Avery is an actress who has a reputation for being difficult. After walking away from a lavish wedding to a much older man, the tabloids are ready to make her the scandal of the century. She decides to hide out for the summer back in Blackberry Cove. Of course, the first person she runs into is Duke, a hard working contractor who believes that she’s just as stuck up and self centered as the media makes her out to be. Duke isn’t without faults but he still volunteers to pose as her fake boyfriend when the paparazzi posts a picture of them in a compromising position.
I enjoyed this book and even though there are some typos, I would still recommend it.

4,5/5 stars.

4,5 stars for this hilarious feel-good romantic comedy novel.
I loved the characters, the small-town setting, but also the storyline and all the side-characters. There were cameos from the previous couples in the series as well and to see them all get their happily ever was just the final chef's kiss. I loved Avery and Duke and together they were just perfect and balanced. This was the best series finale I could have hoped for.

Hollywood starlet Avery loved the Cape when she was there filming so when she cancels her wedding, she decides that’s the best place to lay low. Almost immediately, she’s annoyed by one grumpy local, Duke Hendricks, not for the first time. They clashed before when she was in town so why would this time be any different? But when Avery is hiking and bitten by a snake, she’s thrilled to see her cranky nemesis nearby and grateful that he was willing to suck out the venom. Too bad for Avery, there was a paparazzi lurking nearby and the pictures suggest something far different happening in the secluded woods. The last thing she needs is more publicity, so when a friend in PR suggests Avery and Duke fake-date to improve her image, she agrees and to her shock, so does Duke.

On the surface they seem to be opposites in every way but the more time they spend together, the more they find they have in common. The banter between these two is excellent, from the snarky and hilarious beginning and it only gets better as things heat up. It doesn’t take long before they’re both falling, but her life and her career are in LA and his whole world is clear across the country. Do the city girl and the country boy have something real or is this just a summer fling?

I love a good fake-dating story and these two did not disappoint. This is a fun enemies to friends to lovers that made me laugh but also packed plenty of heart, heat and steam. The characters are likeable and real so they pulled me in from the first pages and I liked everything about their story.

Lila Monroe’s latest rom-com novella is the perfect, charming, summer read. Her story is again set in the tiny hamlet of Blackberry Cove where a scandalized actress can (theoretically) hideaway while her embarrassing “runaway bride” story dies down.

Avery and Duke are easy to root for. Their seemingly opposites-attract relationship is perfect for a fake-dating scenario. However, down deep, the two are not all that different, so while they suffer through staged dates, they grow to like and appreciate one another. Avery is a bit hard to like at the start, but she grew on me as she shared her past and shared her vulnerability. Duke’s initial grumpiness would make it easy for the author to not fully develop the character, but his caring nature eventually shines through and redeems him (both to this reader and Avery).

The Small-Town Seduction Plan is sweet with a bit of spice. The pace was perfect, and the banter is fun. I enjoyed all the secondary characters, especially those in Blackberry Cove. There are great little cameos from some of the key characters in prior books in this series of standalone romantic comedies. I thoroughly enjoyed this charming, small-town romance.

Diva actress Avery Lawrence is escaping tabloid headlines when she ditched her super lavish extravagant island wedding at the last minute. (For the full play-by-play of her Hollywood princess antics and the week-long wedding bonanza read THE TROPICAL ROMANCE TEST. It will be like a prequel for you and it's hilarious!). Who would've thought that saying "I don't" would cause so much fuss?
A perfect place to hide out is the small town she shot a movie in last year. Surely the paparazzi wouldn't find her there. Surely so and worse, they've caught a snapshot of her in what is interpreted into a very compromising (slutty) position when of course it wasn’t anything like that at all. Now all paparazzi are breathing down her neck for the next big money shot.

In order to give them what they want- or don't want - Avery reluctantly starts a fake relationship with the man who gave her the most trouble last year while filming the movie and the one she happened to be caught in the risqué picture with. Duke Hendricks.
Their hate is mutal but their chemistry is off the charts!
This is a fun summer romp where both learn that not everything or everyone is how they first seem.

It was a great, sexy, funny read!!

