The Power of a Few Kind Words: Create a More Meaningful Life, One Letter at a Time

Rate this book
What kind of person do you want to be?

"You made not only my day, but my week, my month, and my year." This is just one of hundreds of heartfelt responses Tracey received on her transformational journey of writing a handwritten, unexpected letter of appreciation to a different person every day for one year. Inspired by her father, who passed away suddenly when she was 24, and his constant request for "a few kind words," Tracey offers a simple way to feel energized, empowered, and uplifted.

What began as a journey to fill her depleted soul with positivity quickly became an awareness that we all crave being told we matter. This book will motivate you to look up, listen, linger, and engage with those around you. You'll be surprised how much there is to appreciate when you take time to notice, and how incredibly good it feels when you do!

You'll meet Ms. Davis, who ran the jury room; Cynthia, who made the "best chai latte ever"; and Teresa, the mail carrier, who gave Tracey's dog a treat every day for years. Tracey describes the incredible experience that happened when she shared a few kind words with her dad three decades after he passed away. Her heartwarming stories and thoughtful guidance will open you up to your own limitless opportunities for connection.

Loved this book! SO thoughtful, and gave me such good ideas for writing meaningful notes and recognizing people in my life with cherished words of appreciation and recognition. Also really enjoyed the personal tories sprinkled throughout. You know Tricaey, the author, is coming from a genuine place of love and sincerity.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ How the ability to share one’s honest full heart can be manifest in writing! Tracey is not only kind hearted; but her capacity to express her observations of this in others, so that they can recognize it in themselves, has brought joy and elicited emotion in me and everyone affected by simpatico with her.

She resides at a deep level of consciousness with a light bright sense of humor, delivering hugs inside envelopes that many of us have been overjoyed and lucky to receive. Along with the surprise is a comforting specificity of detail that renders her serendipitous letters not only endearing, but warm, grounded and genuine.

Dear Tracey’s father, BRAVO! Your beautiful daughter has brought you to life for us all. Through you, we’ve been touched by a precious awakening in Tracey’s book: Celebration of the ability to feel empathy communicated in such a kind way that it could circle the globe eliminating blind judgment, egotistical priorities, and a never-ending desire for revenge—the only way to save our beloved world.

This book was a great reminder of how a few kind words handwritten to someone can have a positive impact on the receiver and the writer.
