Este cómic es un diez. Una mirada feminista a la sexualidad, a las relaciones y a cómo el prejuicio afecta a la vida sexual de la mujer. Un prejuicio siempre de corte masculino y muy conservador. Me ha encantado cómo Paprika va transformandose y liberandose de todo aquella que ataba su vida. El dibujo es precioso, con escenas muy graciosas y que me han sacado más de una carcajada. El personaje de Dill es majisimo, y es una buena muestra de cómo ser un tipo de diez. Muy recomendable.

I wish I can say I loved this, but I didn't. Saying that, still enjoyable.
Basically our main lead, Peprika, is a sexually repressed, very successful business women. Thanks to her father, who put into her brain that sex = bad, she has a ton of struggle just being herself and trying to find someone to be with. However, when she thinks she's met the person she might fall for, she uses a delivery boy to get prepared sexually. Things go as you expect and she might be falling for this delivery boy.
The characters are solid, as is the art, it's actually really sexy at times and shows full on old fashion fucking. But also, it can be funny with the over the top faces and such. So all of that works, and the plot is simple but effective.
The dialogue can be cringe at times, and on top of that very very very overwritten. Characters speaking WAY too much. I believe Mirka is a talented artist and writer but she can use a editor to help cut back her wording sometimes IMO. It would only enhance her stories cause her art is goddamn GOOD.

Library checkout, high on the list for its category. Everyone in this book is a cherub or a devil, and it is a world where these 2 groups are interacting. The main character is Paprika, who is a little devil working at a publishing company. There are love interests or sexual interests for Paprika including both devils and cherubs, and her interest can chaotically jump back and forth between different characters. If I remember correctly, the story ends with Paprika's interest settling on a popular cherub.
The drawing style of horns, wings, and halos easily and quickly gives a notion to how characters should be perceived. Some pages can be very dense with very little blank space. There can be a lot of detail, and if those details represent significant meaning, it can often be lost on me. There is a definite sense of nothing here can really be trusted, whether it is saying something happened that didn't or saying something didn't happen that did.
All in all, a quick trip through the lives of some ordinary publishing company employees and their familiars, a world where things are often a stalemate and sometimes a cocaine orgy.

Me gustó mucho!
No le tenía tanta fe a esta novela gráfica, sinceramente solo la compré para completar el monto míninmo para que un envío me saliera gratis y con descuento. Pero terminó sorpreniéndome gratamente.
El dibujo y la edición son muy lindos. Está en blanco y negro pero tiene toques de color en rosa fuerte qué le dan un buen toque. Y la historia es muy buena!
Me gustaron mucho los personajes y como están construidos♡
También tenía miedo que las escenas sexuales sean demasiadas y afecten negativamente la trama, pero estuvieron bien. No las sentí vulgares, exageradas o innecesarias. Podrían no estar tan explícitas? Sí. Pero tampoco molestan o se hacen super repetitivas, ni están puestas por puro morbo.
No tengo quejas de esta historia, en especial de esta edición con las 3 partes juntas en un mismo tomo.
Si tengo algo malo que decir de este libro, creo que sería que no estoy tan contenta con que todos hayan tenido un final feliz. Principalmente l ex de Paprika qué lo detestamos y se merecía más karma y más tiempo pasándola mal. Pero aparte de eso no se me ocurre nada en este momento que criticarle.
Fue una grata sorpresa y de lo mejor que leí este año.
Así que mi puntaje es de CUATRO ESTRELLAS Y MEDIA (4,5 ★★★★☆)
Nota: igual le doy 5 estrellas en el raiting sin decimales de este lugar. Además el 4,5 es solo porque no sentí tanto amor y emoción por los personajes (igual me gustaron mucho), no por algo objetivamente razonable jaja.

I finished this a few days ago. Honestly the story was good, not great but good. Was a typical romance dealing with a repressed but Successful Woman and how a loveable good warms her heart all while also warming her pants. Characters were interesting, the plot was pretty predictable with one small twist at the end that is pretty obvious. The art gives off Manga inspiration.

This was one of them "surprisingly cute" comics, even if you know what the main plot twists will be from the very beginning. But it is a story told well and it made me laugh a few times, so I have no complaints. Bonus points for having a main character that isn't your usual gravity-defyingly curvaceous girl.

