My name is Ace Watson, and I’m having an existential crisis.
I finished last season as one of the league's best pitchers. Baseball’s smooth-talking boy wonder. The future of The New York Lions.
I'm starting this season as the worst.
And I don't want to sound dramatic, but the fault lies entirely with Payton Lopez.
She walked into my life with her mile long legs and dark brown waves, and threw me the curviest of all curve balls. Overnight my ability to pitch disappeared with my ability to charm, and I found myself riding a one way ticket to being the most expensive bench warmer in the M.L.B.
The only solution: to get Payton to fix what she broke, something she agrees to on one very easy condition.
Before long, what started as a way to get my pitch back, soon turns into any excuse I can find for us to spend time together.
Before long I have everything I didn't even realize I wanted.
Now I just need to prove to her that while I exist without baseball, I can’t live without her.
Payton Lopez might have thrown me a curve ball, but I’m pitching it right back.

She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.

I absolutely LOVED this book yall! It is hands down my favorite of the series so far. I loved the banter. The characters. The age gap. The spice. The confidence of these two. The vulnerability. But mostly I loved how much this book made me LAUGH. I have read this series out of order which I normally don't like but was ok doing it in this case. So I knew Ace and Payton ended up together after reading the Baller. Ace Watson is the star pitcher for the New York Lions. He has a way with the ladies. Or at least he thinks he does until he has a one night stand with Payton Lopez who tells him in a few choice words that he didn't do it for her. This story follows him trying to get his mojo back because now he can't pitch. And Payton being looped into being a participant in this experiment all while trying to ignore the fact that they both like doing these things with EACH OTHER. I loved Payton's sass. I loved that she was older- we don't see a lot of books with the FMC being old. She was 30 to Ace's 23 (maybe 24?). I loved how that little gap made such a difference in her knowledge of things and her self confidence. And I loved reading when Ace realized this. Ace was hilarious. He was kind of a grump at first but him showing up at Payton's for round two and saying he felt like he was in school was perfect. These two just clicked. They were opposite in so many ways but watching them unravel each other was very sweet and fun to be a part of.

Payton has always had this fantasy of Ace Watson. It is involved and specific. So when she ends up having a one night stand with him on her birthday and things fall short of said fantasy- she is disappointed. But also kind of like oh well. See Payton is a dating girl. She doesn't do like full relationships but more likes the feeling of firsts while also really liking kissing. So when she sees Ace and let's him know how he stands with her. She recognizes it as a young man who still hasn't learned all the things. But then he shows up at her door with a proposition. He wants to try again and he comes with new lessons in his back pocket. Payton is surprised and pleasured in the best way. And now this is their thing. His pitching had dropped with his mojo but now it comes back after they spend the night together. The thing is though that Payton likes having all of these experiences with him. She likes learning new things and trying things together. She likes seeing his confidence grow. She likes that he brings her gifts and kind of dotes on her. But then someone tells her a harsh reality and she has to wonder if she will be brave enough to recognize that she LIKES Ace not just what they are doing together. Will she be brave enough to tell him before it's too late?

Ace is a man of many talents. He is the star pitcher of the team while also enjoying himself with different women regularly. He knows how good he is at all things women. But then a woman leaves him alone the next morning. She doesn't come back for seconds. And that has him thinking. When he sees her, Payton, at a party and confronts her- she gives it to him straight. He focused on himself more than her. Now he can't get out of his head. Have women been lying to him all this time? Is he just mediocre? And now he has the yips. Only one thing can fix it- a second chance. So he shows up at Payton's apartment and asks her. Can they try again? What she doesn't know is that he has found old Cosmo articles with insider info on how to make things great for your partner. So he brings that to the table and this time the experience is unlike anything he has experienced before. How did he never know kissing could be like that? Or just foreplay in general? He is determined to continue to see the look of satisfaction on Payton's face not only because his pitching is back but because he LIKES seeing that look. He likes surprising her. He likes how comfortable they are with each other to try new things. He starts to realize how much he actually likes her. He realizes he wants more with her. But she seems to be holding him at arm's length. When she breaks things off unexpectedly he starts to realize more is at play. He is determined to help her understand that he isn't going anywhere. He just needs her to catch up.

