The stories are simple, good, and full of useful vocabulary. Very easy to understand with just basic/beginner Japanese and great practice for reading and comprehension. The short quizzes at the end of each story are a nice touch that reminded me of studying a second language as a little kid. It might sound childish, but that really works in helping you focus on what you're reading and see if you've truly understood what you read. I'm not a fan of the formatting and way they're presented, but that's more of a stylistic detail than anything that would affect the usefulness or understanding of the content.
Mandatory note: I got a review copy in exchange for an honest opinion.
Just like the first book, it was very helpful in terms of learning a language through context. I like that there were repeat Japanese words that I didn't know, even in the later stories. I think this book is used best when reading blindly, learning the words, and then reading the stories again. I read each story at least two to three times.
Japanese Language Park is onto something really great here.
I'm a big fan of this series. The short stories in Japanese, using basic grammar and vocabulary are a great way for Japanese learners to read "real stories" and to feel they are improving. The questions at the end of each story help to check whether you have understood and the stories, while quite simple, do teach about the Japanese culture.
دومین کتابی بود که به ژاپنی خوندم. واسه سطح من خوب بود. نسبت به کتاب قبلی از همین سری، تعداد کلمات جدیدش نصف شد و تقریبا هم نصف اون تایم طول کشید تا تمومش کنم. این یعنی پیشرفت :) باید کلی از این کتابای سطح بندی شده و تمرینی بخونم تا بتونم یه روز کتاب های ژاپنی عادی رو راحت بخونم. اون روز، یکی از آرزوهام عملی شده
Delightful reading, for someone who isn’t fluent in japanese (but tries hard to! :-D). Great simple stories, great resources for learning and reviewing.. Absolutely the best! thanks for that!
