A sticky candy apple mishap at a lively Halloween fair leads to an instant connection between Elijah and Ronan. Quickly falling in love, they discover that they fall into a comfortable relationship. As they navigate meeting the parents and trying to understand each other's quirks, they have to learn how to compromise and communicate. Stuck in his ways, Ronan struggles to understand Elijah's charismatic easy-going attitude. From attraction to heartache, Elijah and Ronan must find a way to meet each other in the middle or choose to part ways.
This was a really cute and sweet prequel to what’s to come in Twisted Candy Canes. Elijah and Ronan are so cute together, and they have an amazingly healthy relationship filled with acceptance and communication. I did find that some of the dialogue seemed a little out of character at times - maybe too serious and too “precise” if that makes sense, but I only got a brief glimpse of their characters in the prequel. I’m excited to move to the main novel and see their growth!
MM isn't typically my genre, but these two are absolutely adorable together. This is a sweet story of two very different people forming an unlikely connection that blossoms into more. Loved it.
