Cavernum has fallen. Led by the Holy One, feeders have ravaged the city, feasting on every soul they can sink their teeth in. The only survivors are under siege, trapped behind the Palace Wall.
Queen Roselyn Malik bears the daunting responsibility of saving them all. To do so, she must kill her father, who proves more powerful than she ever imagined. With no other options, Rose must seek the Lost Library, hoping to claim its power first and use it to destroy her father's forces.
Hiding beneath the Core, Matt must come to terms with being a feeder. He's banished from the palace, unable to pass through the defensive spell. With the help of his newfound father, he must embark on a perilous journey—one that may hold the key to saving Cavernum.
Meanwhile, the Holy One is narrowing his search. It's only a matter of time before he finds the Lost Library and seizes for himself the very powers of godhood.
Amazing work again by Devin! The adamic books are worth a read if you're into the fantasy genre and I would say that this book series is one of the best that I've read in a while. Can't wait untill the last book is published!
Absolutely epic. My favorite book in the series so far due to the confrontations, and amazing battle scenes. I was hooked from the first page right up until the end. Now to wait for the insane conclusion to this trilogy!
"The Reviving: Part One" is a difficult on for me to rate. While the story is still interesting, it struggles with pacing. and focus on the progression of the main story line. While I enjoyed the story overall, the decision to break it into parts led to moments where the plot felt stalled. There were times I felt myself getting bored, and wishing the main plot would progress more. Overall I still liked the characters, but Kildron and Rose started to bother me. Kildron seemed to give up on his kids way too easily, and Rose, despite being queen, often let everyone push her around. I still want to continue reading the series, I just wish it had been one more consolidated book rather than break it into parts.
This series is wonderful, book 3 is no exception. The characters are likable and act realistically, the plot moves forward at a great pace, and you're never sure what's going to happen next. My actual rating is a 4.5, only docking half a star due to some light grammatical and spelling errors. I can't wait to read the next (and final) book in the series. I imagine I will be disappointed that there isn't any more once I finish it.
This book should be R-rated for language and sexual content. F bombs and many other obscenities are throughout the book. And there is nothing Christian about this story. In fact it claims Jesus is not the Messiah, but the brother of Satan. It is an atrocious story. I strongly recommend against reading these books.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all three books in this series. It took a little while for Devin Downing to complete the third book due his busy school schedule, but it was definitely worth the wait. I can't wait for the next book.
