It feels so good to be back with the Masons! Oh, how I’ve missed my favorite literary family. Choyce has allowed her fear of loneliness to keep her in a relationship she should’ve dipped out of nine years earlier. Having lost her entire family in a car accident, Choyce has no one else so she holds on to this toxic relationship like it’s a lifeline. Ramir has spent the last ten years obliterating her self-esteem and self-worth until Choyce honestly thought no one else would ever want her. Ramir is a textbook narcissist. He never misses an opportunity to disrespect, to embarrass, to belittle, to degrade, to be hateful, to be hurtful, or to just be out right mean to Choyce. He gets off on being cruel and using her trauma against her. Choyce finally found her backbone when she decided to purchase a house of her own. She’s excited for move in day but, being the true narcissist he is, Ramir finds a way to ruin it for her. Simeon is posted up at Grandma Lavern’s with the rest of the Mason crew when hears a disagreement from across the street. He goes over to find the new neighbor crying in the back of her moving van. When Choyce explains her situation, Simeon and the cousins immediately jump into action. Mason crew to the rescue! And, just like that, Choyce has found the family she’s been longing for. We say this a lot in our reviews (especially me) but, Simeon really was everything Choyce didn’t know she needed. He gave her what she was missing and lacking in her “relationship” with Ramir. With Simeon, Choyce was able to move past the trauma she’d been holding onto for the last 17 years. She found a mother figure in Ms. Susie, she found a father figure in Simeon Sr., she found a best friend in Taylor, and she got honorary siblings with the rest of the Mason crew. They gave her the unconditional love and acceptance she’s been longing for, and I loved that for her. It was such a joy watching Choyce finally find her worth and fall in love with Old Man Sim. If anyone deserved a HEA, it was definitely her. I such had a fun time reading The Sweetest Thing I’ve Known. This book was nothing but a chuckle fest from start to finish but, that’s right on par for AshleyNicole. A good time is always had with the Masons, and I cannot wait until the next book.

LOVE A Good Mason Story

….Gotta love a good Mason Story…Choyce and Simeon made for a really good story….I love how well those Mason men take care of their women….I can’t wait to see the man that tames the Mason Princess Taylor…That’s really going to be a really good story.

3rd read

The newly released audiobook….love the story….The female narrator is terrible, but the male narrator is nice🫤

Super cute and sweet! Love me a soft romance!

This story was soooooooo sweet 🥰Simeon was everything!! He was exactly what Choyce needed after tragically losing her family and wasting 10 years on a trash ex. I love a soft romance! There is something about a black woman being loved and doted on by a black man that melts my heart every time.

The Mason family was incredible! It made my heart so full to read about a family as strong and as close them. They love eachother hard and I was here for it! I loooved how they welcomed Choyce with open arms. This was my first book about the Mason family and I’ll have to go back and read the others.

Simeon and Choyce were adorably cute together with great chemistry. I enjoyed the development of their relationship. I will say that Choyce irritated me a bit at times by bringing up her ex, Ramir, but I had to remind myself that she had to heal from the trauma from that relationship. Simeon was super understanding and respected her need to heal. 😩

Not gonna lie, I did find Choyce a bit boring at times. I wish she would have had a bit more personality. It was easy to see how she fell in love with Simeon, but it was hard to see what Simeon loved so much about her. Simeon was perfection from start to finish. That’s my bae! 🔥😮‍💨

AshleyNicole has once again done it. I really enjoyed this story. It was a low angst, soft romance that makes you swoon.

A great Choyce for Simeon

From the first page to the last page, Simeon showed us why we love our Masons. They are a fictional family that we actually think of as a real family. Simeon started his venture as a Superhero in my book. When Choyce's sleazy guy treated her badly on moving day, Ramir became the villain in this story, and he proved he was replaceable. Simeon and the cousins filled the void with no cracks or open spaces. It was so nice to see this man love Choyce up close and very personally. The spades dethrone was epic. I love the way Grandma takes her game seriously. The story overall, was so amazing.

