After an ugly divorce, Dr. Aiden Matthews was only interested in one-night stands. The last thing he wanted was a girlfriend, despite his daughters urging him to start dating. And he certainly wasn’t going to ask out the spunky hippy chick they met on their hike, no matter how much his girls meddled. Sure, Dakota had been hot. And gorgeous. And hadn’t taken his crap—something he’d found oddly sexy. Lately it seemed everyone but his girls cowed to him the second he started to glower. But not her. And, he had to admit—begrudgingly, she’d made some solid points when they’d argued in the parking lot about… everything . Still. They had nothing in common. He was rain clouds, and she was sunshine. She dealt with people’s auras, and he dealt with their aortas. They were not the same. So why couldn’t he stop thinking about her? And what kind of cosmic shenanigans were at work when they ended up at the same Fourth of July party on Cape Cod, sleeping across the hall from one another? The kind that had them waking up next to each other without any clothes on. Fortunately, she wasn’t interested in anything but casual, either. But the more time they spend together, the more he realizes his heart could be in trouble—which is never a good thing, especially for a grumpy cardiologist.
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author, Tess Summers is a former business woman and teacher who always loved writing but never seemed to have time to sit down and write a short story, let alone a novel. Now battling MS, her life changed dramatically, and she has finally slowed down enough to start writing all the stories she'd been wanting to tell, including the fun and sexy ones! Married over twenty-five years with three grown children, Tess is a former dog foster mom who ended up failing and adopting them instead. She and her husband (and their six dogs) split their time between the desert of Arizona and the lakes of Michigan, so she's always in a climate that's not too hot and not too cold, but just right!
Once again, yet another hard to put down book by Tess (I seem to write that comment for all Tess’s books 🤣). I really enjoyed this read, and this one actually made me cry at part of it, rather than just tears in my eyes. That is pretty good going! This is part of a series. However, as usual, you can read it as a stand alone. It is really good reading about characters from previous books, but a slightly different viewpoint. However, although I have read all the previous books, I must say, now that the amount of previously read characters are growing, it has made me want to re-read them. This doesn’t happen to me often. The only downside, as with all Tess’s books, is my prudish nature gets really embarrassed with the sex scenes. But I just skim over them, without actually missing any of the story. Definitely recommended.
I really enjoyed WICKED GRUMPY HEART DOC because it showed an older couple with older children in a stage of their life where the intensity of love was surprising and refreshing. Aiden was a grump for everyone but Dakota and his daughters. Dakota was often infuriating, but her insights were unique. The spice in the book was very well done.
The couples from other books were referenced but didn’t interfere with the story for those that hadn’t read those books. There were a couple slow spots, but nothing that spoiled my enjoyment.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Talk about wishy washy! Dakota wanted it all but didn't want it. Ridiculous! She pushes him away and then decides one more time oh wait only on my terms for just a quicker and poof I can't let my family meet you. You are to much. I just don't want to cry in the meantime I'm crying all the time. How she had anything is beyond me. Honestly I wanted to smack her and tell her to wake up already. Sheeesh
As fans of this author, we know she always fills her new releases with fantastic characters and entertaining situations, and this is no exception. This is part of the Boston’s Elite series, that I recommend you read in order for the best experience, and to avoid spoilers.
We are back with the book boyfriends, Evan, James, Zach, Maverick and Aiden and the medical community of Boston General. Aiden is a well-respected (but grumpy) cardiologist who saves every heart but his own. A chance meeting with Dakota has him thinking twice about his decision to keep relationships casual.
Dakota's ability to read auras and her visions was really enjoyable, but I wanted to throttle her because of how she behaved with Aiden’s heart because of them. It was a pleasant surprise to encounter characters who were older and had already built stable and fulfilling lives in their respective careers. The chemistry and connection between this couple was electric and practically jumped off the pages! Ohh, soo steamy.
I recommend this author and this series (and honestly, all of her works). I can’t wait for the next one. I received this as a free ARC, and happily leave my review.
Dr. Aiden Matthews is one of the best cardiologists in the country. He is a divorced father of two teen girls. He's also known around the hospital as the grouchy doc and has made several nurses cry.
He and his girls go out for a hike and run into Barney, a pitbull who belongs to Dakota Douglas. He's ready to pepper spray the dog when the owner tells him he's harmless, he loves people. Dakota is a single mom and grandmother of a 3 yr old little boy. She owns her own massage therapy business.
They ran into each other again on the 4th of July at a friend's place on Cape Cod. They really don't have anything in common but there's a chemistry between them they can't ignore. Casual is what they decide but the more time they spend together feelings start to change. Dakota keeps having visions about them. Is she right or wrong?
4.5 stars I love seeing all the friends together again from Boston General and seeing what they are up to. I really enjoyed Dakota and Aiden's story.
This is the seventh book in the Boston's Elite Series, but can be read as a standalone. This is Dr Aiden Matthew's story, and it's one you won't be able to put down once you start reading. You'll love his and Dakota's story. They met when he was hiking with his two daughters and she was walking her dog. They were complete opposites as Dakota, was a little hippie and was into the 'universe' while he was conservative and grumpy. But there was some serious chemistry there. Amazing how the universe works and how it brought them together again at his friend's beach house. Both wanted casual only as they were guarding their hearts. But when casual becomes more, she messes everything up because she's scared. Some angst, broken hearts, a life-saving operation and drama. Eventually an HEA and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
Wicked Grumpy Heart Doc is part of the Boston’s Elite series.
This is the Grumpy /Sunshine story of Aiden and Dakota.
When they first meet Aiden keeps saying that they’re too different, but soon he thinks differently about that. And I have to say that he is anything but grumpy with his “hippy chick” Dakota, who he calls Sunshine, how appropriate. Dakota is a really great person, but I wished she wasn’t so doubtful and clung to her “vision” for the most part of the book. I loved both their families!
The whole story captivated me, but especially towards the end, because I knew something was going to happen and I wanted to know what! Speaking of building the tension….
I really like that each book in this series revolves around the same time / events, but from the different points of view of the main characters of each book.
Oh, but does Tess Summers know how to write romances with couples that absolutely destroy you while they destroy each other! Dakota and Aiden are so perfect for each other - they absolutely can’t keep their hands off each other, gooey eyes, giggling, the hole nine yards. Too bad they’ve both been burned before and are a little gunshot because of it. This story had a unique premise - since Dakota gets visions, she can sometimes foresee what’s to come in a relationship, and since she sees heartbreak in her future, she keeps Aiden at a distance. I also really loved how this book tied together with the other books in this series, from the 4th of July beach party and the fundraiser events to the wedding(s), we get to see the whole Boston General crew again and again. I loved this story, even as it broke my heart, and I’m loving this series.
WGHDoc by T. Summers is a witty and fun tame the untamable story. Aiden Matthews is a divorced single dad, acclaimed surgeon and after a bad breakup he has sworn off relationships. Dakota is a successful massage business owner, kinda hippie, never was married, is now at age 39 a grandma of a 3 year old. Their ways cross and while both are very reluctant, karm has a way throwing them together again and again. But both are through a lot, have the scars to prove it. While carnal relations are very easy for both, a deep connection, no thank you mam and sir. I liked the story and the characters, while there are lots and lots of lets call them physical encounters, the real connection between A and D is lacking. All in all a good read, 4 stars.
Another amazing romance read by Summers! This is book 7 in the Boston's Elite series and can be read as a standalone. I adored these characters and the storyline and well....just everything! Main characters are Dr Aiden Matthews and Dakota. These two are complete opposites but both have deep scars from their pasts. Dr Aiden Matthews is a top cardiac Dr's in the country and lets just say he's lost his bedside manor - he crosses paths with hippy-ish Dakota and somehow, they keep crossing paths. Her sunshine can't help but break thru his stormy demeanor but is this just another notch on the bedpost or is their mutual chemistry the real deal?

