I received an ARC from NetGalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for an honest review.

I’m sorry but this left me cold on so many fronts, despite having a fairly interesting start. I really wonder what Mills and Boon are trying to do these days. I think attempts to be au courant have led them to forget the importance of developing the romance.

The story was bizarre and yet I could not find myself interested in the plot or the characters. There was a distinct lack of understandable emotion and human connection.

Genie, the heroine was clearly a young woman who had been brought up in the worst and strangest of circumstances and had been damaged by the abusive behaviour of her parents. I’m unsure that in real life,, she would have been able to move on from 15 years of no love, awful exploitation and negative attention.

in the middle of the story, four months pass by in a sentence. We’re supposed to believe that she has been able to resist the temptation to have sex with Seve for all that time. Isn’t the idea of these romances that the attraction is irresistible? No, I couldn’t buy the premise, or the execution. I was bored and I ended up skimming.

On paper I should have enjoyed reading this novel as I enjoy Maya Blake’s style of writing and so many of the storylines: pregnancy, intelligent heroine, alpha male and move to a beautiful island.
I found this book hard to get into and stay interested. I didn’t like either of the main characters, Genie morphed from tech wiz to wimp whilst Sev just seemed like a bully. Both characters had tough childhoods, Genie being used as a cash cow by her parents for example but even then I struggled to relate,
The characters seemed very two dimensional and unrealistic which is very strange for a Maya Blake novel as normally she really understands her characters.

Pregnant and Stolen by the Tycoon de Maya Blake

Argumento:

No nonsense tech genius Genie sets the ball rolling with billionaire Seve in this electrifying stunner by dropping a huge bomb of a request in the opening chapter. Rejecting Genie's request doesn't stop fierce negotiations that set the pages on fire.

Hijacking Genie and landing on his people's island is the start of an adventure of a lifetime for both Seve and Genie. Language expert who's first language is logic makes for fantastic conversations with the beautifully hard Seve. What he's trying to purchase from Genie will save his people but maybe it's the impending baby that will contribute to Seve's hopes and dreams. The 24 hours Genie grants Seve is met head on. As Seve knows; a lot can happen in 24 hours.

I really enjoyed this Harlequin Presents. Maya Blake has penned a unique story! Genie is such an unusual character in the Presents realm, it's what makes Pregnant and Stolen by the Tycoon unique to the line. I enjoyed reading something different from the norm yet still full to the brim with exotic locations where passion knows no bounds. Seve is on fire as the male lead and his gorgeous dominance shows through with a side of family, horses and beautiful sounds of nature emanating from the island's creatures.

Recommended for anyone looking for a love story outside the box. From Genie's childhood betrayals to her outlook and Seve's reason's for stopping at nothing to help his people and yet Maya still builds a love story around the uniqueness that started from a volley of negotiations that burst into flaming passion.

Negotiations of a lifetime are about to begin!

A proposal, a pregnancy, and a paradise island?? Sign me up!

Its no secret that I love pregnancy trope! I know that’s not everyones cup of tea, but if its is then check this one out!

We follow tech genius, Genie and tycoon Severino after a night of spice which leads to a surprise baby! Seve is an all over alpha male and gets what he wants no matter the cost. Genie is an independent women and looking to move on with life after perfecting her algorithm and selling it off.

I really enjoyed that we got to see Seve and Genie’s relationship develop rather than skip ahead 9 months completely. This book is fast paced and insta love focusing on the main couple during pregnancy.

I rated this book 3.75 stars, its a really quick book which is easy to follow along.

A good book

The h and H meet because he wants to buy her company, she is a genius who has created an algorithm that can be beneficial to helping the climate. They are very attracted to each other, she is geeky and not very socially engaged. He discovers she is pregnant and kidnapped her. Both had childhood trauma and trust issues. The ending felt rushed, also an epilogue would have been nice.

This has all the ingredients of a Mills and Boon romance - read in one sitting and now looking forward to Maya Blake's next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me an early look at this book in exchange for an honest review.

A deal, an accidental pregnancy and a marriage. Two fiery personalities who are both trying to keep the upper hand but the chemistry between them is far too hot to be denied. There was a lot of push and pull and thank goodness they got their HEA.

Swoon. What is it about Harlequin Presents that I love? The sweet but feisty heroines? Their innocence? The arrogance of the hero? Everything really, especially if they are well written. And Maya Blake sure knows how to write a good Harlequin Presents!

I didn't like it.

At first I liked that the heroine was so different from other heroine's because of her genius and not understanding social cues, however halfway through the book I found myself bored with the characters and the plot. P.
