The Lochlann Feuds #1-4

Rowan: The Lochlann Feuds - Complete Series

Rate this book
Rowan never wanted the kind of love you go to war for -- the kind of love that could break you.

But when a harmless adventure lands her in the dungeons of her enemy, she’ll realize that’s just one of many things that’s beyond her control. Between Socairan politics, blood debts, and arseling lords with perilously gray morality, Rowan is forced to learn more than she ever wanted to about herself, about the kinds of choices she is capable of making.

And about how much she’s willing to risk for a love she never wanted to begin with.

Rowan contains all four books in The Lochlann Feuds Series plus exclusive bonus content, including twenty new chapters, special edition artwork, and more!

I don’t understand all of the 5 star reviews or the ACOTAR comparisons. Barely a fantasy- part fae that can predict weather?? Not what my fantasy heart was wanting. Not magical, more like a medieval land dispute. I made it about 75% through the audible (over 20 hours of the 32 hour long audible) and I can’t believe I didn’t DNF it sooner. It’s just bad communication that’s dragged on for literally 20+ hours and the plot goes no where (granted it may have picked up in the 4th book, but come on, I’ve wasted too many hours of life to risk more disappointment). Somebody on insta recommended it for being spicy and I fear for them. 0 🌶️’s. It took 20 hours for “it” to happen and was the most anticlimactic (pun intended) scene that was over in less than 10 seconds. I hate writing negative reviews and giving less than 3 stars, but not worth your time.

This is all four books in the Lochlann Feuds series (Scarlet Princess, Tarnished Crown, Crimson Kingdom and Obsidian Throne), which I've read earlier and loved! Here we get 20 bonus chapters from other POV's, playlists, maps and such.

Unfortunatly I didn't have the time to re-read the whole series, so I kept to the bonus material. There were no problems stepping in to this world again, and I was reminded of why I love the series. There are of course several reasons for me to recommend it, but I can also boil it down to one word: ROWAN. Without a doubt one of my favourite characters EVER! I'm looking forward to reading The Lochlann Feuds series again at another time!

Honestly, I loved this series. There was no spice, but it is a true enemies to lovers romance that anyone can get on board with. There is plenty of story twists so it’s not super predictable and I loved all the characters throughout. This series is 4 books but is on kindle unlimited and they put them all together to make it easy. I read the full 4 book series in 2 weeks. Possibly gonna read the other series that are related to this one!

I think this is one of the most underrated series out there. The intensity, the plot twists, the gut-wrenching heartache, and the love story were all more immaculate than I could describe. My only dislike is that I would've liked a more extended ending in the fourth and final book instead of the brief epilogue. I loved every minute, 10/10 recommend.

1000 TIMES YES! If you’re a fan of Outlander and ACOTAR, you’re going to be a fan of this. Although it is more of a YA series, it didn’t really read like it. The audiobook is one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to.

Well this series took me by surprise! If ACOTAR and Outlander had a baby it would be this series! I had so fun reading this one, and even better it's a completed series!

This was such a great series and had it all! Romance, fantasy, action, adventure and humor! I truly fell in love with the FMC, Rowan!

From beginning to end, these stories will captivate you and then leave you wanting more! It was great to read Rowan change from the very first page to the end.
Nothing went like I thought it would and it was perfect!
The characters were very well written and I loved their friendships!

Secrets, lies, and revenge made for some really great reading. Was I angry when I had to put the book down?
Yes, but in my defense I REALLY wanted to stay in this world! I loved how the authors gave us playlists to follow for different chapters! And of course all the Bonus Chapters were amazing that gave us some different POVs!

If you love adventure, witty characters, and more, this series is for you! I'm a fan of this writing duo and will immediately be adding all their other books to my TBR pile!

This series is available on KU and you can get all 4 books with one credit on Audible!

*Received an ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest review! Thank you!*

What can I say that I haven’t said already? I gained immense confidence in my own ability to make good choices after I chose to read this series. I’d like to further add that this was one of the best decisions I made. The first book was interesting, funny, keeps you reading. But the second book? That was the book that caught my heart and drowned me in emotions. The best part of this experience was that I went in blind, which I would recommend everyone does. It is a treat.

The surprise that came after the second book was that there was to be another book added to this series. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to have more of Ev and Rowan. I would’ve traded my best friend’s kidney for it (believe me she’d have given me permission to do so). The next two books further blew me away and I had so many thoughts that filled my mind and I was a constant walking-talking-contemplating Lochlann Feuds obsessed reader from then on.

The Omnibus is everything I love about this series plus a little more. We get small insights into the thoughts and focus of other characters. If you’ve stuck with the authors from the Lochlann Treaty series, you’re going to want in on this. I wish I had read the LT series just so I could’ve enjoyed this little surprise. WE GET EVANDER’S POV. Excuse me, while I faint. I don’t think I will stop screaming until I get a whole series in his perspective. The bonus content is heartwarming and took me back for a short while to the world I’d fallen in love with with new pairs of eyes.

Highly recommend this series! Five stars. As always. Happy reading!

Immediate huge, no. This book was just the Winter King with a UN meeting. The decision to lean so heavily on Russian culture as to introduce stereotypically Russian alcohol and meals was so weird to me. This is fantasy. I shouldn’t be reading about borscht.