I just can't recommend this one enough. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series but this one just hit different for me in the best way! I really connected with Payton and her awesomeness. I liked the reverse age gap situation as well as kind of the reverse grump (she was kind of grumpy towards our golden retriever MC). I am really looking forward to reading Parker and Tanner's stories coming soon :)

This one was SO fun! The hero and heroine have a one night stand and the heroine was not impressed. She tells the hero and he immediately falls into a funk with pitching, and he thinks his key to playing well again is sleeping with her and showing her exactly how he can be a good time. I love these characters so much and how the heroine ended up needing the hero to help out with a promotion at work, so she couldn't stay away. And I always looove a good baseball romance!!

I am speechless!

I just knew within the first chapter of this book that I was in LOVE! In love with Payton, in love with Ace and in love with their story!

The Shake Off is the second book in Lulu Moore’s New York Lions series and also one of my most anticipated reads of this year, and let me just say I was NOT disappointed one bit!

He falls first, reverse age gap, baseball romance!!! Also a one night stand that goes wrong (but then gets made up for, in the best kinda way *wink wink*)!! Say LESS!!

Lulu Moore has seriously out done herself with this one! So PLEASE I am begging you! Read this book you will NOT regret it!!!

Also a huge thank you to Valentine PR for sending me an ARC of this beauty!

Well friends, she did it again. Just when I thought no one could top Jupiter Reeves, Ace Watson came in like a wrecking ball and took the top spot. I found myself smiling throughout the entirety of this book. It was sheer and utter perfection.

The banter between Ace and Payton was honestly some of the best I've ever read. I laughed out loud so many times that my husband was side eyeing me. And it was so great to see all of my favorites back again. With Payton and Kit being best friends, I just loved getting an update on her and her life, as well as all of the other girls.

If you are looking for a top tier baseball romance with perfect banter and plenty of hot spice, this book is for you!

Lulu, I just absolutely love you! Thank you for giving us what we didn't even know we were missing: A charming and adorable (but also really freakin hot) mustache wearing pitcher!

We first meet Ace and Payton in The Third Baseman. Ace Watson is the new hot shot pitcher for the New York Lions and Payton works for a publishing company. I am trying to find a way to say the thing that I want to say, but also, it was such a damn good surprise for me and gave me a laugh that I don't want to ruin it. Let's just say, sometimes when you're a young, hot up and coming baseball stud and you have women throwing themselves at you left and right, you forget to put a little effort into making sure things are good for her, if you know what I mean.

After a one-night stand, Ace finds himself with a case of the Yips, and it's all Payton's fault! She messed with his mojo, so obviously she needs to be the one to help him with a Shake Off. They come to an agreement, that obviously is such a hardship for both of them when they so clearly have amazing sexual chemistry, let's say Cosmo and their clever little Kama sutra drawings were brought up more in this book than I think I have even heard in years! Like is Cosmo still in print or is it all digital?

Then we hit that third act break up, but it's actually so heartbreaking because Payton had such a shit childhood that she thinks Love isn't real and that her and Ace will end anyways, so may as well get her over with (With some "help" from a major main character whom I am still freaking angry with, I'm looking at you Chapter 21). I love that Ace can see through her shit, he wants her, but instead of pushing or forcing her, he waits for her to come to him and oh man it was so good, and we even got to see hints of this dominant side of Ace when he pulled what is essentially a "hurt her and die" moment. 🖤💛

I have so many highlights and notes in my app that I could honestly go on and on, but you'll need to wait until December 20th and find out for yourself!

"She stood up and took my hand, and I followed her back to the party. Which is when it occurred to me I’d probably follow her anywhere."