Choyce x Simeon

Perfect. That's what this story was. I was hooked from the very first page until the story ended. AshleyNicole knows exactly how to captivate her readers cause I didn't want to stop reading.
The first question I have is in what dumpster, hot trash, garbage did Choyce find Ramir? Cause that niģğå SUCKED.

In the middle of moving, Choyce met Simeon. It was so organic and plain cute.
Choyce was low-key getting on my nerves when it came to Ramir and the constant comparison to Simeon. Simeon never ceases to show how treasured and worthy and appreciated she was.
But the more I got to know her, the more I understood Choyce.
Simeon was just swoon. The way he and his family welcomed Choyce was enough to make a girl get teary-eyed. I love how well they meshed and unproblematic their love was. It just kinda shows you that love doesn't have to be complicated or complex at all.
I just love those giant Mason's. I love knowing what some of my faves are up to. And this wouldn't be an AshleyNicole book if there weren't some lol moments.
AshleyNicole is truly one of the best to ever do it. Her catalog is 🔥. Get into it.

Seeing an AshleyNicole book is an automatic download. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I learned this read was a Mason Family Exclusive! Love this family, how could you not? ❤️

My heart broke for Choyce dealing with that nothing ass man, just so she wouldn't be alone. 💔 But for what, when you are lonely whether he is there or not? His mistreatment of her, the way he played on her trauma, and made her feel insecure about her family situation was cruel! Wanted to lay hands on him real bad! Ughhh...... especially after that moving day stunt!

Old man Sim, Simeon! How was he still single? This man was pure perfection to me! 🤩 When he sees and hears a man talking down to his girl, then leaving her in a bad situation, he knows just what to do. Simeon jumps right in to help Choyce get things squared away, and she grabs his attention as well. They both are attracted to one another, but he knows she has a dude, so is respectful for now. As fine as he is, I can't start anything new with all this baggage right?

Simeon and Choyce fall into an easy friendship and is snatched up by the Mason clan. When they like you, they play for keeps. Choyce cannot believe her luck, that she has found a great family situation to help ease her loneliness. But that damn Ramik and his taunts, hold Choyce hostage. She knows that Simeon is a good man, but the doubts occasionally cloud her mind, and cause her to act out. Simeon was as patient as they come. He allowed Choyce time to reconcile her feelings, freedom to talk things out with him when needed, and gave her grace when she faltered.

These two were so good together, and I rooted for them the entire read. Cannot wait for more Mason family love and fun, as babies come into the mix. Great job!

Old Man Sim gets his girl

At this point I need a Mason. These men are the most caring, gentle, understanding, and nasty (in a good way) people for their one. I mean the perfect combination.

By 30% I knew I was in love with Simeon lol. He hadn't even done much, but the BDE was rolling off this man loud and clear😫😫. From the day he met Choyce, he handled her carefully. Ensuring with every step that she wasn't alone. He took his time getting to know her, but made sure she knew he was interested...that she felt wanted. The mentions of her trash azz ex got on my nerves, but if you spend 10 yrs with someone you are bound to have some residual damage. Her ex truly treated her like a side chick and that is the only thing I felt like wasn't quite resolved, but he was a non factor and didn't keep me from loving the story. The Mason's didn't hesitate to open their arms to any woman brought into their fold. Choyce, living across the street from Grandma Laverne Renee was that much sweeter. I loved the relationship Choyce built with the family. They hung out at her house often, and she got to make use of that big house and it seemed to be so good for her soul after all the loss she had experienced❤️. The way Simeon's mom and dad accepted her seamlessly was just beautiful 😭. Those two were handsy, lovey dovey, and filled with so much love and I loved it. They were a great example for their boys, and they all treated their women like Queens so clearly they did a great job. I loved the banter between the brothers lol. They were in rare form and it was nice to see their relationships going strong.
Initially I thought Choyce and her hangups over the previous relationship were going to be an issue, but the way Simeon affirmed her and committed to working through it together I mean swoooooon😫❤️. I would be remiss to close out without mentioning all the dk this man was dropping off. Good Lawd Old Man Sim was working with a monster and he liked to use it often and I loved that for Choyce, she definitely deserved it. Old man Sim was content, but now he was overwhelmingly happy at getting his one and he deserved it too. Enjoyed this story!

