**All four books in The World Apart Series plus an extended prequel AND *Exclusive* Bonus Content!**

Can two broken souls fix a world that’s been shattered?

Clark and Adelaide think their lives can’t get any worse. Until they meet each other.

Adelaide — heiress to the wealthiest man in the Ceithren Empire — has felt a void since her sister’s death. Just as she’s resigned herself to the empty life her father chose for her, a relic from a world that shouldn’t exist plunges her into chaos.

Clark — son of the greatest terrorist the empire has ever known — is still reeling from his father’s death. Since then, his life has boiled down to two things: his brothers and his next mission. When his mission to bring back a mystical artifact goes awry, he’s forced to choose between getting the job done and saving the life of a spoiled socialite.

But Clark isn’t the only one after the artifact.

He and Adelaide must work together to survive… if only they can manage to avoid killing each other before their enemies have the chance.

The World Apart Series will make you question everything you thought you knew about life, humanity, and the choices we make for the people we love.

This book is for you if… you have wasted hours searching for young adult novels that feature mature characters that are eye-rolling for exactly the right reasons. Be prepared for some serious steampunk and a lovely enemies-to-lovers-romance.

Preface.
I suppose it's best if I admit this right away...

commentary 20/04/2020: I miss Gunther so much. Soft bois all the way, people.

Overall.

Yep. This is me, I'm also preggo because Gunther. Gunther. Gun-ther. I love him so much.

I just. Y'all. I love this book. I really do. It's not the most picturesque or epic thing I've read but The Fractured Empire still managed to nurture my heart in all the right ways.

I saved so many quotes from this book, it's insane. Usually, only fact-based books earn that much digital marker colour. Not only were there countless witty lines that made me smile or ponder, but I also couldn't help but be in awe over the writing style. I noticed countless times how impressed I was with the authors' careful and skilled wording. The only critique I can truly to bring to the table is that there were scenes where I was wishing for two or three lines more to make the plot work smoother or narrow down the veil between the reader and the characters. These were rare and didn't have too much of an impact, though.

I started The Fractured Empire last week on the remote bus and realised fairly quickly that my emotional capacities weren't up for it. I had a pretty stressful week that - although offering time for reading - made it hard for me to get into something. This precious, lovely, irreplaceable piece of gold did it. It pulled me out of this void I was in. I loved it all. The banter, the brooding brother. Gunther. The witty heroine, the mystery. Gunther. The bookverse, the characters. Gunther. I have mentioned Gunther, right? If not: Gunther. The adorable, kind, red-headed genius. Bad boys are so yesterday, gimme that soft boi. I love him. Although deaf and painfully antagonised for it from his biological family, he grew into this strong, knowledgable and skilled man who fights battles in his own way. Callum Turner came closest to my imagination although I am aware he's way too old and this is a general issue when teenagers are portrayed.

In my head, I tend to make the characters older so I can just go fall in love with them all I like if the book allows it. That also made me realised how highly inappropriate it is of me to have crushes on YA characters. The "heroes" in NA/Romance are usually self-preoccupied boneheads with little to no morals though, so, obviously, I hate them.

I also want to draw special attention to Nell (Lupita Nyong'o in my head). Beautiful, strong, powerful Nell from now on is what my Patronus would look like. She's fierce and unapologetic and this is what I strive to be.
”Could you speed along the history lesson and tell us what we need to know?” Xavier cut in. “I’m sorry, why are you speaking to me?” Nell shot back. “Be glad I saved your life at all. Feel free to repay me with silence.”

When I finish this series I expect Addie to teach me the heiress expression. I could use a change from my habitual RIB.

What’s happening.
This book is about the cutest lad in the world, Gunther. A red-haired boy with the combined brainpower of Albert Einstein and Alexander the great, seasoned with the perfect pinch bucketload of kindness. He's soft and loving and... I know for a fact the author pair will be reading this so I should probably give a taste of what everybody else thinks, this book is about [mayor eyeroll].
‘Sometimes, the things that didn’t kill you didn’t make you stronger. Sometimes, they just left you broken and damaged for eternity, like a china teacup that had been shattered and super-glued back together. It might look like a cup, but try filling it up with anything of substance and see just how dysfunctional it truly is.’

