Opposites attract in this sweet holiday rom com—but will this small-town sweetheart and a sexy stranger be a perfect match or a recipe for disaster? It’s the most wonderful time of the year…unless you’re me. Hold the hayrides, keep your cocoa, and don’t put me within a country mile of mistletoe. This year, Christmas means chaos. My sister’s getting married and I—Gwen Griffin, perfectionist extraordinaire—will make sure her wedding is flawless. That includes doing the finding myself a wedding date. But in my tiny hometown of Jasmine Falls, South Carolina, I’ll have better luck winning the lottery. I may be awesome at running my cafe, but I’m terrible at men. And after my last epic breakup, everyone in town knows it. That’s why I need a plus-one—even a fake one—so that when my sister gets married, everyone’s attention is on her, where it belongs. The guy next door is perfect for the job. Gorgeous and charming, Logan Fyfe is only here for a few weeks. He’s also a hot Scottish bazillionaire who’s totally out of my league—so my risk of falling into a relationship with him? Less than zero. Pretending to date Logan is the perfect plan—until it isn’t. Beneath his devilish smirk and delicious brogue is a big-hearted man who makes me feel the one thing I never believed to be true—that I’m enough, just the way I am. With the wedding approaching, there’s nothing fake about my feelings anymore. When he slips his arm around my waist and whispers into my ear? Yeah, I’m a goner. We may be worlds apart, but I’m done pretending. It’s time to get real…even if it means risking my heart. Author’s Note: If you like sweet, closed-door romantic comedies with plenty of sizzling chemistry and hilarious banter, then welcome to Jasmine Falls!

Together, with the help of each other, two strangers overcame years of emotional abuse in Lucy Day's light and cute holiday romance.
Gwen and Logan were complete opposites that ended up being perfect for each other. The way Logan supported her was so lovely, and it showed the love he had for her.
Even though I found Logan's patience and Scottish accent very attractive, Gwen was the one who stole the show for me; her problems made her more relatable to me. I identify myself with her on so many levels. There was a moment while reading the book when Logan questioned her, and I was like, damn boy, when am I going to hear that question directed to me? It got me right in the feels.
While it was not too difficult to predict the direction of the story, it was such a charming escape. Warm and romantic, One Sweet Holiday is a heart-warming story that's great to get lost for a while.
Thanks to the Publisher and NetGalley for an early review copy.
This was a cute holiday romcom. Gwen owns a bakery in a small town. She struggles with confidence and is constantly being compared by her snooty mother to her younger sister. When Logan shows up in town, trying to escape his own problems, Gwen feels out of his league. She's not prepared for how caring and down to earth he is. Someone finally wants to take care of her and she doesn't know if she can trust his actions when his stay is only temporary.
This had all the feels of a charming and cozy Christmas romance. It was cute and funny, a great way to start my holiday reading. I really enjoyed it.
what a cute little romcom story to read as the holidays are coming up.🫶🏼 this story reminded me sitting with my grandma watching the season hallmark movies come on.
we meet the scottish bazillionare, Logan, and the hometown baker who owns a little cafe, Gwen. they are both at different points in there life but who knew small towns, holidays, and some good treats could also make two unlikely people come together?!
This was a nice romance. I liked the characters and didn’t find it to be cheesy at all. I loved the setting of a small lake town during a Christmas time. I also liked that Logan was Scottish. I kept getting sexy lumberjack man feels 🤭
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to review this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lucy Day for this ARC! One Sweet Holiday was a quick read with a relatable FMC who struggles with overthinking. I do wish that there was more of a holiday feel to the book as the title and description suggest. I didn't feel like it was that much of a holiday-oriented read. I also thought the plot could've used more development and there wasn't much substance when there could have been. I also felt as though the ending was very rushed and didn't encapsulate everything it could have. Regardless, I thought it was a cute, fake dating/insta-love read!
I loved this story it was fun read and made me want to bake. I loved how sweet Logan is and how much he just wants to help not questions asked. This is a fake dating to lovers that you will sure to devour and have you cheering not only for the two main characters but also for the love of the small town.
Gwen is all about making everyone happy but herself, which includes making sure her sister's wedding is perfect. That includes fake dating her hunky, rich next door neighbor so the attention will not be on her. After her last breakup that the town is still talking about, she just wants to focus on her bakery. So pretending to date Logan is the perfect plan, until it isn't and your heart has other idea's. Can she make it threw her sisters wedding and get back to her real life or should she put her heart back out there?
Thank you to NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for copy of this story for my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline with Gwen and Logan. They were complete opposites that complimented each other in the best ways possible. Gwen had her quirks that Logan was able to help her through each time they arose. He was patient and more than willing to hold her hand through it all. He gave her the best kind of support. Honesty and patience.
Gwen, God love her. I saw so much of myself in her and couldn't help but get all in my feelings throughout this whole book. So many things she felt and went through I could relate on so many levels. Especially when it came to her thoughts, that always seemed to be reinforced with her parents words and actions.
We are who we are because of who helped mold us. It's hard fo break from what you have been told your whole life by those that are supposed to love you unconditionally. Not to mention those same people are supposed to guide you and help you along the way. Not hinder you and treat you like you are the plague.
Logan also had some of the worst people in his life as his family. And it was a wonder that he even spoke to them at all. Like Gwen's parents his mother and grandfather took things to a much higher level of disfunction and petty. I absolutely couldn't stand them. They did some of the most underhanded things just to get what they want.
My heart and mind was in such a limbo reading this book because I feel like I was in the middle of everything with my family. Right along with Gwen and Logan. It was eye opening to be able to see myself in someone else's eyes.