Listen this ending.....The family was growing and I was in shock at the rate it was. Just beautiful. I hope we get a Taylor story, our girl deserves some love.

Sweet& Loving .

This is everything I didn’t know , I needed but did . I love a good romance story when the ex fumble the girl & she meet the person who deserve every bit of her & treat her like the queen she is . Even though choyce struggle with knowing her worth and know she deserve every bit of happiness . Long term relationship that’s not worth a thang does that to you. I was so glad when she allowed her self to let go and just live . This was really a great read mixed with grief , trauma and every bit of love . I love how Simeon healed and loved on choyce he was just a good behind man ! & the mason blood line I love the big family dynamic and how close they are all the cousin and Uncle , aunties it was really amazing to read .

Simeon Parents Simeon Sr & Susie they way the loved one another the true definition of a love story , healthy . & you can see why the kids wanted the love just like they had or even more .If you in the mood for something sweet & cute this is definitely a read for you. Ashley didn’t disappoint. I keep looking a thang dang family tree . I love how she started off with that in the beginning so you would understand . Add it!

The Sweetest Thing

Simeon is God's Gift to Choyce. In a way, it seemed like kismet for Choyce to have had to deal with such a scum bucket like Ramir so she qoyld recognize her Happily ever after and appreciate him when he did show up.
I loved catching up with the Masons and seeing how they are doing in life. This story was very sweet, funny, heartfelt, spicy and relatable.
I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
I wanted Choyce to stop bringing up Ramir, but I was glad that SHE recognized that Sineon deserved better and her comparisons were a problem.
Very good story and I highly recommend.
There are a literal ton of Mason stories but you can just jump in wherever, I did. They're told in such a way that you won't be too co fused by not knowing who is who...I know most of them and still get confused. But not enough to detract from the story.

The Sweetest Thing I’ve Known

Just so good. The banter between Simeon and Choyce as well as between the Masons was funny, heartwarming and just amazing. I love the feel of love and unity throughout. Choyce had been alone and even more so with Ramir but when she moved all of that changed. I was cheering and swooning for Choyce. Her and Simeon relationship was a beauty, the communication between was ahhh! A BEAUTY. I could read about them all day.

Chance has been stuff in a loveless relationship for 10 years and now that she is free she is finally ready to deal with the loneliness losing her family left behind. She didn't expect Simeon to come along and show her what love is and she definitely didn't expect him to come with an enormous family to help fill the void she's had for over 10 years.

This was such a guest read. Simeon was laid back and patient just what Choyce needed after the trauma she faced. Like everyone else I love the Mason
family. There is hardly ever any drama but always lots of fun and Choyce fit right on in. I thought for sure grandma Vern was going to give Choyce a hard time after being dethroned. Of course the Masons came with plenty of laughter and classic AshleyNicole had me shedding a tear or two as well. Choyce started to get on my nerves with all the comparing her ex to Simeon, I wanted to scream girl let him go but I guess after 10 years of trauma there was bound to be some damage left behind. I loved how Simeon’s mother was the one to give her advice. I am never disappointed with an AshleyNicole read and I especially love getting more of the Mason's.

I absolutely love this captivating, laugh out loud story!

The Mason family, with the 30 first cousins, is absolutely hysterical! They're all about love, encouragement, unity and sharing delicious family dinners!

In addition, they were right there with Simeon, to rescue Choyce from Ramir, her sleazy ex-boyfriend. What a selfish and self-serving creep! Choyce was all alone in the world and he took full advantage of it.

Now Simeon, he recognized a queen when he met one. And he was prepared to make Choyce happy. Unfortunately, Choyce made him pay for Ramir's sins.