This story was enjoyable and all the characters were perfect. Payton was a girl who knew what she wanted and was smart, strong and independent. Ace was kinda cocky and arrogant in the beginning but after some chapters, he grew on me. The writing and plot were great but I felt like I barely knew Payton & Ace, I mean their backstories were revealed way too late and I just couldn't relate much with them and because of that, I felt like their personalities were not that strong. I liked the way they handled their situation though. They were seeing each other all the time but didn't know what to label their relationship, or was it really a relationship? I also really liked the strangers to friends to lovers arc and there was definitely some chemistry between them but the ending felt abrupt because the way they got back together so easily by just having a short conversation was disappointing. Overall, it was an okay read for me, so my rating for this book is 3.25 stars.

OMG! I LOVED IT!!!

I have been waiting for Payton’s book since The Secret and it was everything I wanted for her. She is now one of my favorite FMCs in the Luluverse. I love how honest she is and how she goes after what she wants. Ace Watson, the star pitcher for the New York Lions, is no stranger to getting what he wants and he wants Payton the moment he sees her. (I realize my repetitiveness; I'm not good at reviews for books I love!!)

Their one night stand does not live up to Payton's fantasy and she denies Ace a repeat performance after they run into each other again. Ace is a bit of a drama king about the situation at first, but he eventually proves that he takes direction really well and is committed to showing initiative (*wink, wink). Those steamy scenes had me fanning myself and clutching my pearls (IYKYK).

What starts out as an arrangement quickly turns into something more for both Ace & Payton. There are challenges and I am still pretty mad at someone for how the conflict played out, but it sets the stage perfectly for Ace to BRING THE SWOON! This man y'all....

Even though I've been rambling on for four paragraphs now, I’m finding it very difficult to properly gush about this book as a lot of my favorite things are spoilers. Positive problems lol. I love these characters so much. My perma-grin is still in full effect days later.

Read it; go in blind. It can absolutely be read as a standalone. This is one hundred percent Ace & Payton’s story. Fair warning: you will want to read The Tuesday Club and The Third Baseman immediately after.

Thank you so much to Lulu for this ARC. I'll be over here not so patiently waiting for the next book. Sorry not sorry for the DMs.

lulu delivered with this!! she wrote payton & ace SO well! she gave them great growth and made ace so swoony <3333

sometimes when a book’s reverse age gap, the writer makes the man immature but lulu didn’t and i LOVED that! ace was open, willing to grow, & talk things out. i loved him <3

i really loved everything about this and i can’t wait to read every single thing lulu’s ever written

thank you valentine pr for the arc!!

Read it in one sitting and have no regrets.

I laugh SO MUCH with this one! I wasn't expecting to love Ace’s story as much as I did but oh man his plot was… SO GOOD!

Firstly, the beginning of this book was the funniest - Ace’s unbeliever about Payton's reaction was so, so good and I can’t stop laughing when I think about that particular scene.

Lulu’s sense of humor is always so good and I love every single moment she writes.

The book was super funny but there were some parts I was completely obsessed over this couple and how Ace loved Payton - oh Lord!!

It’s also spicier than the first one but in the best way possible.

This series just became one of my favorites and I can’t wait for the next books.

I want to start by saying that I am a ride or die Jupiter fan but I am now officially all about Ace. That man has my heart and soul in the palm of his hand and he might be one of my favorite characters in all of the Lulu-verse. Strong tie with Rafe I think. I KNOW I KNOW!! How could I?!?! I mean when you read Ace and Payton’s story you will absolutely fall head over heels in love with this golden retriever of a man. He is cocky yet humble and the banter between them is on the next level. They are flirty and funny while adamantly not trying to be in a relationship yet they stumble right into one. While there is some serious third act drama, I appreciate Lulu for weaving some drama all throughout the story so there is a push and pull, will they won't they tension that steadily builds up to their defining event. It also makes for some really great character development.

While Ace is one of my favorite MMCs, Payton is not my favorite FMC but she is definitely up there though. I am a Beulah fan girl through and through but I love these women Lulu writes who know what they want and they go for it all in. Payton hasn’t had the best time with men and is quick to love up on them and leave them in the morning (if she waits that long) so the thought of her and Ace repeatedly hooking up doesn’t really work for her. She makes this man work for every moment with her and it definitely kicked up that angst ten fold with those stolen moments here and there. It was HOT.