One Sweet Holiday is a delightful romantic comedy that hits all the right notes!
In One Sweet Holiday, you meet Gwen and Logan. As Gwen works tirelessly as a local baker, Logan comes to visit the little town for a wedding they will both attend. At its core, this book is the perfect romance. I struggled a bit in the beginning due to the lack of plot. It focused more on their obsession with each other than on their characters' lives. I appreciate when a romance develops over time; love at first sight is not my cup of tea. However, as the plot unfolded, I fell in love with the story. The characters just needed time to bloom.
I do find the title 'holiday romcom' a bit far-fetched. While the book is set around Christmas, I didn't get a true Christmas feeling. It doesn't follow the typical 'family gathers for Christmas' or 'lovers meet on the ice skating rink' narrative. Instead, it's more ‘two people meeting around Christmas time’. I don't see it as a significant problem, though. The story is lively enough to be considered a romcom.
In the end, I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was very cute, and the characters were lively and engaging. The humor was delightful, and I look forward to reading other books in the same universe to learn more about these characters!
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for letting me read this book. It was a pleasure to have this opportunity.
This was my first Jasmine Falls book but I didn't feel like I needed to know what happened in previous books. Those characters were guest stars in this book. I liked the town, I liked the Christmas wedding, I absolutely loved the sister dynamic and their overbearing mother. It was a fun read. I'll go back to read the other books in the series.
I do have a (long-standing) quibble about the cafes and bakeries with one baker who shows up at 8 AM. I also don't know why Gwen was worried about people finding out that her ex-fiancée cheated and that's why she called off the wedding. That's all on him, not her. Why let him look like the wronged party?

‘Tis the season for holiday romances, and this novel gets off to a good start!
In many ways, it is a simple novel: Gwen, a small-town baker, is busy designing a cake for her baby sister’s wedding, getting all her client’s Christmas’ orders ready, and dealing with an overbearing mother who has made it her mission to see her daughter with a date. And then enters Logan—a handsome, Scottish entrepreneur who needs to get away from his family to make a tough business decision. But, of course, that goal is thrown out the window when he meets Gwen and is instantly charmed by her. Even though there is undeniable chemistry between them, what truly brings them together is how they both struggle to balance pleasing their families while leading the life they want. Their sweet friendship develops quickly, and soon we are introduced to our fake-dating trope when Logan becomes Gwen’s date to the wedding. You know the drill on how it goes after this, BUT I was caught by surprise when I found myself truly intrigued about how things were going to be solved at the end.
Something I really loved about Day’s writing is her protagonist: with stories that rely so heavily on tropes, characters often fall flat or become too one-dimensional. I loved there was more of an essence to Gwen: she speaks her mind, she communicates, she has body-image issues but doesn’t make it her whole personality, she has friends and a life separate from the love interest. She felt like a woman I’d know. While I didn’t get the same roundness from Logan, his POV was still interesting and made me appreciate him as a character. This leads me to another thing I enjoyed from this novel, which is that there is no huge drama lurking behind the scenes, or one big event that will threaten the characters’ relationship. What drives the plot are the normal fantasies/insecurities/struggles anybody encounters at the beginning of all relationships, and to me that made the story a lot sweeter, funnier, and enjoyable.
My one and only comment on this novel is repetition. Both Gwen and Logan bring up their mother’s obsession with them finding partners very often and, even though it is what ends up pushing the fake-dating trope, it is brought up and over-explained in many instances by both characters.
A great read to get the Christmas-y feeling started.