I was put off by Choyce mentioning her ex every step of the way. I mean, she even mentions him in the epilogue. Ugh! We want that man dead and gone!
I loved me some Simeon. He loved sis, and baby girl deserved all that loving. This was a very sweet read.

I'm off to start book one of the series since I started at the bottom.

It was good ⭐️⭐️⭐️ *Spoiler Alert*

It would’ve been five stars had not she spent majority of the book thinking about Ramir! I assumed she needed a therapist after a while seriously because it was too intense. She kept letting him in the house for one *side eye * like why you keep letting him in??? Then she put her own man out because she thought it was her ex! Too much of the book was spent on her ex that the proposal was even for his sake! Something that was meant to be beautiful was for Ramirs sake! Yeah good read but it could’ve been better!

This book is about my family lol so I knew I'd enjoy it. It was not a top from the series unfortunately. This was a sweet book & I appreciate going on the journey with Choyce. I just wish it was a tad more about Sim. Of course some of the other Masons made an appearance & were hilarious as always, especially Myair. Reading her ex boyfriend's name repeatedly was annoying me. I will continue reading all of these as they come out.

AshleyNicole be in her BAG when she writes a Mason novel!

I took my sweet, precious TIME reading this story because I knew it was going to be good and I didn't want it to end too soon. I've been waiting patiently for Simeon's story and man, did AshleyNicole deliver! It was worth the wait! The oldest Mason cousin, Simeon, was known to have BDE and he lived up to the hype! In addition to that, he was naturally so loving and sweet that I found myself saying 'awww' many times while reading. But that's the Masons for you. Genuinely good people.

Choyce had already gone through a tragic ordeal and that ex of hers used it against her and crushed her self-esteem for ten years. N___s gon N_g, you hear me? Enter Simeon II and the Mason clan, and just like that, her world turned around for the better. Baby, I was here for Simeon walking down those steps and making his presence known in the living room when Ramir decided to visit Choyce on her birthday. Then, to add to it, he informed Ramir that there were four other men on the porch ready to swing on him. I yelled, 'THAT'S WHAT TF I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!' I'm sure he was more than happy to exit the porch safely and get in his car. Yeah, get the hell on somewhere Ramir.

The epilogue wrapped this story up in the most beautiful bow. Something I definitely wasn't expecting but was cheesing so hard my cheeks began to hurt. Well, I expected it from Choyce but not everyone else. That was the best birthday present they could've given their Grandmother.

Awww, I'm ready for another Mason novel. Hopefully, Sherrod's story will come one day soon, but I will continue to wait patiently.

4.5⭐!

Love is patient and it is kind and it is everything Old Man Simeon gave to Choyce! 🥹❤️ This was the sweetest love! Choice was in a 10-year (one-sided) relationship with Ramir and all he did was disappoint and let her down. Ramirez took advantage of the fact that she had no one and even tried to ruin her big day to move into her new home! A home that happens to be across the street from Grandma Lavern's house! Simeon overhears Choyce crying after Ramir refuses to help her unload the truck after not giving him a key. Within minutes Simeon had the cousin clan unloading the truck and setting up the furniture. This is only the start of their romance! These two love was so sweet and fun! Once Chyoce can let go of the trauma from her past she’s able to enjoy the best relationship she's ever had! See the Mason crew was so fun and that epilogue had me smiling so big!! The spades table will never be the same and I'll leave it at that lmao! I can't wait for what's next in this Mason series!

Choyce needed therapy not dick 😫😫😫

Lovely love story but Choyce is an idiot - I’m sorry there is no other easy way to say it. But the way she let Ramir waste so much of her time was criminal - it wasn’t even a relationship it was a one sided situationship that only HE benefited from and the fact that she kept on lamenting on what he wouldn’t do as compared to Simeon really had me hot and side eyeing her. Like don’t get me wrong I get why she stayed but a person should only have a handful of times to let you down for you to keep on letting them in - the amount of things that she allowed herself to put up with had me just like come again?? So no lie, every time she would bring him up- I’d just skip it bc what do you meannnnnnnn 🤨😐

But I’m glad he disappointed her one last time and into the arms of a Mason bc their banter was toooo funny (like with most of the Mason’s lol) !!!

