This feels very much like the author went on a really nice Mexican vacation she wanted to write about then kind of haphazardly threw a couple mysteries in to pad it out
After being stood up at the altar, Harley Harper moves to west to Stoneybrook, Oregon and buys a ranch. But soon a dead body is found in one of her barns and a wild fire threatens her ranch and the surrounding areas. At the same time her ex fiancé finds her and wants her back. This story had me hooked from the very first page. The action doesn't stop and kept me guessing until the very end. When I finished the book, I breezed on into the next book and the next until I finished the whole series. The characters are well developed and had me wanting to spend more time with them. I recommend this series to anyone loves a thrilling read.
Kimila Kay has become one of my favorite authors after just one book! I have now read books 2 & 3, both of which were novellas. Loving the series so far!