Addie's not been on the bright side of things since her beloved mother and sister were killed in The Silent Explosion. Alienated from her father, she struggles to find purpose in life until she is spontaneously abducted-slash-rescued by Clark. Although they couldn't be on more opposite sides, Addie and Clark are forced to work together to get the chaos a relic from a long-forgotten world causes sorted to their advantage. If they only knew what that actually even meant to them ...
Con:
hard to resist sexy ‘enemy’
unlearn to suppress feelings and dealing with them instead
weird mechanic but alive weapon hunting them

Pro:
feeling more alive than ever
trio of brothers + femalebrain power = force to be reckoned with
Gunther.

I love this series, so I can't wait for the boxset with bonus content. It's always such fun to get those little extra sneak peaks into a favorite world.
Addie is one of my favorite heroines ever and Clark is super swoony.

Highly recommended.

If I could have, I would have gone ahead and read this whole series in one sitting because it was extremely engaging! (I also wish bedtime didn't have to be a thing. LOL!). I didn't find myself wanting to book down any of these books once because it was boring or slow. No, instead there were tough topics addressed (even though sometimes uncomfortable because of what happens), fights and drama that left you begging for more, and an overall sense of adventure.

When I finished reading, I was/am proud to say I'm a reader of this author’s stories (and now stalker of every new book release). She can write an incredible story that simply leaves me breathless with creativity and drama.

But let's talk about the writing for a moment. Usually that’s not something I mention in my reviews, but wow! This author wasn’t ever a "bad writer" from when she first started by any means, but I can see how much stronger her writing has gotten. And it’s so very good. Seriously, every line just feels deeper and the way she can convey things is inspiring to me as a writer. I was extremely impressed!

The ending was definitely everything I hoped for even though there were certain times that genuinely were heartbreaking.

I highly recommend this series if you like steampunk, fantasy, snarky characters, and excellent character growth! Just remember to have your tissues on hand!

Loved this book! Was hooked from the very beginning! Quick and easy read! Liked getting to create a new world in my mind from the descriptions of all the different places we get to go on this adventure and all of the characters we get to meet along the way! Big fan of Addie and her snarky, heiress attitude! Also love Clark and his pompous personality 😂 (Becoming a real big fan of these enemies to love interests kind of books!) I am happy and sad to have finished this amazing series! I have LOVED every page of the World Apart series and I’m glad I came across it when I did! I loved all of the outgoing/adventurous characters and the intriguing world that we got to explore throughout this journey! If you like adventure, snark, a little romance, and a lot of fun reading, you definitely need to get you a copy!
Thank you for the laughs, the tears, and for letting us be apart of your world Robin! 💙 (Gonna go back to bawling, because I don’t know what to do now..😂)

It just seems impossible to write 1 review for the entire series, so I'll just split it up, reviewing each book apart ;)

1. The fractured empire:
A great book containing the right amount of adventure, mystery, friendship, royal shenanigans, witty conversations, handsome boys coming to the rescue and an independent heroine. There are some plot twists in the book, because not all characters possess all information, and as a reader you also discover some more things along the way, just like the main characters. I really liked the dynamics between Addie and the Nobel brothers, hopefully we'll get some more of that in the next books. Nelly and Perry should have received some more spotlight moments in my opinion, you won't see them that much throughout the story and that's a pity. But overall a great story, I'm curious about how the rest of the series will unfold.

2. The tempest sea:
The story starts at a slow pace, but still keeps you captivated. The amount of action in this book is smaller than in the previous book, but this is compensated with a lot of emotional stuff that's going on, you learn a lot about the background of different characters. I was glad to see Nel getting a bigger role in this book, it's something I missed in the previous book. I also liked the protector and princess chapters, they give you valuable insights as well. Like in the previous book, Addie is again struggling with some stuff but being though and bad-ass as well. Her character is really great. It's nice to see how she starts to recover throughout the story as well.

