Dave's life turned upside down the day his dad passed away. He's not sure how to move forward, until he inherits an antique hand mirror with a mysterious inscription. When the mirror begins to glow and a woman speaks to Dave through the glass, he finds himself transported to sixth-century England. Thrust into a world full of danger and dragons, Dave will need to rearrange everything he thought he knew about life in general, but more specifically, he'll have to admit he didn't know his dad as well as he thought he did.Join Dave as he is tested by the Lady of the Lake, comes face to face with a shapeshifting Lancelot, and races to rescue the world's most famous wizard, Merlyn. The Mirror Through Time series is a post-Arthurian story with a spin on beloved characters like Arthur, Merlin and other knights of the Round Table. Mirror Through The Reflection Within is the first book in the series. This book does not end on a cliffhanger, but you will want to read the entire series to complete the overarching story.
An epic retelling of Arthurian legends with a fancy twist to the plot. It has everything you look for in a good book: an immersive world, captivating character back stories, and of course a mini dragon sidekick! I was happy to find that this storyline was not just a repeat of the same old stories we hear, but included many twists and turns. Overall, a great book- I definitely recommend to any fantasy or magic lovers!
A lighthearted adventure with some grisly bits about the Legend of King Arthur reimagined. Arthur’s son, Dave, has grown up believing a lie: that his father is only super-awesome in rather mundane ways, when in fact, he is none other than the King of Camelot. The genderbent Merlyn takes Dave under her wing to teach him how to suppress the growing threat of her power-hungry sister. "Mirror Through Time” is good fantasy escapism for the nine-and-above crowd. I wish the MC had a few more faults to him, but at least Merlyn has some amusing bits where she does deceit for what she thinks is the greater good.
