The best way to get over a person is to get under someone else.
KIMBERLY
Between a lousy breakup and enduring Christmas with my entire family at a cabin resort, a sexy holiday fling is just what I need.
I should know better than to trust my brother’s best friend again, but Tyler Ashton has everything to offer for a delicious distraction.
The clock is ticking, and the stakes have never been higher. I’m bringing my A-game to the table, even though a tiny-whee-bit part of me wishes to lose.
TYLER
The last thing I want is to be my best friend’s kid sister’s rebound guy. Still, when the sassy princess, Kimmy Bennett, sets off on a self-destructive mission, I have no choice but to engage.
For the next forty-eight hours, I may claim every inch of her body—anytime, anywhere. The only rule? No catching feelings.
No doubt we have a score to settle. This time, I’m playing for keeps.
THE FREEUSE REMEDY is a standalone, brother’s best friend, spicy holiday romance with explicit steamy scenes, a generous helping of Christmas feels, fluffy moments, a hint of angst, and a dash of BDSM. Readers’ discretion advised.
Freely Used for Christmas series For these couples, Christmas will come more than once this year. Books this hot should not be legal! How tf my phone screen, and my brain, are both still (mostly) intact is shocking and surprising!
I’ve heard about the free use trope, but not actually read a book that revolves around it. Then I find out there’s a whole series/universe with it?!
This novella did not disappoint. The chemistry that Kimmy and Tyler have from the beginning, thanks to growing up together, is off the charts. Then you find out the secret that Ty has been keeping for years?! All. Bets. Are. Offffff!
this was a perfect addition to my only christmas in december i’m doing. so much spice but outside of that, the growth from kimmy and tyler in such a short amount of time was so well done. i loved seeing the dual POV and get the insight into each of their thoughts. definitely a good option for a quick, delightful read!
This is the second book I’ve read by Cyra, and let me tell you, I should NOT have been feeling all these types of ways while thinking about a Santa hat. You have second chance, brother’s best friend, forced proximity, and BDSM tropes all in one book. The FMC gets tied up with twinkle lights for gods sake 🫠 I’m not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope and there was a tiiiny bit at the end (which is why I’m giving 4/5 stars). Overall, Miss Wilde did it AGAIN 🤭

This little Christmas novella has me in a chokehold. In the author's words: Hallmark meets Fifty Shades.
OMG, brother's best friend? Check. Second chance? Check. Spice? Check. Humor? Yes!
I was laughing and tearing up throughout the book, and I couldn't put it down! Good thing it was only slightly over 200 pages, or I'll be staying up the whole night. Then again, I WISH it was longer. I can't get enough of Tyler and Kimmy. They're so good together. The chemistry 🧑🍳🤌 And the side characters are all great.
It has a little bit of angsty moments, but most of it was spice and fluffy, so it makes the perfect Christmas read to cuddle up with, which by the way, I'll be doing again and again!
The spicy scenes, OMG, Tyler being dominant and caring at the same time-when is my turn to be God's favorite? 😂
For a book where she warns you there’s not much plot, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a bit of story before you get into the spice. And that spice is spicing! However, the writing turned into primarily sentence fragments, which was jarring for me and actually made me slow down because I was confused and trying to make sense of all the fragments. So I wish she had gone with regular sentences, and I think it would have been a better read. I was also annoyed by the momentary miscommunication and third act drama. All that said though, you’re coming to the book for spice and it more than delivers on that front, so it’s still enjoyable!
“Challenge fucking accepted. I’ll bang your brains out all night long. And come morning, you’ll walk funny for days.”
Alright, just finished this and hot damn! Give me more, please???? Loved the pull between the MCs. This was funny and hot all at the same time. I'm swooning over Tyler and how he calls Kimmy princess and just wants to take care of her! Let him girl ♡♡
Anyway, this was a great little Christmas book full of story and smut!
I can’t say if there really was much of a plot, but what I can say is that the spice in this was insane, so 4 stars for that. Brother’s best friend, mutual pining, Christmassy vibes, what’s not love?
Tropes
Brother’s best friend Forced proximity Second chance Pleasure dom Free use
Kinks: anal play, oral, spanking, cum play, bondage (inappropriate use of Christmas lights), praise kink and degradation
It’s a cute little romance with some steamy scenes. As much as I really enjoyed it, I just feel it was lacking a bit. I’m conflicted on the ending. I loved it all except for the whole eagle thing. I was also kinda hoping they’d do freaky stuff on a ski lift. It was a comfy story and made my heart flutter.
If you love hallmark movies but wanted a lot of spicy and a touch of taboo then this is IT! It is more spice than plot though, but from the title alone I gathered that lol! Surprisingly sweet and charismatic it’s a perfect quick, spicy read for the holidays. I fell in love with Tyler and Kimmy’s chemistry and goodness Tyler has a naughty way with words 🤣😂
I like the book. It's like a high 3 low 4 situation. The spice was good, the story flowed pretty smoothly and I enjoyed the writing style. It was a quick read for me and a good filler for getting my book goal. Would recommend.
Read this on a four hour road trip. Would recommend for a fast read. My issue was that the story developed very quickly but the author did a good job of creating a backstory where it made sense for most of the book. It still felt like the ending was rushed.
This started off pretty good, but once the smut started, the characters turned into caricatures. Figured I could persevere, but it became laughably bad and the frequent use of sentence fragments was jarring.
It’s not really free use so there’s no ominous tension. There are copious scenes, but I didn’t find the writing to be compelling, and they both sound more immature than their supposed ages.
Tropes: Brothers best friend, family vacation, forced proximity, freshly single, “tribal” tattoos 🙃, tied up with Christmas lights, need to buy shares in coconut oil. Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