3. The forgotten world:
Book 3 of the World Apart series, I liked it as much as I liked the previous ones. A little more action here than in book 2. You really see the characters struggle, some of them are really broken by the events of the previous books, but slowly, very slowly, they start to crawl out of the deep pit they have fallen in. At the same time they show you how strong they can be as well. Sometimes I was a little frustrated by some broken characters not letting the people they are close with help them, but luckily in the end, everything falls into place. I liked the analyst and idealist chapters as well, you gain so much insights from them, without the main story slowing down because these chapters are really short. Next read: the Ever Falls.

4. The ever falls:
Just like the other books in the series, this one was very enjoyable as well. In my opinion, it concludes the series nicely. Of course I'm always said when I have to say goodbye to certain characters, but the continuing story of the others provides hope. There are a lot of POV's in this book, something I normally dislike because it often slows down the story a lot. That was not the case in this book, Clark and Addie are still the main focus of the storytelling, but you still get some great insights in the heads of the other characters by having their own chapters as well. I'm really glad I read this series, it's so full of adventure, great friendships, a few love stories, some magic and cool inventions.

0.5 The silent explosion:
I read this prequel between books 1 and 2. Nice to get some insight on what happened before the first book of this series. I liked that the POV’s were different from the first book. But you don’t get to know that much more, so 3 ⭐⭐⭐

Thank you Robin D. Mahle for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I really liked the books.

This four part series captured my heart from the first page! If you love enemies to lovers, this is a must read!

The characters were easy to relate to, and the development of their relationships are such a compelling read! Each book left you wanting more, and I couldn’t get enough!
I also loved the whole steampunk vibe this series gave off. It’s not my typical kind of thing I’d read, but I’m so glad I did! I’d never not recommend this!

Thank you Robin, for allowing me to read this series as an ARC, I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to fall in love with your writing!

I've currently read two of the books in this series, but I can already tell that it's going to be a favourite! I really enjoy spending time in this fantasy world, with a few steampunk elements thrown in the mix. I love the connection between the three brothers, the pirate ship with only women, and the enemies to lovers trope!

I absolutely loved this series. From beginning to end I was hooked. From the writing style to the characters to the world-building to the witty banter to everything in between. I highly recommend this series. Clark has made his way into my list of top 10 #bookboyfriends.

This boxset is simply fantastic. Consisting of all four books, an extended prequel and exclusive content this is all going on in a totally unique and incredible world built by the authors. With a breathtaking storyline that pulls you in and takes you on one hell of a ride of adventure, suspense and romance. The characters are relatable and full of sass and sarcasm and have to work together to survive. It’s an amazing YA fantasy so if this is your jam then definitely give it a read!

This is my second read through of this series and I adored it even more this time. It's such a great enemies to lovers romantic fantasy. The steampunk backdrop adds so much to the world building. This is a story that explores motivation, relationships, and grief in great depth. What would you do for those you love? What would you sacrifice for the greater good? It's a highly engrossing treatise on ethics.

The beauty of this boxset comes in the form of the addition of The Silent Explosion, which I hadn't read previously, and the diary entries from the perspective of Nell. Both of these goodies adds so much to a story that I was already in love with. So glad I read it again!

I loved this series! Besides it being a good deal, this omnibus includes entries from PeNelope's journal around the major events within the series (not just her POV from earlier events) as well as a short story/prequel.

The prequel is fascinating. We get PeNelope, Gunther, Amelie, and Locke (which is especially amazing because we get insight into changing his assignment to be Addie's personal guard).

To see my thoughts on the 4 individual novels, check out those titles individually as you read so you don't get spoilers 😉

But a quick summary is that so many of the characters, with all of their flaws, grow and stick with you long after you're done reading. I hope there are more books written in this world soon!

I feel like I have to rent a billboard and tell people to read this series!! Or maybe I can interrupt some important even that's being aired on TV!

I cannot recommend this enough! If I have to force people to read it, I will gladly hold it in front of their faces until they give in and start reading it!

I got so lost in this world that I got cranky when I had to return to reality and do mundane stuff like shower and make dinner!