Book Review 📚 One Sweet Holiday by Lucy Day - 4.5/5
I'm ashamed to say that this is my first book by Day, I'm not a huge lover of mushy romcoms, especially at Christmas time (yes I'm a Scrooge). But this was absolutely amazing. I really loved the whole thing and would happily read it again.
Imagine, just imagine sitting in a big cuddle chair with a soft blanket, rain hitting the windows, a cup of hot chocolate, Christmas tree in the background and a perfect Christmas book. Now when I set that scene the book I'm holding is One Sweet Holiday.
The writing style is beautiful, such wonderful wording and descriptions and it was so easily to start reading and not stop until you are done. An amazing plot and story, with amazing characters (most of which are likeable). A perfect Christmas book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dialogue Books for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.
A classic rom-com custom-made for a Hallmark movie.
Logan, with his rippling muscles and Irish brogue, sweeps into Jasmine Falls to escape his family under the pretense of attending a college buddy's wedding. The Maid-of-Honor and next-door-neighbor, Gwen, is a baking extraordinaire that lacks confidence due to a failed engagement and less than supportive parents.
With class holiday themes events around the small town, Logan and Gwen's many tropes (fake relationship, different social classes, holiday fling) lead readers down a lighthearted, feel good path to finding true love. Aside from the many food based similes, there's not much about this book that I didn't enjoy...
Overall: 4.5 stars
I'll tell my students about: language, sex, alcohol, death

Gwen is a bakery owner in small town Jasmine Falls who needs a date to keep her mom and the town off her back. Logan is renting the house next door to escape his family and attend an old friend’s wedding. Fake dating for Christmas ensues....
Like i said at the beginning, this was cute. But there is no spice. Like no open door, no closed door, not nothing.
If that's your thing, go for it.
Thanks to NetGalley for the Arc. All opinions are my own.
This was an adorable holiday romcom. We have fake dating and insta love. I think Logan is just an adorable man who is definitely classified as a cinnamon roll. We have Gwen who just can’t seem to get out of her own way and should believe in herself more. But, Logan really brings out the best in her and it’s very sweet. I did want a little more from the ending. I was hoping someone would put Gwen’s mom in her place but this was still a cute story! A quick read that had me swooning over Logan. Definitely a closed door holiday romance if you aren’t looking for spice.
Sometimes a holiday rom-com is a lovely way to sweeten up this sometimes stressful season.
In this story, the main character Gwen owns a bakery in her hometown of Jasmine Falls. Gwen suffers from some self doubt in business, and in love, as her ex-fiancé ended their engagement right before their wedding. When her sister’s upcoming wedding means that the wealthy, handsome Scotsman Logan Fyfe, an old college friend of the groom, shows up in town for a few weeks before the wedding, the story kicks off into high drive.
This story will appeal to fans of closed door romances and the insta-love trope. The story addresses the challenges of difficult family relationships which was very well done. I enjoyed one sweet holiday.

'One Sweet Holiday' follows Gwen Griffin as she attempts to survive the holiday season in her small town. Preparing for her sister's wedding, her mother's holiday party, and the town auction, Gwen is bombarded with her cafe as well as the town's rumor mill. Being single in the holidays is Gwen's worst nightmare. Enter Logan Fyfe, a Scottish millionaire who moves in next door and her sister's fiance's friend. Gwen and Logan end up in a fake-dating scenario while navigating whether the feelings go beyond fake. This was a quick holiday read that is perfect for a cozy, snowy day!
When the holiday spirit collides with small-town charm, delivering a heartwarming romantic comedy that will leave you with a grin.
The chemistry between Gwen and Logan is not just palpable but downright electric, creating moments of laughter and warmth that resonate throughout the story. The author skillfully weaves a tale of opposites attracting, reminding us that love often comes when and where we least expect it.
What makes this truly shine is its ability to blend sweet romance with genuine, relatable characters.
Such a cute, fun, closed door, festive rom com. I adore a small town romance. I loved both Gwen and Logan, and together they were such a good couple, with such great chemistry. And the Dual POV showing how they were both obsessed with each other from the beginning made it even better. Logan has definitely been added to my top tier book boyfriends list.
I just adore #LucyDay’s writing! She creates books that make me happy and rooting for the characters to live happily ever after. #OneSweetHoliday is one that had me feeling joy inside and loving the connection between Gwen & Logan! This series is the sweetest. I was so excited to return to #JasmineFalls!

