Misty-Rain is deported to the world of her birth, and Sirius, the rich Prince of the Land of the Unicorns, tries to go to the world of humans to find her. Concerned for her charge, Nanny hatches a plot that causes the young prince to lose all of his memories of Misty-Rain. With only a fox-witch as companion in this strange new world, Misty-Rain gets into a car accident, and almost dies. Fortunately, she is given new life by the power of the "Tae-guek" spirit bestowed by the Great King of Darkness. Two years pass and Misty-Rain, a normal eighth-grader at Yulha Middle School, is now living with a human family. She has been placed under the charge of two brothers, one of whom is a handsome but obnoxious athlete, whose wicked personality has left him with no friends. As she lives out her new life, Misty Rain seems to have all but forgotten the magical land where she was raised. Prince Sirius, however, is gradually snapping out of Nanny's spell and is slowly remembering?
I liked volume 2 of this manhwa series a lot more than volume 1, but I was surprised to find half of it takes place in modern-day Japan. So this is an urban fantasy series, rather than a high fantasy series. It still had a lot of silly moments but I'm more used to the comedy by now. The art is gorgeous. The story is progressing in some unexpected ways. It's pretty neat. I don't love it but it's keeping my interest.
I didn’t remember how annoying the step brother character was. I remember him being a twat but not just how awful. Misty rain gets kicked out of the land of the Dokebi and sent back to the land of humans. We learn that the lord of darkness was once married to a human and this explains why he looked after Misty Rain before. Prince Sirius tries to stop Misty Rain from leaving and sends his witch fox companion with her by accident. Sirius’ nanny wipes his memory and he forgets about them. Misty rain is stuck in the human world and gets hit by a car, dying. As the lord of darkness gave her some protection one time she lives. For the next two years Sirius is sad and doesn’t know why. Thornpricker starts to try and make moves of Prince Sirius. He manages to remember Misty rain and heads off to the human world. Misty rains adoptive dad sends her to live with his sons who he hasn’t told about her and she joins school. She and her ‘brother’ absolutely hate each other.