I also can't remember the last time I cried this much in a book... oh wait I do! But we're not going to talk about that! #TooSoon And don't worry I made sure Robin knew all about my broken heart and ruptured soul! I know why it had to happen... doesn't mean I have to like it!

If you need 3 more reasons to read this series...

1. Clark
2. Gunther
3. Xavier

You don't just get one book boyfriend to gush over... nope! You get THREE!!

So.... did you ONE CLICK yet or should I Google "How to rent a billboard?"

Oh man, every time I pick up a story with this author, I honestly fall more and more with her work. This series is steller (just like her other books I was blessed to read). I've literally cut down on my sleeping time because I just NEEDED to keep reading. The characters were. just so loveable AND relatable, plus who doesn't love the good ole enemies to lover's trope? I certainly don't, as I gobbled up Clark and Adelaide's relationship. (Plus, Clark is kind of dreamy..... for a fictional guy, it's hardly fair).

I thought this series had it all with so much built up suspense, lovable characters, romance, and a dash of humor. I also appreciated the 'steampunk' touch, since that's secretly an interest of mine. Honestly, if you're looking for a new read, have time, or trying to get out of a reading slump, give this series a go!

The World Apart is a thrilling adventure through a captivating, unusual world. The first time I read this series, I couldn’t put it down, and I ripped from one installment to the next in the midnight hours. Now, in the bind-up, there are no barriers between the eager reader and the next chapter!
While Addie and Clark are by far my favorite couple of this tale, each and every other character is endearing and distinct. And I pride myself on spotting the twists before they come, but this story kept surprising me at every turn!
I can’t stop recommending this series, and now that there’s bonus content from Nell’s point of view, I know what edition I’ll be gifting and recommending from now on.
Take a break from the real world and go on this wild, swashbuckling, otherworldly adventure. It’s worth every second.

This entire series had me engrossed from book 1 and unlike many series, I was just as addicted at the end as I was at the start.

I love Mahle's balance of character development and plot as well as how each character really comes into their own through the course of this series and not just the main few characters.

Addie is the perfect blend of sheltered and strong, and Clark's rough and stoic ways perfectly compliment her. Gunther is, of course, absolutely adorable and perfect as is BeLa. Xavier, the Director, and the General are all wonderful side characters with nuanced motivations and development as well. And then my absolute favorite, Penn (or PeNelope). Her development, though she didn't play a huge part through much of the books, was stunning.

If you're a fan of YA fantasy/steampunk fantasy, I highly recommend picking up this series (and why not when the whole box set is so cheap?) and adding it to your TBR pile.

complex characters, fun read and romance

This sat on my shelf for a long time. It was a great read once I started. I loved BeLa calculating having to turn her head “25 degrees”, depending on the size of their noses. The brothers were great foils. It was nice to include the epilogue vignettes of Locke. I wasn’t sure anyone was that good.
The pacing of the romance was complex an refreshing. Usually, a writer has to make the romance “slow burn” or focus on a different character’s romance when one relationship is settled. This book did some of that. There are three brothers, after all, but the main relationship was always Clark and Addie, who were more complicated than slow burn. Clark being remarkable inept at pursuing a woman he likes was fun dialogue. Again, a fun read.

Wonderfully Romantic, Action-Packed, Tragic

I've laughed and cried, been frustrated and excited, not to mention all the swoon-worthy moments scattered throughout the entire action-packed slow-burn romantic adventure series. I loved having the character backgrounds from the prequel. Each book within the series built upon the last to culminate into a wonderful series that I'd gladly read/listen to over and over.

Great World Building...Strong Character Development and Growth

Betrayal...Kidnapping...Freedom...Liveliness...Bantering Brothers...Deceit...Lies...Weakness...
Protector...Broken...Adventure...Trust...Grief...Despair...Misunderstandings...Faith...Tears...
Sadness...Loss...Sacrifice...Love

I very recently discovered this author and can't believe I've missed reading her stories for this long. This series is excellent. The writing is taut, with enough description to set the scenes but never too wordy. The story is unusual and exciting; plus it never drags. I like the varied points of view and each chapter is labeled with the character whose POV it will be so it's easy to keep track of things. The only thing that seemed not to fit here was the ages of the main characters. They seemed way too mature for 17-19 years old. But I was able to push that fact aside and just loved the series anyway. If you like fantasy and really well-told and edited stories with interesting characters, you'll love this series! Bonus that we get it all in one book.