Lila has once again given us a couple we can't help but laugh and fall in love with.
Avery Lawrence is our city gal that has found her calling in the bright lights of the big screen. She is also now known in the tabloids as a runaway bride. Getting away from the wedding was easy now staying hidden that is another story and also how she ends up in Blackberry Cove. It was a little town that she remembered well from one of her movies. Duke Hendricks oh how I love me some grumpy, stoic, restoration specialists that also loved his flannel. He remembers the city gal Avery all too well the last time she blew into his town, and he still wants nothing to do with her now, or does he?? This is certainly opposites attract, fabulously fun chemistry, witty sarcastic banter and a deep-rooted pull that neither of them can deny, but they will!! When a plan is devised to have a fake relationship to throw the gossip groups off this couple is about to find themselves in some very compromising photos and positions! I loved the town, the wonderful cast of characters, the constant struggle they each felt with their hidden feelings and the way they stood by one another when the times got tough! A great addition to the Hollywood Bachelors.

I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of Avery when I read The Tropical Romance Test and having not read the Hollywood Marriage Bargain I hadn’t encountered her character previously. I must say though that I really did like her.

There was so much more to her than she let people see which, given her profession and abrupt departure from her wedding and the furore that caused, was understandable.

Avery was just a girl who had a big dream that she had escaped her past and worked so hard for and she’d never considered there might be more out there for her. Hitting BlackBerry Cove to hideout until her latest personal storm blew over gave her more than a little breathing space and started a potential new chapter for her. I loved seeing the real Avery flourish and realise what she wanted from life.

Duke….. the gods, the guy was a grump but a sweet cinnamon roll covered in icing grump once you got past his walls. His past lent to how he was now when it came to letting people in, which was understandable when we learned what his ex was like. He didn’t give the best impression when Avery arrived in the Cove but as the story progressed we got a front seat to just how caring, considerate and supportive he was - and OMG, he was even better than I expected him to be!!!
The thing was, even when he was trying to dislike Avery you just knew he was interested in her. Their attraction and spark grew with each interaction and felt like a neon sign that neither of them initially wanted to acknowledge!!!

Loved the supporting characters and just how fun this book was. Lila has given us another great read in the Hollywood Bachelors series!!!

I’m gonna be going back to read the couple of books I’ve missed so far in the series.

Avery Lawrence is an up-and-coming movie star who may have just ruined her entire career when she called off her Hollywood wedding. Looking for somewhere to get out of the limelight, she returns to the one place where she can relax and hide out... Blackberry Cove.