After a horrific divorce the last thin Aiden was looking for was entering into another relationship but when a dog runs up to his daughters ready to pounce one look at its owner gave him pause. Dakota was unlike the women Aiden normally saw. She was down to earth and there was something about her that drew her to him. When a weekend with his friends had them reconnecting it started them along a path. Dakota was hurt once as was Aiden, but she is determined never to find herself in that place again. Will she and Aiden be able to leave their past behind for a chance to have happiness again. This story had me in their corner cheering them on to get there.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story of the doctor and his hippy. Funny how Aiden had so many assumptions about Dakota but I liked how he was open to finding out more about her. They had so much fun together, were so easy in each others’ company. There attraction was instant and watching their growing friendship was wonderful. There’s a bit of angst—it sits there through most of the book, leaving their good times feel bittersweet. But the Universe knows it’s doing! As a casual reader of this series, there’s a lot of characters & couples that I’m not really familiar with. The author did a good job of describing them but I still found it hard to keep track. Won’t stop me from reading future books in this series.
Aiden is a cardiologist and a grump. He means, nonsense and has been known to make nurse cry. He’s also a single dad of two. Dakota is sunshine and light, she’s happy, carefree and a little hippy. She’s a mom and a young grandmother. She’s a massage therapist. These two meet when Aiden runs it to her dog (a pit bull) and is about to pepper spray the dog. Then these two run into each other again at a friends house. Although they don’t think they are necessarily right for each other they agree to be casual friends and see where it goes. Can a straight laced man fall in love with a woman talking about auras and visions?
This is the first book from this series that I have read and I loved Aiden and Dakota, they had such chemistry and connection. I thought they went so well together and complimented each other too. There was so much that had me smiling in this story but there were also moments that made me want to shake them because of their thoughts and actions. I enjoyed reading about them, their family and friends and could have continued to read about them for longer.