There was the perfect mix between sweet and spicy in their story and I lived for those moments where all the walls were down between them. I mean it was hilarious to watch four grown men sneaking Cosmo magazines. I nearly died laughing at the Fab Four’s antics. Speaking of the Fab Four, I have a good feeling that I am going to be all about Parker, Lux and Tanner. Parker strikes me as the all american boy with some naughty skills in bed while I bet Lux has some surprises for us in the bedroom department. I can’t quite pinpoint Tanner but he seemed kind of shy so I can see him with a single mom kind of vibe but I may be wayyy off base here.

I’ve been working my way through Lulu’s backlist over the last couple of months and I’m so sad now to be all caught up 😭 I had heard the hype about Ace Watson early on, and let me tell you I was not disappointed! 👏🏼

Ace was such a guy 😂 He was the stereotypical jock who knows he’s all that, and I loved it! I full on laughed out loud so much at the banter between him and the boys, especially during the Cosmo scenes 🤣 But what I loved most was that Payton put him in his place so quick he didn’t know what was happening! He had a rude awakening that gave him a bit of an identity crisis, but I loved that we saw him completely mature as the book went on. It was the perfect Reformed Playboy redemption story, and I loved watching him discover more about himself.

Payton was so sassy and stubborn, I loved her! She didn’t take crap from anybody and was so quick to put people in their place. She had her job cut out for her dealing with Ace, and I loved their playful relationship. I love the whole “we’re not dating but we’re something” trope, because it’s so sweet when they finally realise their feelings.

I loved the little breadcrumbs we got about Radley coming to Columbia and of course I’m already in love with Lux, so I seriously cannot wait for The Baller!! 😍

Tropes:
- Baseball Romance
- Failed One Night Stand
- Age Gap (she’s older)
- Found Family
- He Falls First
- Boy Obsessed
- Golden Retriever MMC
- Reformed Playboy

“Wow. Like, holy shit. Wowzers” ….this second book in the New York Lions Series was amazing. I was so excited to be offered an ARC book knowing how good the first book was and I will say this book is better I think. It is steamy it is a he falls first baseball romance with a fiery FMC who battles who own insecurities stemming from her parents past divorce. “I never thought I’d say this, but Payton Lopez is a dick. And I think I might be in love with her.”

Lulu Moore has made me love yet another smoking hot baseball athlete, love how it is interconnected and you see Marnie and Jupiter and other delicious team members especially Ace’s roommates.

Everything about this book was amazing I binged it in a day I just couldn’t put it down. Ace Watson is a top A+ student. And the spice in this book…. Whooo is spicy

To see how Ace and Payton’s relationship develops and thaws overtime was so beautifully written.

You won’t be disappointed with this read

“Payton giggled–a sound I wanted to keep in a locket around my neck. I’d never take it off”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Lulu has once again delivered! There has not been a book that I haven’t enjoyed and I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical that Ace wouldn’t quite measure up-to Jupiter from The Third Baseman - but I was proved wrong.

We briefly met Payton and Ace in previous books and boy does that man have a huge ego. I laughed so much when, following their one night, which doesn’t live up to Payton’s fantasies, Payton absolutely did not hold back in telling Ace.

Payton is a strong, funny, independent FMC, who I would love to have as a friend. You could see Ace’s development from cocky and confident to an absolute gem, throughout the book and I applaud his unique way to improve himself - Cosmo for the win 😂. Payton showcased her vulnerability and learned a few things herself - which was so wonderful to see play-out.

These two had such banter and chemistry. I loved Ace’s teammates - they were hilarious and who I hope we will see much more of. Lulu is a master at skilful character introductions - giving you just enough that you desperately want their story next.

This book was all kinds of fantastic - laughter, banter, baseball, romance and spice that absolutely spiced 🤭.