Duke Hendricks has no time for the Hollywood nonsense that surrounds Avery, but when a compromising picture of the two of them get published, he is suddenly thrust into her world and the paparazzi that surrounds it...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Small-Town Seduction Plan was an entertaining, fake relationship, opposites attract read! Avery and Duke have butted heads from the moment they met, but when the paparazzi shows up to Blackberry Cove, they go all-in on a fake dating plan!
With her career in jeopardy, Avery needs all the good press she can get, but when the paparazzi turn an innocent occurrence into tabloid fodder, she needs to change the narrative... and the last person she would ever expect to help her, steps in to save the day... but maybe not her sanity!
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Avery and Duke, and their huge personality differences! Duke is an in-demand historic home restorer, who thinks Avery is a high-maintenance diva. But the more Duke gets to know Avery, the more he realizes the depth she possesses, and that just maybe, Avery is a woman he could have a future with... if only their stars would align...
Entertaining read.
I've enjoyed this series although this one wasn't a favorite of mine.
Avery is an up and coming actress whose reputation imploded by canceling her wedding at the last minute. Although the reason was noble - she wanted to marry for love instead - the timing was bad. She goes back to Blackberry Cove to lick her wounds and encounters Duke on more than one occasion.
These two despise each other on sight. Their bantering was quite funny and entertaining.
They enter into a fake romance when the paps take a compromising (although it was entirely innocent) photo of the two of them in the woods. While that moved the story along - I felt their romance that, of course, results was a bit rushed. It didn't quite feel real to me.
I will say that I did appreciate the way Duke stood by her when other authors would have created more drama for the third act. A stand-up guy is hard to find!!
If you've read the series - you'll be pleased to see so many characters return. While this one wasn't a big hit for me, it was still an entertaining read.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
4.5 SMOOCHES!
Lila Monroe's The Small-Town Seduction Plan is a fun and amusing romantic comedy set against the charming small-town backdrop of Blackberry Cove. Monroe crafts an entertaining narrative around Avery, the Hollywood-starlet-turned-runaway-bride who is seeking refuge from her wedding that wasn’t, and Duke, a ruggedly handsome yet grumpy hero dedicated to restoring historic homes. Lila’s natural storytelling style shines through in every chapter, seamlessly blending her sense of humor with heart and heat. The witty banter between Avery and Duke crackles with energy and kept me tapping my Kindle to see what will happen next.
The chemistry between Avery and Duke was palpable, making for some truly memorable and spicy moments. Monroe masterfully balances the light-hearted, feel-good elements with a fast-paced plot that never drags. Avery's sunny disposition perfectly complements Duke's gruff exterior, creating a dynamic and engaging enemies-to-lovers romance that feels both fresh and familiar. The Small-Town Seduction Plan gets 4.5 smooches from me!
The Small-Town Seduction Plan is a delightful addition to her Hollywood Bachelors series. The story follows Avery Lawrence, a rising actress who calls off her wedding and seeks refuge in the charming town of Blackberry Cove. To escape the paparazzi, she enlists the help of Duke Hendricks, the grumpiest local, to fake date her and sell a romance to the press.
The chemistry between Avery and Duke is undeniable, and their banter is both witty and engaging. As they grow closer, they begin to reveal their deeper qualities, slowly changing their opinions of each other. The pacing is well-balanced, and the characters are well-developed, making it easy to become invested in their journey.
The romance is sweet and the humor is on point, making this a light-hearted and entertaining read. While it may not be the most complex or dramatic story, it is a fun and satisfying addition to the series. Overall, I would recommend this book to fans of romantic comedies and those looking for a lighthearted, easy-reading romance.
Can a Hollywood actress who's the trending tabloid sensation (not in a goid way) and a grumpy, flannel shirt wearing who restores and redesigns historic buildings find happiness? Anything is possible especially when you bond over a bout of food poisoning. Lila Monroe takes us back to Blackberry Cove for the latest in her Billionaire Bachelor's Club series. Small Town Seduction Plan is fun, flirty, filled with characters from previous books and of course a guaranteed happily ever after. Avery Lawrence and Duke Hendricks may have started off on the wrong, contentious foot but the sparks are there. Both make assumptions about the other based on previous experience. He's convinced she's a diva, shallow and spoiled. She swears he's a grumpy hermit who glowers all the time. The saying "fake it til you make" certainly applies to these two because their fake romance has so much underlying sizzle that the pages nearly catch fire.
When you’re a famous Hollywood actress and you run out on your wedding, it gets you lots of tabloid notice – of the negative variety. So Avery Lawrence decides to leave it all behind and hide out in small-town Blackberry Cove.
Until the paparazzi find her, take a photo of her and her nemesis, local contractor Duke Hendricks, in a compromising pose. In her defense, it was a snake bite on her inner thigh and he was…helping. So to make this newest scandal go away, Avery now has a fake boyfriend. Yep, it's Duke. Neither is very happy about this development, but the more time they spend together, the more something else develops.