This book is part of the Bostons elite series and is a standalone. I must admit that I like the grumpy/ sunshine trope and this sure hit the mark for me. Aiden, is a successful doctor with two daughters and Dakota is a massage therapist who is also a single mother. They meet at a friends house and there is undeniable chemistry between the two. They both have emotional scars. I so enjoyed it as it was the perfect mix of steam, grumpiness and it had more of an older couple type vibe for me. I received an ARC copy.
Aiden is still sore after a bitter divorce and adamant that he would only have one night stands. His meeting with Dakota is as unexpected and unconventional as the beautiful young woman herself.
When they meet again and he discovers that she doesn't want a relationship suddenly he finds that in fact he does.
A wonderful grumpy sunshine romance where initially Adrian is running scared and then desperately trying to persuade Dakota to give him a real chance.

Aiden is a successful Cardiologist who has gone through a bitter divorce and is very jaded. Dakota is an owner of a couple massage therapy business. Aiden and Dakota meet by chance while on a hike and meet again on a weekend trip with friends. Sparks fly but both are gun shy. However, when Aiden is willing to continue seeing each other Dakota balks. I loved Aiden in this book, but Dakota got on my nerves with her vision of heartbreak. I wish she had been more mature in regards to her visions. Overall, I did enjoy reading this book and cannot wait for the next installment.
Wicked Grumpy Heart Doc is the seventh book in the Boston's Elite series. This story is about two people who fall for each other instantly but are both not sure about getting involved. But Dakota and Aiden make a great couple and things will not end so easily between them, no matter how much they might each question things. This is a great addition to the series and a fantastic read. I found myself engulfed by the story and the characters, they feel deeply and you can feel it coming off the pages.
Dakota and Adrian’s love story is quite the read. He’s a top heart surgeon and she’s the hippy owner of massage and yoga studios. They are complete opposites. Both have suffered heartbreak and don’t want a committed relationship till they do. How this all works out is a great read, with lots of ups and downs as they try and sort their lives out. A really great addition in this series.

+++stars Oh SOOOO Perfect! All I can say is this story has it all. GREAT couple in Aiden and Dakota, GREAT interesting close-knit families and friends! An AWESOME STORY filled with such a warm wonderful romance, some premonitions, and off-the-charts hanky-panky. Aiden is a little kinky and Dakota loves it. ALL you romance junkies like me will be swooning over this story. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and this is my opinion. Linda
A heart doctor and a woman who is part hippy! I loved these two, even though he's a grump and she's sunshine! Well, for the most part! LOL Aiden doesn't want another relationship and is happy just "hooking up"! His daughters want him to find someone but he keeps resisting until he meets Dakota. What follows is a story that is steamy and funny and just a good read! Can these two make it together or will it just be another one night stand?
This is a well written opposites attract romance with a cast of strong characters centering on Aiden and Dakota. The author does a great job developing the story and building the relationship and chemistry. She moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and delivers an entertaining story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Aidan is one of the best cardiologist in the country, but he is a divorced dad of 2 teenagers with his money hungry ex. So when he meets Dakota who will not run crying or agreeing with whatever he says (like everyoneelse except his daughters), he's not sure what to make of her. A really really really good book that you should definitely read.

This is the story of Dakota and Aiden. I enjoyed how these two totally opposite people come together. They have nothing in common except an attraction they can't ignore. This is an entertaining, sweet romance with endearing characters and plenty of sizzle. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Dr Aiden isn't interested in relationships after his divorce. Meeting hippychick, Dakota, opens up his world and his heart. She is his sunshine. Steamy, great characters and as always I'm swept away into their world. Fab!.

I believe this was the first story by Ms. Summers that I've read (but I could be wrong) and it's the first in the Boston's Elite series I've come across. I usually don't read a lot of medical romances but this story was really good.