Yay! I'm so happy!!
This book was absolutely amazing.
I love how Lulu "broke" the ONS formula and made it different.
I liked that although we got the girls' group, we also got the boys' gang! And let me tell you, I ADORED these boys! Lux was my favorite, and I can't wait to read more about him but back to our mcs... I adored them.
Payton was such a good heroine. I liked how driven she was, I also like that she was older and more experienced and that she got to face many of her issues and how supportive Ace was (also Kit! I want a bff like her!)
Now, Ace... I swooned with that man. He grew up so much, and I like that he did it not only because he wanted something with Pay but mostly because he wanted to improve himself as a person and as a professional. That last 20% I got so teary-eyed, omg!! It was wonderful!
The romance was beautiful.
The steamy scenes were amazing 👏 each and every single one of them!
Overall, this is my favorite book from the NYC Lyons (so far!!) And one of my favorites from Lulu's.

Thank you to Valentine PR and my dear Lulu Moore for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Curing a baseball slump with Cosmo

2.5 stars

This is the opposite of a slow burn. It begins with a one night stand. When Payton leaves Ace the following morning with a note telling him to let himself out, his confidence is shaken. Is it possible she didn't have a good time? After he confronts her and she acknowledges that he didn't rock her world, that insecurity turns into a pitching slump. Convinced that sleeping with Payton again is the key to turning his game around, he bargains with her to give her another chance.

Most of the book focuses on their relationship in the bedroom. Payton is 7 years older than Ace and gives him lessons. Believing that great sex is improving his game, he and his teammates also begin reading Cosmo for advice on how to please women. The other players' games also improve. (The team's rising performance is covered, as well as Payton's struggles to rise in her career.)

While Ace and Payton text and spend nights when he's not on the road together, they don't go on dates or participate in non- sexual activities together. For most of the book, it seems like she's his lucky charm. The relationship didn't feel convincing.

It’s not often I find myself laughing out loud at writing but this book had me doing just that! I loved this book from Lulu, I need and want more! This is the second book in the NY Lions series following Ace, the team’s star pitcher and Payton, who appears in ‘The Secret’ as Kit’s BFF!

Ace and Payton meet unexpectedly and have a night together on her 30th birthday. Things didn’t go quite as she had dreamed 🤭 and Ace is much put out by this fact. He insists Payton give him a do-over as his under performance in the bedroom has led to a less then stellar performance on the pitcher’s mound.

I loved Payton so much; she wasn’t shy at all in asking for what she wanted. She was strong and confident within herself. She has a real vulnerable side too and I liked how she let Ace see that more and more once she realised she was worthy of love.
Ace was bloody hilarious; he was super genuine with Payton and despite his cocky attitude, he was really willing to put in that work for both her and his profession. I loved the banter he had with Payton and the level of maturity he had (despite his age) when Payton was unsure of them.

One thing I love a lot about Lulu’s books is how seamlessly she integrates her universes. I loved all the cameos from the Tuesday Club series and of course the snarky comments from Jupiter Reeves.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of this series, and I’m off to buy a copy of Cosmo 😏🤭

✨ARC Review✨

Release Date: December 20th

I was so excited to receive this ARC after falling in love with the first book in The New York Lions series (The Third Basemen).

Peyton does not do relationships and has always fangirled over Ace is the pitcher for the New York Lions. They end up having a one night stand that ended up being a big disappointment for Peyton and hurts Ace’s ego when she tells him he was not that good.

Peyton and Ace find themselves needed each other when she is trying to get ahead at her publishing company in exchange for a little bedroom coaching.

I freaking loved Peyton and Ace’s relationship so much! The banter and spice were so, so good! I absolutely melted when he called her “Babycakes”.

This book gave me all the feels and I couldn’t put it down.

Thank you Lulu Moore and Valentine PR for this ARC. I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Pure PERFECTION!!

I absolutely devoured this book, this author is one of my all time favorites and I always feel such honor to be able to read her books. The stories and the characters are so relatable, it feels like coming home every time you turn the page.