From mutual hate to fake dating to forever, this grumpy/sunshine romance was so much fun! Tons of laughs and full of heart, my only regret is that it wasn’t longer. Perfect for when you have a short reading window, you won’t want to miss this phenomenal small-town romance.
If you are looking for an entertaining read that will leave you smiling look no further than Avery Lawrence and Duke Hendricks story in The Small Town Seduction (Hollywood Bachelors #5). Lila Monroe takes us back to Blackberry Cove for this fun and flirty read and I’m sure like me you will be entertained by this gem of a read.
What can a Hollywood actress who is being featured on every tabloid have in common with a grumpy restoration guy who wears flannel shirts… well they do say opposite attracts. From the moment they meet sparks fly and not in a good way because there is nothing good about a bout of food poisoning …..
What follows is an entertaining, witty and passionate read that touched me on so many levels. This is a wonderful addition to the series and from the moment I read the blurb I knew this was going to be a special read and I wasn’t wrong. Lila Monroe has once again shown us why she is one of the best romantic comedy authors with Avery and Dukes story.
“I know it’s all fake, but when you look at me like that, and smile like you really mean it, I don’t need a good reason.”
The Small Town Seduction takes place in an adorable coastal town, Blackberry Cove. Avery is an actress who has just left her ex at the alter and is in dire need of a location to lay low from the tabloids. So she is back in Blackberry Cove where she filmed a movie. Duke is a Blackberry Cove native, has a company that restores historic houses and tries to hate everything to do with Avery.
Avery and Duke are pure opposites from personality to lifestyle. I loved their bickering which ultimately leads to 🔥 in the bedroom. Once Duke got to talking! 🥵 They were great together. All of the past couples from this series also made a reappearance which is always so fun to see how far they’ve come!
Thank you @lilawrites for the ARC!
“The truth is, ever since the first day, seeing you on the side of the highway…I’ve been fighting for my life here, trying not to admit I was already falling in love with you.”
The Small-Town Seduction Plan was a sweet, fast-paced, adorable read that had me rooting for Avery and Duke to find their HEA. These two enemies to lovers sizzled with their flirty, snarky banter and when they began their fake relationship, the sparks flew.
I loved watching Avery and Duke discover the softer sides of each other and Duke was absolutely swoonworthy once he fell. His unconditional support and understanding was just the balm that Avery needed to realize what was truly important in her life. The Small-Town Seduction Plan is the perfect summer read with fun and spirited characters and small town charm that will leave you with a smile on your face.
Yet another hit in this series by Lila! Duke and Avery will steal your heart in this great story! 5 hot Hollywood stars for this one!
Avery has become the bad guy by cancelling her wedding, and heads back to Blackberry Falls, where she did a movie last year. She will be off the grid so her career can get back on track! But she encounters Duke, when she gets a flat tire, and he leaves her there on the side of the road.
Duke thinks she's entitled, spoiled and just not a nice person. Avery thinks he's a grumpy, not nice person.
When someone comes up with the fake dating idea, after a compromising photo is leaked of the two of them, they actually learn about each other and form a connection filled with sexual chemistry that will blow your mind!
I enjoyed their story, I couldn't put it down! I know you will too!
Avery knows that not going through with her wedding was the best decision she could have made but now she finds herself on the receiving end of negative publicity. She escapes to Blackberry Cove but not only do they follow her, but they find her in what appears to be a compromising position.
Duke and Avery don’t get off to the best start and it doesn’t get any better when his attempts to help backfire and he now finds himself pretending to be in a relationship with a woman he wants nothing to do with. Let the fun begin!
The encounters between them are humorous as well as the situations that they find themselves in. They each believe that they know who the other however they are about to realize how wrong they are as they take us on a journey filled with romance and great chemistry.
This book is an enemies to lovers, small-town, fake relationship, lots of fun story about Avery and Duke. Avery is a Hollywood runaway bride hiding out in Blackberry Cove. Duke is a resident craftsman unimpressed with Avery's fame or problems. The two have chemistry that sizzles off the page. Their fake relationship is full of witty banter and snark.
I loved reading about how they evolve as people and realize that they are more alike than they thought and much better together. I loved watching Avery and Duke discover tbis for themselves amongst other parts of who they are.
The Small-Town Seduction Plan makes for a great summer read. There is a great story, lots of fun characters, great writing, and an all around charming small town. You won't be able resist smiling. There is a warm hearted HEA and plans for the future. I recommend this gem to everyone.
The Small-Town Seduction Plan (Hollywood Bachelors Book 5) by Lila Monroe is a witty and entertaining quick read that you can't put down! Everyone wants to know what goes on with Hollywood's A-Listers, and this book brings all a person's questions to fruition. Avery is rebounding from her disastrous career move of leaving her wedding and groom. She knows how the industry works and thinks she can overcome this nosedive into her acting. What she doesn't expect is the feelings she develops for our broody main male character, Duke. Their banter is laugh out loud comical especially with this brooding character. What I love most about Duke is when he commits to his relationship with Avery, fake or not, he acts like the man all women wish they had: protective and willing to do anything for HER. Grab this wonderful romcom; sit back and get ready for laughter (which is the best medicine).