So let me clarify. This is absolutely not fantasy. Not in the slightest. It is Winter King/ScotlandxRussia fanfiction

Total Series -4.25 Stars 🌟

Scarlett Princess- Book 1
3.75 Stars 🌟

A nice surprise this week with another "new to me" author duo. This was a fairly fast and easy read/listen that introduces us to a wayward princess Rowan and her cousin Davan who find themselves stuck in an enemy country - their own country was just at war with them 20 years ago. They had been out on a sneaky mission to smuggle vodka back to their castle in their own country when the smuggling tunnel collapses and things go from bad to worse.

This is one of those stories that has a strong willed princess used to getting her own way and used to the way things are in her country, finding herself a prisoner in this new country where women are supposed to be seen and not heard. Does this become a problem? Yep, you better believe it.

I did have a problem with the insta-love that occurs with Rowan and Theo, but then the story takes a surprising turn that to me, made the story much more interesting.

Time to go find book 2.

Tarnished Crown - Book 2
4 Stars
This 2nd book has Rowan being "given" to another one of the Ducal Heirs based on a blood debt charge (which tbh never really made sense to me) but it definitely made the story more interesting.

Rowan and Evander are like oil and water and they can't go 5 seconds without arguing. There are a ton of political situations also going on at the same time so it helps to make the plot line a little more believable. Rowan can't help getting herself into situation after situation with her reckless behavior, but for me, she was a likeable MC. She makes friends with the guards wherever she goes and she definitely wants to help when she can - even if she tends to go about things in the wrong way.

The whole push - pull thing with Evander has just the right amount of tension but when Theo gets thrown back in....I wasn't a fan.

Okay -now to book 3.

Crimson Kingdom - Book 3
4.25 Stars 🌟

This is the requisite book where we have the FMC and the MMC separated due to "circumstances" and we have to deal with two people who are too stubborn for their own good. Neither wants to admit their true feelings for the other - so it does make things a little frustrating.

Theo is brought in again, and why I DO understand the reasoning behind it, AGAIN, not my favorite thing....

And on to the conclusion.....

Obsidian Throne - Book 4
4.25 Stars 🌟

This final book has our two MC's finally together, but in this book it is the plotline that takes precedent. There is a major event that creates chaos in Evander's country and Rowan and Evander find themselves in the middle of someone else's plan - and they are ensnared.

I liked the fact that Rowan takes the lead after certain circumstances are thrown at her and she decides to just do things her way - which surprises almost everyone - because it is a new and crazy way of thinking. I do like strong bad-a** female characters.

All in all, I really did enjoy this series. It was easy to read/ listen to and the pacing kept things moving quick and interesting. Both Rowan and Evander made it easy to root for them.

If I'm being honest, I think I totally fell in love with Rowan's crazy family and enjoyed every second that they were on page. Serious love!

This was a nice read to listen to. I was debating between a 3-4 rating because some of the books in this series I would have rated a 3 but others a 4. Overall I would have rated a 3.5. The series has humor, a love story, drama, growth, and a powerful, funny, stubborn female lead. Some of the Clan rules crack me up and I feel are slightly ridicules, but that also leads to drama/fantasy of the story. Then again what I know about Clans is only from Outlander and Clanlands, so truly my own biased naive thought.

I heard and read reviews that if you love ACOTAR you will love this and then bad reviews because this book is not spicy enough. True this book does not have the spice as in ACOTAR, but I don't feel this book needs to be compared at all. "ALERT SMALL SPOILIERS COMING " Yes there are some similarities such as being held captive against ones will, an unlikely savior/love interest playing both sides, and a love story you hate to love until you know the whole story, but its not the same story. Read this book for what it is and don't compare. Enjoy the story for what it is. Its a good one!

What makes this book is the banter. Rowan is so damn cheeky that I love it so much. This isn’t the super plot twisting, nail biter, war packed with fae super powers and Very spicy scenes. It is a great intro to the romance/ fantasy genre. Although it has everything that I just mentioned, it’s portrayed in a more tone down version that is great to read. It is an enemy to lover book, as always. I don’t really think it is 4 books in one, it is just one. Lol. About a young woman who lost herself, hid behind bad decisions and her cheeky-resilient nature, finding another lost soul.

DELIGHTFUL!!! From start to finish this was such a fantastic read! ❤️ This series filled the throne of glass shaped hole in my heart. Rowan is so strong and spunky i just loved her. I will be laughing at Booby Dagger forever. This series has so much humor, romance, flirting that made me kick my feet in the air and giggle, amazing battle, male main character POV, happy family warm and fuzzies, it was everything i look for in a romantasy book. Very low spice level, but it’s a sweet romance and worth every moment. Highly recommend!

I have heard a few people mention ACOTAR as a comparison. I don’t feel it’s like ACOTAR, but rather if you liked those books you might like these.

This was a good time for me. I enjoyed the characters. The banter is great. I do love me some good banter.

I bought this series with 1 audible credit and its on Kindle Unlimited. What a steal!

I ate this series up soooo fast. Very easy to read, likeable (and despicable) characters all around, and gave off historical fiction meets romantasy vibes.

Dueling kingdoms, multi-generational blood feuds, power grabs, grumpy meets sunshine, and BANTER. The Banter in these books is amazing. I love Rowan, our strong ass female main character, immediately. I never get annoyed with her - she is the best blend of confident, logical, and funny.

Read this now!
