Reads a lot like different Twilight Zone episodes with a common thread tying the stories together … a storage facility dubbed Auntie’s Attic. The fact that the stories were written by 4 different authors is interesting but it doesn’t distract from the theme or make the book “choppy.” In fact the underlying intermittent newspaper articles about another tie to Auntie’s Attic are woven so well in between the chapters adding another layer to this mystery. I do love the stories written by Leon Cooper and Drew Bittner a bit more with their ability to build the tension and develop characters in only a few pages, but all of the individual stories draw in the reader and all 4 authors are very adept at storytelling. And for me on a personal level, the group’s tributes to Leon at the end of the book makes the read even more worthwhile (not gonna lie here, I teared up). If you love fantasy mixed with thriller this anthology is for you.