Avery had decided it was time to do something for herself, including finding love. She walks away from her big Hollywood wedding and never imagines getting the backlash that she has. When she decides to take a break to the cape she doesn't realize it's about to get even more complicated. Duke is the man who drives her bat sh@@ crazy. Duke can't stand Avery but for reasons he doesn't want to acknowledge. When fate keeps throwing them together they are about to open their eyes. Now they have to do the impossible and that is convince people they are in love. The problem...their passion is off the charts and they may no longer be pretending. When Avery finally gets the break-out role will Duke be there?
This is the fifth book in this impressive series, and this is Duke and Avery’s story.
Avery’s reputation is left in tatters after she runs from her Hollywood wedding, and she heads to small town Blackberry Cove, to hideaway and escape from the paparazzi, and to regroup while waiting for the scandal to die down. Duke is a hunky local craftsman, and he becomes the bane of Avery’s existence, and a series of events have them fake dating.
This is a well written story which has friendships, enemies / lovers, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, drama, scandal, fake dating, gossiping, humor, witty banter, palpable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, and spicy, small two romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Lila Monroe's books are always a perfect mix of fun, funny, and sweet with great characters, witty banter, and snappy writing. This book is no exception, and I loved the grumpy sunshine and fake dating tropes.
Avery and Duke lead very different lives but when they are thrown together you can see the spark between them that only grows the more time they spend together. They were both characters that were easy to connect with and who I couldn't wait to see get their HEA.
This book had me laughing out loud from the very first chapter and I didn't want to put it down. It is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to read whatever Lila puts out next!
Welp! I didn't know that I needed Avery's story, but here we are and I loved it.
The last we saw of Avery was when she walked away from her multi-million dollar wedding. When the crap hit the fan instantly, she hit the road to hide out on the cape where she filmed here last movie. What could go wrong? Or Right?
I loved it when cranky Duke left Avery standing on the side of the road with a flat tire.
Avery and Duke were total opposites that totally worked once they let go of their egos.
4.5 Star Review The Small Town Seduction Plan (Hollywood Bachelors #5) by Lila Monroe
The Small Town Seduction was a good addition to Lila Monroe’s latest series. It was a great mix of humour and romance.
The characters were so easy to relate too and you cannot help but fall in love with them.
This is Avery and Duke’s story and when I read the blurb, I knew that this was going to be an entertaining read. This was a witty, passionate, and romantic story that left me with a smile on my face.
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a fantastic grumpy sunshine romance with a little dash of fake relationship to liven things up. It was a well written story with a good pace. It was the fifth book in the series but I would say it could easily be read as a standalone. Duke and Avery had a lot of chemistry and it didn’t always work in their favor but when they finally got on the same page they were fantastic together. I absolutely adored this book.
This book was quite entertaining.
Avery is a run away bride, fleeing to a small town in the hopes of escaping the limelight for a while. Goodness me, I have to say I do admire her as it certainly cannot be easy to be an actress and have people following your every move. Seeing grumpy Duke just takes the cake and you can cut the animosity with a knife. Yikes….
In all in honesty I couldn’t help but get my hopes up for the actress and builder getting hot and heavy. Especially when Avery is not feeling quite herself atm. You cant really blame her.
I love the small town folks too and the banter was great! A fantastic addition to the series!
The emerging actress Avery Lawrence calls off her wedding and as result she's hit by the bad press, so she decides to hide on the Cape Cod coast. When the ruthless paparazzi find her Avery needs a plan to make them relent, so she accepts to fake dating the grumpiest Blackberry Cove's towner, Duke Hendricks, in order to sell some romance. Will they succeed in their plan without kill each other or fall in love for real?
Avery and Duke are your typical opposites who begin to grow closer discovering the qualities they cleverly conceal, slowly changing their opinion of each other.
I loved these two characters, their little banters made me smile, and their more meaningful chats made me see and appreciate their depth.
I'm a Lila Monroe satisfied reader, her storytelling grabbed me right at the beginning and released me at the end. The pace was good and the main characters stole my heart.
I absolutely recommend this book.
Duke & Avery Love them!
Duke is such a grump and Avery is such a princess. I was having a hard time warming up to Mr. Grumpy but once the real Duke came out he was hard not to fall for. Avery was so much more than the high maintenance actress we saw previously. Fun story! This has one of my new favorite getting caught in a storage room scenes. 😉 Great addition to the series.
Sweet and Spicy!
Enemies to lovers, fake dating, and the MMC is a dirty talker! I love that she woman’s up and tells him straight up what she wants and I love that he communicates with her that he’s not going anywhere. The third act conflict was thin but in the end I was glad about it!
