have you ever just sat there and pondered where these authors get these ideas ?💡 🤔 Do you question yourself and say, " Self, imagine if my imagination was that vivid and detailed. I'd write all kinds of books, right?"

Well, that's the kind of author Ms. King is. One of those authors, you must take a step back and say to yourself, " Say what now?" "No way that happened, how did she come up with that idea?" And then you continue reading more and more of her books and realize, oh, yeah. That's just Linette King, that girl is BADD!!! I don't need a synopsis to know I will buy and read her horror shorts. That's just how good she is.

This book is about a group of friends AND enemies who gather together for a class reunion under calculating circumstances, with a game of Truth or Dare with a so-called "twist."

What starts as a night of mid-20-year-olds looking forward to reuniting turns into something none of them expected.

Betrayal, Dark Magic, Jealousy, Gore, Violence, Decapitation, and Mental Health,
King finds a way to bring all aspects of trials and tragedy to the forefront.
Although there are some minor errors (maybe grammatically, if English is your first language, you will notice them, but fly right over them. It absolutely did not take away from the story.

On to my next horror short by Ms. King

this was somewhat interesting but the story line was all over the place and the book needs a lot of editing. there also was a huge plot hole concerning the slender man.

Loved it 🥰

While I typically indulge in romance novels, this thriller surpassed any I've read before. It has sparked a newfound interest in the genre for me. The narrative was seamlessly easy to follow, with no confusion about the characters. The unpredictability kept me on edge, and even though I had a notion of who the last man standing might be after the game, but I had some doubt and surprises throughout the book. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it, especially to those seeking a paranormal thriller twist.

This kinda put me in mind of an indie Tubi film. It was messy, but didn’t really make much sense.

Jasmine has a few mental issues that she tries to overcome since she was young, with the help of her best friend Janay. Her nightmares of the slender man start to become a reality for her & she feels like her world is unraveling now that she’s an adult. Her peers from high school return for a reunion of a dangerous night of truth or dare that leaves them fighting for their lives.
This was my first horror book for this year and the plot was entertaining but there was so many holes in the story & unanswered questions that made the end feel so rushed in my opinion.

Although I felt that this book wasn't for me, it's not to say that someone else may not find it enjoyable. It was just confusing for me and left me with more questions than answers at the end. I felt like there were too many loose ends for it to be intentional.

Why does Brittany think Jasmine had something to do with Brent disappearing to the point of her wanting to hatch this whole "revenge" plan?

Why is Brittany so obsessed with making Jasmine pay for something that Brent did on his own?

Why did the parents lie and say Brent was at boarding school instead of reporting him missing?

What actually happened to Brent?

For that matter, what actually happened to Jasmine in that house?

Why would Jasmine's mother going along with getting her off her meds?

Who is the Slender Man?

How do the parents know the Slender Man?

Why did Jasmine survive the house and no one else? What was so special about her?

Why did Jasmine survive the game?

Who was the old lady showing Brittany dark magic?

Why was the notebook drawn to Janay?

What was actually doing the unaliving? The book said the people were "glitching" and didn't seem real but later told you it was real people.

(For me) the story had potential but there were too many plot holes and unanswered questions. There were also too many characters to keep track of for a 110 page book.

If you need a quick unhinged read. Baby.. This is the ONE! JIGSAW ain't got sh!t on this game of "Truth or Dare". 😩

I'd like to start by saying... IT BE YOUR OWN PEOPLE!!!

Friends, foes, baes, old ho3s and new boo thangs find themselves stuck in a DEADLY game of Truth or Dare. You probably think choosing "Truth" would be a little easier on you, since it's usually a simple yes or no needed to answer the question... SIKE!!! Guess again mfer!!! lol. In this game of Truth or Dare, only ONE person will leave this game alive 1. And 2. Even when you YELL "Truth". Truth is, if you aren't asked to harm/unalive yourself, you WILL for sure be in charge of doing so to somebody else. Whether that's by our own hands, or by the masked man that plays The Grim Reaper.. or is it a woman?? Limbs and other things fly about in the gym as the sick game continues to play out until the LAST MAN IS STANDING.. Again... This may or may not be a man.....

Dark magic, a threesome that was top secret, a spiritual (magical) journal, with a mix of the ultimate betrayal starts it all! Imagine having to watch and listen as people are sl@!n right in front of you. No matter how many times you protest or apologize. The job gets done. Also, please do NOT try to intervene... That could also cause you your life. Don't hesitate either... That will also result in THE END for you.

Everyone thinks Jasmine is lying about seeing the "Slender man" after going in a house she was told to NEVER go around and to definitely NEVER go inside of YEARS prior. The same house she made it out of. While someone else did not. But, wait til' ya'll read about the plot twist. Is Jasmine really seeing things? Is her boyfriend/best friend a part of her losing her mind? Is her mom in on all of this too? Did someone summon this game through dark magic? A journal???

Find out on the next episode of YOU GON' HAVE TO READ AND FIND OUT! 😅

This book had me gasping, and shaking my head. Whew, chile this was a wild one! This was my first read by author, and it most certainly won't be my last!

🔘 I also want to add this is super fast paced, and yes you will need to highlight your life away and take notes. You are introduced to a lot of characters. And this book can bounce around a bit. But, the back stories bring this book together at the end.

This was my first read of 2025 and it was a short read but I read it slowly over the holidays so some things I forgot.
Originally, I loved it right after I finished reading it but then I stopped to process it all and some things didn’t add up. Maybe it was misdirection or maybe it’s a plot hole? I’m not sure since horror sometimes isn’t logical?
However, this storyline needed to be longer and better flushed out. The beginning just didn’t add up to the ending for me but maybe it was me.
It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat though. I was thoroughly entertained and I’ll probably read more by the author.

It started off really good and entertaining. Then the end just got confusing and didn't make any sense. Too many unanswered things and plot holes. Someone said it reminds them of a low budget tubi movie and I agree. I can see the author wanted to throw us off our game and make multiple twists, which is fine, but it just was not done right at all. It should of been longer than all the twists could have came together better. Also alot of errors, had to reread parts a few times. I'll give 1 more of her books a try.

Everybody

They were all friends from elementary through all through school years. Some of them, but I just don't understand who would want half of them dead. If they really didn't speak or mess with each other like that. Even though inside the circle, some of them daylight, you know, have sexual intercourse with each other. I just did under. I just couldn't get under my skin tounds. Good, but I gave this a 5 star.

So many unanswered ?s

I liked the concept but it left too much unanswered. I have so much I need to know and I know it may never be answered and that's frustrating, but I still enjoyed the book.

Twists after twists

This book had many twists, and I assumed I knew who was behind everything, but I was wrong. The characters had so many secrets, making this a drama-filled ride.

If you are a fan of the movie the Blackening then you will love this book. Shit if you have ever seen a trailer for it, then you will get the vibe of this story.

This quick read features several POVS from a group of classmates who are coming together for a game night as part of their high school reunion.

Our main FMC was the weird girl who had a mental break at the age of 15 and is haunted by a Slenderman type figure. Her classmates see the game night as an opportunity to antagonize her. However, things do not go as planned and Game Night becomes a deadly game where only one person will be left standing.

I enjoyed this story very much. It was nice trying to figure out who dun it and who will survive. This has graphic violence but it's also funny and messy as several ppl are fking or in love with another person's partner.

Highly recommend any and all by Linette King. Especially this one.
