USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
Holiday Girl is a 6-part daily serial following Comfort Ann Joy over 6 months July through December with a part of the story each day. Comfort (Comfy) is an intern for a clothing designer in NYC when her Aunt Justine suddenly dies. Comfy returns to Somewhere, GA for the funeral. Aunt Justine left Comfort her Christmas Shop and the building it is in with an apartment. The shop is losing money and Comfy thinks her aunt was poisoned. She stays to turn the shop around to sell and figure out what happened to her aunt. Justin (name is too close to Justine) is the Sheriff in town and they have a connection but don't want to act on it because Comfy is leaving. There are only a few suspects in Justine's murder and are all locals. Several characters from the Body Movers series appear periodically which makes it fun! Comfy's mother lives nearby and starts out not very likeable but is a little better by the end. The end is predictable but nice altjough maybe a little rushed. Very enjoyable daily serial and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. #HolidayGirl
This is part 6 of 6 part daily serial, part one is December, and it’s the last book to the daily serial.
Loving the concept of this daily serial, “In the romantic mystery HOLIDAY GIRL, a city woman inherits a Christmas-year-round shop in a small southern town from an eccentric aunt. The wrinkle? She doesn't even LIKE the holidays! But as she's drawn into the lives of the shop's quirky customers, she begins to realize that southern men have a certain charm... and begins to suspect her aunt might not have died from natural causes!”
Well what a perfect ending, everything came together. Was highly enjoyable. I was a little sad for it all to come to an end as wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the characters.
This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 6 of 6
Comfort discovers the killer when Troy and her are attacked in the Christmas Shop🎄. But the town is in trouble with stores not having enough money. Comfort takes a plan to city council which they adapt. Comfort kisses Justin on New Year🎉 Eve and announced she is staying.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic relationships adventures novels. 2024 🎄👒😘🤔
Fun book. Good characters. Interesting mother - daughter strained dynamics. Kept me guessing with a whole-done-it plot. Knew Comfort would stay in Somewhere and get her man Justin but would have liked an ending that included Comfort telling Ethan she was staying and her former boss to take a hike! Comfort finding out Nolan was her father was a good twist. Interesting supporting characters too. I’ve read Escort Girl, Elevator Girl and now Holiday Girl. I’ll keep reading Stephanie’s “Girl” books. You should too!😁
If you have read any of Stephanie Bond's monthly serials in the past...Holiday Girl is just as mysterious, all engulfing and has exciting cliffhangers at the end of each month. Part 6 answers all those questions and wraps up the series in a wonderful exciting way!! I enjoyed every sentence in these books and the ending is absolutely the best!!! A definite MUST read!!!!!
I’m old,I’m a guy, I’m not supposed to like these Romance Comedies. But I do. The heroes are always positive and growing, the story has a mix of fun characters and the mystery unfolds slowly to keep me guessing. I also like that it takes more than two pages of story before couples start jumping in bed. Thank you for writing this series.
Another great read from Stephanie Bond. In part 6, she truly had me on the edge of my seat. It’s over and I’m sad because I truly wanted to see where the story can go from here. It would be great to have another part to this. Stephanie Bond, you are a wonderful author, thank you for writing Holiday Girl.
While reading this book, I could picture it as a Hallmark Movie. I would love to watch it play out on the tv screen as it did in my mind while reading it. Most of the characters were love able except for the ones that changed in the first end, the killer and the Mom. I loved this book series.
Stephanie never disappoints. Holiday Girl is a wonderful holiday story filled with love, mystery and humor. The characters are all interesting with a little mystery and quirkiness mixed in. Somewhere Georgia is a town I'd love to visit, if it actually existed. But when reading the story, it feels like it does. 5 Stars for the laughs, the tears and the holiday mood.
If you are looking for a Holiday quick read, the Holiday Girl series can't be beat! I enjoyed getting to know all the character's, small town life, family drama, loss, medical issues, murder and love all wrapped up in a great story line. I've read a lot of Stephanie Bond books and have enjoyed every one of them. Can't wait to see what's next!
I do enjoy all of Stephanie Bond stories but this one is among my favorites. City girl learns about community spirit and love. Plot was interesting and the characters were very relatable. I must admit I waited for all 6 parts of the story to be completed as wanted to read the story in full at Christmas time. Worth the wait!
Always fun reading Stephanie Bond's books! Her characters come alive and I look forward to what happens next. Truly fun to try and figure out who "done-it".....which I never do!! I especially enjoy former characters making visits to her stories. Highly recommend all of Bond's books!
The last book in the series starts off with someone knocked out, the villain being the villain and doing villainy things, the sale of doll clothes, a mysterious package and someone having to make a major decision: will they go back to New York or will they remain in the little town.
As usual with Stephanie Bond a really good ending to a really good series.
Each installment is so good I hate waiting each month for them to come out! Such a great read, Comfort Ann Joy and Justin's chemistry and interactions kept me coming back for more.
Such a cute ending…wish there could be an epilogue so we can see Comfort with her own label…in the town of Joy with Justin and the rest of the gang. Hopefully there is crossover in the next serial…give star read!!
I'm hooked on Bond's serials. The anticipation of waiting for the next chapter is fun. However this series is my least favorite of hers. Was lacking in suspense. Felt dialed in. Still have high hopes for the next one
I love Stephanie Bonds serials. Holiday Girl was clever and funny. It is cool to see some favorite characters from her Stephanie's previous books to tie everything together. I look forward to her next one
This series has been a lot of fun to read. The characters were great to get to know and the small town setting worked out well. Thanks for the fun reading Ms. Bond.
Although spread over 6 books, the story held true throughout. Sometimes you have to follow your heart instead of what looks good. Usually life falls into place when your heart is happy.
I so enjoyed all 6 books. I couldn't have asked for a more funny, mysterious, heartfelt series. These were easy, entertaining and did not let Me down. I lived them All! Go and grab the first book and enjoy the ride.
I really hated to see this come to an end. A mystery, Christmas and romance, all in the same storyline! What more could you ask for except maybe...a happy ending? You'll have to read it yourself to find out what happens in Somewhere.
Another great book by Stephanie Bond. I love the twists and turns in the plot. I don't always figure out the ending before hand. I look forward to her new books.