Honestly a little shocked that my library had this, a fun story of a successful but repressed woman finding her way in life and love with a little help from a hot delivery man having trouble growing up, but with a healthy fuse of extra spice. I working say it was the most original story, but it was fun and heartwarming and well drawn and not always for the prudish to put it lightly

Una sátira feminista donde hasta los ángeles no son tan buenos como los pintan (menos Dill, Dill es un himbo maravilloso)

Loved the delightfully expressive art and the pacing and dialogue were dynamite. Didn’t care much for the plot but it was one of my favorite romance tropes (growing to be better because of each other) and fun to follow along with.

I really loved this graphic novel. The character was flawed, physically and mentally. She didnt have the perfect body, which anime artists constantly draw. This was real. It was a great sexy little romance with lots of comedy, perfect for us middle aged ladies.

Hot Paprika es una obra que llevaba tiempo buscando y, a ser posible, sin censura, ya que considero que si la obra es sin censura de manera original, lo suyo es que la edición también vaya acorde. La edición de Montroz es, sencillamente, bellísima. No llegué a ver las otras ediciones que sacaron (y creo que iban con dicha censura), pero lo que han hecho con esta obra en esta edición es chulísimo.
Paprika es una mujer, diablesa, feminista, fuerte, independiente y la mejor en su trabajo. Sin embargo, hay algo que no es capaz de controlar: el sexo. En esta historia conoceremos a la mujer que hay detrás de la fachada y para ello necesitaremos a Dill un dulce e inocente repartidor angelical (MUY GOLDEN RETREIEVER) el cual acompañará a Paprika en esta misión de autodescubrimiento.
Si bien muchas veces las referencias y las escenas sexuales pueden dar la sensación de no tener cabida y estar ahí tan solo por el puro morbo del lector, en este caso son necesarias, ya que acompañan a la trama y a nuestra protagonista. Es así como conoceremos a la diablesa Paprika, yendo desde su niñez hasta su adultez y con ello descubriendo como afrontó y vivió su sexualidad hasta este momento. La trama toca temas no solo sobre la sexualidad, sino sobre uno mismo: el autocariño, el aprender a quererse y en qué, a veces, es necesario cortar algunas ramas de nuestro árbol para poder avanzar.
Paprika ha sido una historia redonda, de lo mejor que he leído en novela gráfica. Lo adore y el estilo artístico fue delicioso, ojalá pudiera leer más obras de este estilo o de este autor. Creo que, en parte, en algunos temas pude verme un poco reflejada y pude entender mejor a la protagonista.
En definitiva, es una obra que recomendaría a todo el mundo.

Buenas!!! Hoy les traigo la reseña de este integral de los tomos de Sweet Paprika. Es una relectura, en su momento lo había leído en digital y a color, en esta edición como verán no es a color 🥲
No lo había reseñado antes así que primero les voy a contar de que va: trata de Paprika, una joven diablesa que es LA ejecutiva creativa de una gran editorial (en este mundo son diablos o ángeles), una Miranda Priestly con todas las letras! Paprika tiene todo lo que quiere pero también algo que no pudo evitar: la soledad. Así que van a aparecer un par de personajes para dar vuelta todo.
¿Qué les puedo decir? Realmente está lleno de clichés románticos, creo que los tiene todos: la chica con corazón de hielo que por dentro es súper insegura; el triángulo amoroso; los dos chabones que están bien buenos y se enamoran de ella, uno parece ser un idiota pero tiene un corazón enorme, y el otro lo contrario; ah acá también hay un tercero en discordia: el ex insoportable...
Tiene todo lo que no me gusta, para empezar no me gusta leer cosas románticas y mucho menos con tantos clichés, por qué lo leí? Primero y principal amo las ilustraciones de Mirka, me encantan! Segundo, necesitaba algo divertido y este lo es, cumple realmente con su cometido y tercero tiene una mirada feminista sobre la sexualidad y el sexo, cómo, muchas veces, los hombres tienen doble cara al estigmatizar a la mujer por su sexo y sin embargo ellos ser los depravados. Por eso, como aclaré más arriba, tiene escenas de sexo, que no están solo porque sí, influyen y se relacionan con la trama.