Ace and Payton were every-single-thing! This book has it all, friendship, lust, second chances, humor and all of the heat! I really really liked the character development for both Ace and Payton, there is just enough drama to make your heart skip a beat and then like the amazing writer she is this author makes it all worth while. I adore this group so much and look forward to more in this series.

4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a fun book! I really enjoyed so much about it! The banter. The fun times between both the girls' group and the guys group. It was steamy, and I really enjoyed seeing Ace make up for not being so great in bed the first time around.

Both characters grew a lot in this book, and I was so smitten with Ace and how he just started to fall head over heels for Payton. I loved the way that Payton would speak her mind and her honesty. My favorite parts had to be when the boys would read the Cosmo magazines. Every time it came up, it would provide nothing but laughs!

If you are a fan of Lulu's books, then this book will hit the spot! It gives laughs, swoonworthy moments, and steam and will make you feel good after reading!

My favorite Lulu book and one of my favorite books this year! I think I’m obsessed?? and here’s a few reasons why:

•MMC who WASNT a total stud in bed at first - I actually loved this and haven’t read anything like it before!! Ace was the perfect student 😍
•reverse age gap that wasn’t talked about really at all! I loved that their age gap was not made into some huge deal and they could just BE
•BABYCAKES🥹I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually adore this nickname
•the friendships - all around just wholesome and the best dynamic
•a FEMALE POTUS?!? Ok Lulu🙌🏻

I just loved every single thing about this book. I was GIDDY the entire time I read it. I need more Ace and Payton! Lulu, can we get some bonus scenes?!? Thanks Lulu and Valentine PR for the ARC!🫶🏻

Book 2 in the New York Lions series,

I Loved it I knew I would i loved Payton character from the secret as Kit friend I alway thought she was going to get with Penn but Ace is so much better for her.

Ace his cheeky his cameo roll in Felix made me smile and i was delighted that Lulu gave him his own book.

This book was so good i didn’t want to put it down and i love the fact we now have 3 other guys who hopefully will get there own books, Payton and Ace were so good together i love the friendship Ace and parker had and the girls always had Payton back.

Now that I have read it, I will never shut up about this book. I didn't even realise that I had finished the book because i was so not ready to let ACE AND PAYTON GO!!!!

Payton Lopez is a children's book editor who happens to have a one-night stand with the newyork lion's golden boy pitcher, Ace Watson and when she bumps into him again because of their common circle of friends in the baseball universe and blurts him the truth of him not being at par, this messes with his male ego and suddenly the golden boy has a nightmare in the opening day game.

Now certain turn of events led them to make a deal that benefits both but what started as something so casual, gradually turned to something much more intense and pure and sacred, something they both have been waiting for their whole life.

I loved Payton's strong and idgaf attitude, her confidence at something she wanted, her belief in herself and her worth. And god to talk about Ace man!! The man was brimming with golden retriever energy, he was so obsessed with her, so naughty and adorable at the same time!!!

I also loved the hilarious relationship all four boys shared, the Cosmo magazine angle was so funny and cute god!!! Also the godly friendship between the girls was just chef's kiss. So protective, so affectionate

Ok- so I liked some things about this book. I liked the girl gang/friend group, I liked the beginning/set up/one night stand gone wrong, and I liked the baseball elements (a lot).

I liked how strong Payton was in her convictions and how she didn’t let Ace take over her personality. I also liked how Ace was the one who fell first, and he made a point to show her that she was more to him than the original deal.

The two main things I didn’t care for were the character names and the sheer amount of side characters. As my first Lulu Moore book, I didn’t know any of the others coming in and I could not keep up with who was who and who that person was with. It was overwhelming and killed the flow of the book.

I also did not like the catalyst for the 3rd Act mess. At All. Like, I actually hated it. It made me not want to read her backlist because the side characters were major ick and it wasn’t ok. The whole thing. ICK.

Overall, this was not a book/series/author for me. I liked the basic storyline and first 2/3 of the book, but struggled with liking the characters enough and connecting to the story. Maybe starting from the beginning, or at least her billionaire series, would have made it more enjoyable but it wasn’t for me.