Honestly I nice sweet and cute holiday romance loved it perfect book to get you out of a terrible reading slump. Can read it anytime of year honestly just gives you a nice reminder about the holidays coming up
I like opposites attract better than enemies to lovers. This was cute and sweet. Both Gwen and Logan had really messed up families but came out of it differently.
This book has small town romance, fake dating, family drama, and Christmas spirit all rolled up into one pretty package. Gwen and Logan are adorable and I couldn’t get enough! Although it felt like instalove, their sweet love story was encompassed with valuable life lessons and healing. Wonderful short read to get into the holiday season. Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for this ARC!

Gwen is a bakery owner in small town Jasmine Falls who has trouble asking for help. Logan is visiting to escape his family and attend an old friend’s wedding. When Gwen needs a date to her sister’s wedding to keep her mom off her back, Logan is up for the job.
This cute, small town, fake dating romance was a quick and easy read that I couldn’t put down. Gwen and Logan are so relatable and Lucy Day makes you feel like you’ve known them forever.
I’m excited to read the rest of the Jasmine Falls stories!
This holiday rom com was everything sweet you’d expect from a romance backdropped by a bakery. Seriously.
Gwen’s sister is getting married. It’s Christmas. It’s her busiest season at work. And did I mention that last year, she cancelled her wedding just days before? Needless to say she’s not looking forward to this holiday season.
And then it all changes when Logan shows up. Scottish, devilishly handsome, billionaire Logan lands right next door.
This could have been entirely too cliched and predictable if it weren’t for Gwen. Her character is really well written, in my opinion, and far too relatable. Perfectionist. Responsible to a fault. Making sure everyone is okay and, sure, a bit of a workaholic. She has layers of family drama to wrestle through and all of it just works.
Logan is everything you want for a leading man. He’s a fixer - which Gwen needs - and it could be overbearing except that he does it with such kindness….and the Scottish brogue.
Try this one if you like :
🧁 small town setting 🧁 some good sister vibes 🧁 romance by proximity 🧁 opposites attract 🧁 holiday parties and ugly Christmas sweaters 🧁 cozy, cute stories that wrap up with a bow
It just made me smile…can you ask for more than that over the holidays?
Give me all the Christmas Romances! I just love this cover. I just wanted to hug Gwen. I know she is super happy for her sister getting married but it is also hard on her since her wedding did not go as planned. Then her sister's husband to be thinks it's a good idea to invite Gwen's ex to the wedding. Why even!!?? Thank goodness for the hot guy neighbor Logan! He is just perfect for Gwen. I cannot wait to read more from this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Blue Crow Publishing for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Gwen + Logan 🫶 Gwen owns a coffee shop / bakery in her small town. Logan flys from Scotland to the same small town for a month, staying right next door to Gwen. The two hit it off, agree to a little fake dating, and cannot ignore their incredible chemistry.
This swoony holiday rom-com is everything you’ve been looking for! While I’m a fan of open door spice, this closed door / just kisses had so much chemistry, I loved it! Lucy Day is incredibly talented and has gifted us with the sweetest love story. Friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, finding our own way, family pressures, and more. Definitely recommend this if you need a top holiday read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️

Just a few pages in I can already tell that there are going to be some problems in this book. The fact that Gwen didn't tell people why she called off the wedding - even her own mother - seems a bit ridiculous. If someone cheats on you, you're allowed to tell people that they're the reason you didn't get married. I can understand not telling everyone you know but you should be able to tell your mother.
Plus, Gwen is completely judging Theo's friend when all she knows about him is that he's Scottish and rich - says more about her than it does about him.
Also, she admits to herself that she wasn't totally in love with Mark but yet has a panic attack when she sees him with his new fiancé?
Gwen is so worried that everyone will make Victoria's wedding about her and will be worrying about how she's handling things but... Her and Mark have been broken up for over a year - get over it already. She's more likely to make people focus on her.
Gwen is a bit too woe is me for my liking. She keeps going on about how Logan wouldn't be interested in her and he's out of her league when his actions make it clear that he likes her - plus he said it! She's too negative and honestly brings the whole book down because it's constant.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book got me out of a reading slump. I loved everything about it.
I loved the sister bond between Gwen and Victoria, Logan offering help in the form of skills not money and the support and encouragement Logan provided.