I absolutely adore this series, and knowing that it was coming as one set, I was beside myself with excitement! This series has everything: adventure, suspense, humor, and the perfect romance. It's not easy, and is so messy, but still perfect. You absolutely adore the characters the further along you go. Robin does a spectacular job with dual character POVs, and the story continues to flow seamlessly between the two. Occasionally, other POVs are sometimes sprinkled in as well, and again, don't detract, but only add, to the main story. Now, let's add in bonus scenes, and I'm a goner! You absolutely must read this series! You won't be disappointed! I highly recommend!

The author's depiction of the main characters in this series is masterly. While they may have originated as stock characters, the author has added detail and personality such that I have been empathizing with Adelaide and Clark through their respective journeys and trials to their joint endeavour (which has made this slow reading for me). The characters and the style of writing are very much like Martha Wells' work in her "Death of a Necromancer". I strongly recommend this to any fan of Martha Wells' Ile-Rien Chronicles.

I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved these books.

The plot and the characters arcs were so nicely thought out and executed. The relationships so well paced and placed within the stories.

The villains of each book were so flushed out and exciting and the twists and turns that come with them. The pacing from one book to the next was awesome. Reading them one after the other, I started to forget where those seams were because of how well they went together.

I loved every moment of these books, including the ending which had me sobbing but I wouldn’t have changed it. It was perfect. Awesome books. I’d recommend to everyone.

Thank you Robin D. Mahle for allowing me to read the complete series!

I absolutely loved this book. It was filled with adventure, love, and hardships which i believe makes for the best type of series. Addie made for an interesting character that really developed with the story and shows how don't just a book by it's cover. Gunther was my other favorite character because even though people were mean to him he learned how to be forgiving and kind which shows that our environment does not always decide our character. I am so glad I got to see this world through the eyes of the author. The vivid details the author uses lets me picture the people and places.

I have Never picked up a book by Robin that I haven’t loved and this series is no different. I absolutely adore the character development and how much Sass her MC’s have.

This series has everything and Clark and Adelaide may be one of my favourite book couples, they challenge each other with the push and pull of their paring.

The world building in this series is phenomenal and I love that our MC’s come from such different backgrounds as this opens up so much.

Highly recommend this series and anything else that Robin writes.

This series is just fantastic, I struggled getting into book one, but I'm so glad I persevered because the whole journey was great. The Forgotten World was by far my favorite of the series, but the fourth book just pulled everything together and it was a beautiful, heartbreaking, perfect ending. I know I'll be reading these again in the future.

This was another new author and series to me, and it was nice to be able to read the series all in one go, and the extra content was a pleasant bonus!

I loved the characters and the world building in this series. There are varied points of view, so be aware of that before choosing to read, as I know some readers don't like that. I like that each section was clearly labeled with each character.

I can't wait to read more by this author.

Glad I Had the Whole Set

I enjoyed the whole four books in this series of books, because as I finished one, I could not wait to move into the next installment. I like that the characters are not always predictable or likable, but that relationships are based on trust, commitment and loyalty. This series has romance ( clean!) adventure and unexpected twists that make it even. Ire interesting!

3.5+ stars. It was a fun story. I did have issues with some *things* but I won’t talk about them because I feel they give away to the plot.

I think my main issue was with the FL. She was strong and smart and made sacrifices, but a lot of the characters would say they also saw her as strong, but their actions wouldn’t say that, and that frustrated me.

Overall, fun story and kept me entertained!

This series is phenomenal. There is action, suspense, mystery, romance. There are heartbreaks and double crosses, redemptions and second chances. Forged in friendship. Defined by love. This series will take you to the ends of the world and back. Lies will crumble, worlds will be reunited, and the final act will leave you breathless. I've read this series twice now and cannot get enough!