4 / 5 Stars
2.5 / 5 Steam

This is the second book in a series. I didn't read the first book and didn't feel lost or confused so they can be read as standalones.

This follows Payton and Ace.
Payton is a fiercely independent, confident, career focused woman.
Ace is a young cocky playboy pitcher for the Lions.

They have one night together that satisfies her, but leaves Ace confused. She didn't act like most women around him and he had no idea what to do with that. I honestly love when the playboy gets knocked down by a confident woman. It's a funny wake up call for them.
This has some wonderful found family - Payton with her girls and Ace with his teammates. Another thing I truly love in sports romance is the comradery within the team and how they treat each other like brothers.

This was my first time reading Lulu Moore but I'll definitely be reading more. I plan to go back and read the first book in the series as well as continue it.

The Shake Off is book two in Lulu’s New York Lion series and can be read as a standalone. Finally getting Payton’s story! I feel like I have been waiting so long for this one and it did not disappoint. Whatever Lulu writes I am going to read.

This story follows Ace and Payton. Ace is the star pitcher of the New York Lions. He has the world at his fingertips tips, any woman he wants he could get. He and Payton end up having a one night stand, where he was less than memorable. Finding this out Ace goes into a downward spiral, unable to pitch to save his life. He figures the only way to fix what is broken is to go back to the source, Payton. He convinces her to give him another chance and he is willing to do anything to learn to get a girl to the finish line and do whatever it takes to get his mojo back.

These two had so much chemistry and their banter was some of the best I have ever read. I was swooning, giggling and kicking my feet the entire time. Not only was the banter so well done between the two MCs but I loved the banter between the Fab Four. I was dying…I can’t wait for this to continue in future books.
Ace was such a man obsessed and I ate it up. He is young but sure of himself and finds his head and his heart connected for the first time in his life. He falls for Payton and wants to prove to her that he is better than she thinks he is, long before he realizes she is perfect for him. I mean he reads Cosmo so he can be better for her…

Also I love how Lulu sprinkles in characters from her previous books. Especially loved seeing Kit in this one, and getting an update to her life. If you have not gotten into Lulu’s other series this is your sign to do so!

This is a baseball romance with everything you could want and much much more. The banter, the spice!!! If you don’t pick this up then you’re missing out on a fantastic and amazing romance.

Overall: 4.5
Spice: 2

Tropes:
-Baseball Romance
-Reverse Age Gap
-He Falls First
-Reverse Grumpy x Sunshine
-One Night Stand

4/5✨ 3/5🌶

Being back with the New York Lions is always such a delight. This time it's Ace and Payton's story. Ace is the team's next superstar pitcher and Payton is a children's book editor in addition to being friends with the girls. As Payton is about to light her birthday candles, destiny sets a plan into motion for them both. They soon agreed to spend the night together. However, things don't go according to plan...... Ace leaves broken in more ways than one, as they agreed to help each other, a redo per se. While they may be different, they soon start to compliment each other. They share something that goes beyond a physical form as the feelings they share become something bigger than themselves.

Although Ace is known for getting lucky both on and off the field, he is the kind of person who lights up any space he walks into. We discover that Ace is also considerate, a total sweetheart, and completely family oriented. When his whole world transforms around him, the more he falls in love with Peyton.

Payton can come off standoffish, which matches her black-cat demeanor. She loves romantic novels, but she steers clear of genuine love like it's the plague. She has alot of layers as she puts her job first. Payton is more than she seems; even I felt a little envious of her love for her shoes and friendships. As Ace uncovers her walls, her desire to be loved and healing through baseball.

The story of Payton and Aces reminded me of a 90s rom com with a twist in how to lose a guy in 10 days…meets sex and the city. But Lulu did not shy away from baseball and spice in this book. She had me googling baseball terminology. However, the found family was perfect, the men were great, and the girl group was phenomenal, especially Kit. All in all, this was just that quick and sexy read that I'm eager to see what Lulu has in store for us next in the series.

Thank you to Lulu Moore and ValentinePR for the ARC. 💕