But truly in all seriousness she really did need some therapy - like the loss of her family, potential guilt of her parents leaving when they did, her extended family trying to scam her, Ramir - like mama went through a lot and really needed someone to help her work through that so that she won’t be continuously triggered.

And even with all that, I truly did enjoy this story overall.

Old Man Sim

I loved this book from beginning to end. Choyce and Simeon were so cute together and I loved their banter. I loved how Simeon brought her into the fold that is the Mason family and how everyone embraced her from the beginning. Simeon showed Choyce what it was like to be loved unconditionally and to have someone who wanted and needed to be around you just as much as you wanted to be around them. I hated Ramir and I wished Choyce would have stopped comparing the two but I also understand why it was hard for her to do so after being with that deadbeat for so long, but Simeon Mason II came through and gave her new memories and positive vibes and feelings to look forward to so that she could erase the bs she went through previously.

I love the Mason family and they keep me laughing at every turn. It is always good to catch up with them and I’m hoping the remaining cousins speak to Ms. AshleyNicole so we can see them again so. I highly recommend this entire series because this family is the bomb and the cousins all scream BDE.

The Masons

Simeon Mason, what a man. Choyce spent the last ten years with a man that was a walking red flag. He dismissed her and put her down every chance he could, but with none in her corner - she took everything he gave. Then she moved in across from Simeon's grandmother and her life changed instantly. Choyce carried a lot of baggage from her previous relationship, but with every trigger...Simeon proved to her she was worthy of love. These Masons loved hard and they welcomed Choyce into their fold instantly. It's just so many of them! I desperately need to start the beginning of this series because I love this family.

My Favorite Family

Choyce and her depressing backstory were a lot to take in. The drama with her ex was so over the top. Simeon saved the book for me. He was so lovable. Which I should’ve expected because he’s a Mason. I love all of them. I enjoyed getting more of their story. There were so many funny moments with Simeon as well as his family. That really enhanced the storyline. It’s rare for me to like a book when I can’t connect with the leading lady. This book was an exception. The Mason Family never fails to make me swoon.

This is the first book I’ve read about the Mason family, and all I can really say is, “I want a Mason.” 😂

Choyce and Simeon were really cute, and I enjoyed reading about the Mason family dynamic. Even though AshleyNicole put a family tree at the beginning of the book, I still got confused when a cousin’s (or their significant other’s) name was mentioned lol. But that was my fault. I was determined to know who was who without going back to the family tree.

The only critique I have of this book is that Choyce didn’t have friends before meeting Simeon’s family. AshleyNicole mentioned the reason for this, but I just don’t care to see characters’ lives so wrapped up in their significant other’s life.

I thought Ramir would’ve been more of a nuisance (physically) because he was so arrogant and entitled, but he was chilling for the most part. He’d already gotten into Choyce’s mind and that was enough. Choyce compared Simeon to Ramir so much that I thought Simeon was going to break up with us (lol). Simeon stuck around though.

I really enjoyed this book, and laughed so much while reading it. I can’t wait to read more about the Mason family.

All time sweetness. Choyce? Baby, ten whole years for what? AshleyNicole just gets it done with that pen work, so much detail, so much healing and character growth, in such a short story, you can't even complain and want more because it just feels complete and full but the characters live on.

CUTE!

Loved that Old Man Sim finally got his HEA. I also loved that Choyce beat Grandma Vern; that solidified her spot. For a minute I thought we weren't going to see that get back at her ex, but it finally came and it was perfect. Loved, loved seeing my favorite couple Rook and Zenaida, please give them another book where they have a daughter.

I can't wait for the Mason babies, but the count was wrong. There will be 9 babies not 11 - six Masons are having kids (6 babies), Mirror is having twins (+ 1), Lee is having triplets (+2) = 9. Where did 12 come from?

Please let Taylor's book be next. Her guy has to be extra special.
